COX-DiCARLO

Julia Patricia Cox-DiCarlo, 43, St. Louis, formerly of  Jefferson City, died April 27, 2001, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, St. Louis.

She was born July 14, 1957, in Hong Kong. Her adoptive parents, James P. and Margaret "Peg" Cox, survive in  Jefferson City. She was married in September 1989, in St. Louis, to Leonard DiCarlo, who survives at the home.

A Helias High School graduate, she graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in occupational therapy. She worked as an occupational therapist at hospitals in St. Louis.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Andrea DiCarlo; one son, Nathan DiCarlo; one sister, Peggy Ann Gaffke, Cossville, Tenn.; four brothers, William J. Cox, Great Falls, Va., James M. Cox, Liberty, and Joseph M. Cox and Michael G. Cox, both of  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Unity Christian Church, St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Lupton Chapel, St. Louis.

Memorials are suggested to Families with Children from China, 7 Willowoak Lane, St. Louis, Mo. 63122.

HAYES

Kenneth L. Hayes, 78, Vienna, died April 28, 2001, at Maries Manor, Vienna.

He was born July 17, 1922, in South Beloit, Ill., a son of Ray and Genevieve Belle Hollis Hayes.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He is survived by one sister, Dorothy Hayes, Columbia.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kordes Funeral Home, Vienna. The Rev. Karen Alden will officiate. Burial will be in Kenner Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Kenner Cemetery Perpetual Care or Maries R-1 School Athletic Program.

MOORE

Skylar Wade Moore, 3, Tipton, died April 28, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Nov. 21, 1997, in Columbia, a son of Mitch and Michelle Dorsey Moore. His father and stepmother, Mitch and Francie Moore, survive in Pilot Grove. His mother and stepfather, Michelle Dorsey and Dennis Blank, survive in Tipton.

Other survivors include: three brothers, Taylor Blank, Tipton, and Jordan Moore and Cody Moore, both of Pilot Grove; maternal grandparents, Donald and Janice Dorsey, Fortuna; paternal grandparents, Howard "Bud" and Linda Moore, Boonville, and Charles and Linda Schlotzhauer, Pilot Grove; step paternal grandmother, Clara Belle Schlotzhauer, Pilot Grove; and maternal great-grandparents, Roy and Betty Dorsey, Fortuna.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Kevin Blackburn will officiate. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the College Fund for Jordan Moore, in care of Citizen's Community Bank of Pilot Grove, Pilot Grove, Mo. 65276.

ROSS

Rebecca J. Ross, 61, Eldon, died April 28, 2001, in Osage Beach.

Arrangements are incomplete at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

SCHEPERS

John Herman Schepers, 92, Wardsville, died April 29, 2001, at his home.

He was born Sept. 16, 1908, in Castle Rock, a son of Albert A. and Christina Toebben Schepers. He was married Feb. 8, 1941, in Wardsville, to Angeline Elizabeth DeBroeck, who survives at the home.

He owned and operated a dairy farm, retiring in 1970. He worked in construction with Pope Construction and Cole County Farmers Cooperative.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, and the Over Fifty Club. He was a charter member of the Taos Fire Department.

Other survivors include: three sisters, Lorine Franken and Dolores Thruston, both of  Jefferson City, and Edna Franken, St. Louis; and three brothers, Levi Schepers, Cooper Hill, Norbert Schepers,  Jefferson City, and Wilfred Schepers, Lohman.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The Rev. Louis E. Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation also will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus Catholic School, American Cancer Society or the Parkinson Foundation.

SAPP

Wanda L. Sapp, 69, Kansas City, formerly of  Jefferson City, died April 28, 2001, at her home.

She was born June 4, 1931, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of George H. and Marble Edna Williams Greene. She was married in February 1953, in  Jefferson City, to Donald N. Sapp.

She graduated from  Jefferson City High School.

Other survivors include: two sons, Donald W. Sapp, Foristell, and Kelly D. Sapp, Kansas City; one daughter, Sherri L. Fairman, Kansas City; one brother, Jerry Greene, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Vickie Urban, Colorado Springs; five grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia. Kelly Sapp will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday.

TOUCHETTE

Joyce A. Touchette, 67,  Jefferson City, died April 30, 2001, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

She was born March 27, 1934, in East St. Louis, Ill., a daughter of Lester H. and Vera J. Martin Muskopf. Her mother survives in  Jefferson City. She was married Feb. 14, 1953, in Cahokia, Ill., to Pierre A. Touchette, who survives at the home.

She graduated from Dupo High School, Dupo, Ill. She had lived in Argyle from 1970 until she moved to  Jefferson City in 1993.

She worked as an information specialist with the Missouri Department of Revenue for 23 years, retiring in 1995.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Annette Touchette Wallace and Michele Touchette Fritz, both of  Jefferson City; one son, Bryan X. Touchette, Wardsville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Gregory Higley will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

TAYLOR

Dustin W. Taylor, 26, Columbia, formerly of Fulton, died April 27, 2001, at his home.

He was born Aug. 2, 1974, a son of Jack W. and Betty J. Underwood Taylor. His mother, Betty J. "B.J." Tripp, survives in Centertown. His father and stepmother, Jack and Nina Taylor, survive in Tebbetts.

He was employed by Gerbes supermarkets in Fulton,  Jefferson City and Columbia. He worked in route delivery for Pepperidge Farm.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Mike Crowson will officiate. Burial will be in Mokane Cemetery, Mokane.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, in care of Joneda Phillips, 1295 Mokane Rd., Fulton, Mo. 65251.

RUNYAN

Damon Runyan, 48, Eldon, died July 29, 2001, in Eldon.

He was born Oct. 12, 1952, in Tuscumbia, a son of Joseph and Louise Jakob Runyan.

He was a production worker and bartender in Kansas City and at Tan-Tar-A Resort. A 1970 graduate of Eldon High School, he lived in the Lake of the Ozarks area for the last eight years.

Survivors include: one daughter, Chasity Horton, Camdenton; one son, Chad Hoyer, Camdenton; and two brothers, Sonny Runyan and Mark Runyan, both of Eldon.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Big Rock Cemetery, Barnett. The Rev. James J. O'Sullivan will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

SMITH

Services were Thursday for Glenn Wayne Smith, 45, Elgin, Ill., who died July 21, 2001, from injuries sustained in a plane crash near Poplar Grove, Ill.

He was born May 5, 1956, in Hannibal, a son of Glenn C. and Jane Elliott Smith. His mother survives in  Jefferson City. He was married Oct. 12, 1991, in Bartlett, Ill., to Sandra Marie Bobek, who survives at the home.

A past resident of Perry, he served in the Marine Corps for 13 years until his retirement as a staff sergeant. He was supervisor of mechanics at United Airlines and formerly was employed by American Airlines.

He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Aurora Chapter.

Other survivors include: one sister, Lois Smith, Maplewood; and three brothers, Britt Smith,  Jefferson City, Charles Smith, Troy, and Karl Smith, Amarillo, Texas .

Services were at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. The Rev. Andrew Hougan officiated. Burial, with military honors, was in River Valley Memorial Gardens, Dundee, Ill.

Arrangements were under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home, Schaumburg, Ill.

STOKES

Joseph Harold Stokes, 92,  Jefferson City, died July 30, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Sept. 9, 1908, in Edwardsville, Ill., a son of Thomas H. and Johanna Ryan Stokes. He was married Feb. 22, 1940, in California, to Asenath Leah "Ann" Hickcox, who died Nov. 9, 1995.

He was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and received a bachelor's degree in business and public administration from the University of Missouri. He earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago.

He was employed with the Missouri Division of Welfare, Dunklin County, and was director of the Green County Department of Welfare. He retired in 1975 as the director of the Department of Research and Statistics with the Missouri Division of Welfare, where he worked for 27 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and the National Association of Social Workers.

Survivors include one son, Thomas R. Stokes,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Rev. Frederick J. Elskamp will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Carmelite Monastery or the American Diabetes Association.
