CLIFFORD
Gary Dean Clifford, 53, Lake Ozark, died April 17, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1948, in Stockton, a son of Joe T. and Ruby Lorene O'Connor Clifford. His mother survives in El Dorado Springs. He was married June 6, 1970, in Columbia, to Linda Novak, who survives.
He was a graduate of El Dorado Springs High School and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and the University of Missouri Law School. He received his juris doctorate in 1972.
He served as city attorney for El Dorado Springs and prosecuting attorney for Cedar County. He opened a private practice in El Dorado Springs. He was a partner of Curran and Clifford Law Offices, Osage Beach.
An Air Force veteran, he was a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Masonic Lodge 482, Clintonville, and the First Christian Church of El Dorado Springs.
Other survivors include: one son, Lucas Dean Clifford, Palantine, Ill.; and two brothers, James C. Clifford, Jefferson City, and Robert J. Clifford, El Dorado Springs.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Pastor Kerry Presnell will officiate. Burial will be in Freeman-Holsapple Cemetery, Collins.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
HARRIS
Bertha "Bert" Doubikin Harris, 97, St. Elizabeth, died April 19, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born July 3, 1903, in St. Elizabeth, a daughter of J.W. and Annie Shockley Doubikin. She was married July 16, 1952, in Swedeborg, to Fredrick Lee Harris, who survives at the home.
She was a graduate of Iberia Academy and Junior College and a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was an elementary, secondary and adult education teacher for 34 years. She worked for the University Extension Service as the Pulaski County Home Agent.
She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Miller County Historical Society, Lake Ozark General Hospital Auxiliary, Missouri Farmers Inc. and Oil Company and the Miller County and Missouri State Republican Party.
She was a Farm Bureau Political Action Trustee. She was a contributor to the Miller County Autogram and the New Iberian.
She was the author of several books. She was baptized at Fairview Christian Church, near Iberia, and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Columbia. She was affiliated with and active at Berean Baptist Church, Richland, and St. Anthony Catholic Church, near Iberia.
Survivors include one nephew, John D. Hammons Sr., Sedalia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Bro. Louie Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Livingston Cemetery, near Iberia.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Sunday.
KEMMER
Hugo P. Kemmer, 89, Linn, died April 29, 2001, at Green Meadows Health Care Center, Linn.
He was born Dec. 18, 1911, in Linn, a son of Anton and Catherine Luecke Kemmer. He was married Nov. 9, 1934, in Linn, to Esther Marie Monroe, who died March 1, 1987.
He attended school and worked in Osage County. He was a lifelong resident of the area.
Survivors include: a son, James Kemmer, Linn; three daughters, Jean Herndon, Blue Springs, and Joyce Hueste and Jane Scheel, both of Jefferson City; three sisters, Lorene Simpson, Phoenix, Ariz., Clara Williams, Jefferson City, and Lillian Nilges, Linn; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Morton Funeral Home Chapel, Linn. The Rev. Paul Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
KORTE
Betty Ann Korte, 67, California, died April 19, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Blackwater, a daughter of Martin and Mary Etta Duncan Hazell. She was married May 23, 1951, in Boonville, to Bennie G. Korte, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she graduated from Pilot Grove High School and attended Lincoln University. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, California, where she was a volunteer for many years.
She volunteered for the American Cancer Society and the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. She helped establish the Moniteau County Mental Health Office.
Other survivors include: one son, Jeff Korte, California; two daughters, Peggy Flippin, Greenfield, and Linda Raithel, Russellville; five brothers, J.W. Hazell, Arrow Rock, Jim Hazell, Ray Hazell and Bernie Hazell, all of Marshall, and Earl Hazell, Blue Springs; two sisters, Georgia Hunter, Marshall, and Clara Jane Green, Boonville; six grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Main Street Baptist Church, California. The Rev. Ken Mathes will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

MINOR
Joseph D. "Don" Minor, 70, Jefferson City, died April 20, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 18, 1931, in Huntsville, a son of Joseph H. and Edith Francis Patrick Minor. He was married Aug. 11, 1957, in Jefferson City, to Ruth M. Morrow, who died July 8, 1997.
He attended school in Boonville. He served in the Army from 1950 to his retirement as a master sergeant in 1971. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He owned and operated Minor's Bait Shop and Don's Sinclair Service Station.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church; the Jefferson Lodge 43, A.F. and A.M.; the Prince of Peace Commandery 29, Knights Templar; Jefferson City Chapter 34, Royal Arch Masons; Erza Council 32, Cryptic Masons; Missouri Lodge of Research; Order of the Eastern Star, Victoria Chapter 14 and the Eugene Chapter 386; Grand Cross of the Color of the Rainbow; Moila Shrine Temple, St. Joseph; Legion of Honor of Moila; American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; life member of the VFW, Roy Sone Post 1003; member-at-large of the International Order of the Grotto; Frateral Order of the Eagles, Aerie 2693; and honorary member of the Missouri Sheriffs Association.
Survivors include: one son, Stanley W. Minor, Chesterfield; one daughter, Donamarie Minor Murphy, Jefferson City; two sisters, Tudie Reichel, Gravois Mills, and Joyce Gee Vemer, Booneville; and one grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Doyle Sager and the Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital Cancer Center.
PRICE
Bonnie Sue Price, 35, New Bloomfield, died April 18, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Oct. 21, 1965, a daughter of Roy and Edle Oden Price. Her mother survives.
She worked as a hair stylist at Regis and Fantastic Sam's in Jefferson City.
Other survivors include: one son, Anthony Price, New Bloomfield; one sister, Denise Ponder, New Bloomfield; and one brother, Peter Price, Duncan, Okla.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

TOEBBEN
Jason M. Toebben, 19, Jefferson City, died April 19, 2001, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Oct. 31, 1981, in Junction City, Kan., a son of Dennis D. and Jane Ellen Whertvine Toebben. His mother and stepfather, Jane and Roger Dunn Jr., survive in Jefferson City. His father and stepmother, Dennis and Tonya Toebben, survive in Taos.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, he was a 2000 graduate of South Callaway High School, Mokane, where he played on the football, basketball and baseball teams.
He was employed with Scriv's Concrete Company, Eldon. He was a member of the 1137th military police unit of the Missouri Army National Guard.
Other survivors include: one brother, William C. Dunn, of the home; two sisters, Elizabeth R. Dunn, of the home, and Abigail R. Toebben, Taos; one stepbrother, Michael D. Hoffman, Russellville; one stepsister, Jessica Hoffman, Russellville; maternal grandmother, Ellen M. Whertvine, Jefferson City; maternal grandparents, Roger Sr. and Jolyne Dunn, Jefferson City; and paternal grandparents, Raymond and Margaret Toebben, St. Martins.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Martins Church. The Rev. Ed Schmidt will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in St. Martins Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
