DURHAM
Drucella Ophelia "Peggy" Durham, 86, Jefferson City, died May 6, 2001, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
She was born Aug. 5, 1914, in Jamestown, a daughter of William and Minnie Seifert Stock. She was married March 15, 1938, in Columbia, to Max Eugene Durham, who died Feb. 21, 1982.
She attended schools in Jamestown. A homemaker, she was employed with the Missouri Department of Revenue for more than 40 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class.
She is survived by four nieces.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. George Scantlan will officiate. Burial will be in Centertown Cemetery, Centertown.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Baptist Church.
WALLS
Lucille Walls, 69, Fulton, died May 5, 2001, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton.
She was born Feb. 20, 1932, in St. Louis, a daughter of Daniel L. and Georgia Castleberry Kallbrier. She was married April 7, 1951, in St. Louis, to Don H. Walls, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Sandra J. Boffa, Fulton; two sons, James E. Walls, Truesdale, and Howard L. Walls, Warrenton; two brothers, Thomas Kallbrier, St. Peter's, and Vince Kallbrier, Fenton; one sister, Ercil Miller, Mineola; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Park Lawn Cemetery, St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
ALLCOCK
William Lawrence Allcock, 72, Versailles, died May 7, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Kansas City, a son of Ira and Mary James Allcock. He was married Nov. 10, 1951, to Barbara Bachman, who survives at the home.
A Navy veteran, he later worked for the Corps of Engineers in the Kansas City District. He served on the World Dredging Association Board. He was on the board of deacons at Congregational Church. He was a Boy Scout leader and a member of Micosay.
He was a member of East Gate Masonic Lodge and the Ararat Shrine Temple, both in Kansas City. He was a member of the Kansas City Scottish Rite, the Versailles Blue Lodge 320 A.F. & A.M., and was vice rajah of the North Shore Shrine Club.
Others survivors include: one son, Bill Allcock Jr., Kansas City; three daughters, Lee Ann Rice, Blue Springs, and Cheryl Yelton and Tammy Parker, both of Independence; one brother, Clifford Allcock, Yuma, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; three step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Diane Miller and Versailles Masonic Lodge 320 A.F. & A.M. will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
CLARK
Conley Ray Clark, 55, Camdenton, died May 7, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born Feb. 25, 1946, in Kaiser, a son of John and Wilma Parson Clark. He was married in 1967 to DeAnna Meads, who died April 8, 1990. He was married to Debbie Clark, who survives at the home.
He was a self-employed construction worker and served in the Army Reserves.
Other survivors include: two sons, Kelly Ray Clark, Herdon, Va., and Casey Ryan Clark, Camdenton; three brothers, Leonard Clark, Kansas City, Nyle Clark, Olathe, Kan., and Cecil Clark, Raymore; three sisters, Lois Meinrath, Albuquerque, N.M., Pat Hurtubise, Osage Beach, and Marcia Cunningham, Belton.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Cliffton Hodges will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
HEITMAN
John E. Heitman Sr., 70, St. Louis, died May 5, 2001, at St. Alexius Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born Aug. 24, 1930, in St. Louis, a son of Edward and Esther "Dolly" Heitman.
He was a produce driver for grocery stores.
Survivors include: four sons, Russell Heitman, Camdenton, Ed Heitman, Festus, David Heitman, Imperial, and John Heitman Jr., Florissant; two sisters, Daisy Million, University City, and Jeanette Mchaney, state of Illinois; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Lakewood Park Cemetery, St. Louis.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
STRATMAN
Mary Stratman, 84, Vienna, died May 8, 2001, at her home.
She was born May 6, 1917, in Argyle, a daughter of Louis Sr. and Gertrude Eichholz Weiberg. She was married Feb. 14, 1942, in Argyle, to Leo Frank Stratman, who died Feb. 17, 1988.
She was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, the St. Ann's Sodality and was an officer for the Home and School Association. A homemaker, she worked for Langenberger Hat Company in Vienna, retiring in 1974.
Survivors include: five sons, Andrew Stratman, Lee's Summit, Butch Stratman, Nevada, Henry Stratman, Ft. Monroe, Va., Leo Stratman, Jefferson City, and Richard Stratman, Argyle; four daughters, Georgena Hayes, Jefferson City, Dorothy Lucey, Maplewood, Kathleen Steuber, Vienna, and Marian Fleischmann, California; one brother, Louis "Lee" Weiberg Jr., Argyle; three sisters, Dorothy Massman, Argyle, Zita Tappel, Koeltztown, and Freda Kampeter, Argyle; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Pauline Stratman, and one grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Visitation Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schmitz will officiate. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Memorials are suggested to Masses or to Visitation Catholic Church.
PHILLIPS
Clarence Fenton Phillips, 85, Jefferson City, died May 9, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Jan. 6, 1916, in Jefferson City, a son of Charles F. and Drucilla Mae McMillan Phillips. He was married June 25, 1936, in Jefferson City, to Edna Louise Lee, who survives at the home.
He was a Jefferson City High School graduate and a member of Central United Church of Christ.
He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad as a conductor for more than 33 years until his retirement.
Other survivors include: two sons, Clarence Allan Phillips, Jefferson City, and David Lee Phillips, Las Vegas; one daughter, Janet Louise Eggen, Jefferson City; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Stephen H. Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Central United Church of Christ.
COOP
Services were today for Edith E. Coop, 99, Jefferson City, who died May 8, 2001, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 22, 1901, in Bates County, a daughter of George and Caroline Hammer Gench. She was married in 1921, in Bates County, to Clifford Eddy, who died Feb. 14, 1930. She was married in July 1931, in Kansas City, to Albert Coop, who died June 21, 1973.
She attended schools in Bates County and was a member of First United Methodist Church. A homemaker, she worked several years at Oberman Manufacturing Company.
Survivors include: two sons, Norman G. Eddy, Hickory, N.C., and William L. Eddy, Kirkwood; one sister, Eva Ault, Blackwell, Okla.; and one grandchild.
One grandchild preceded her in death.
Private graveside services were in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Mark West officiated.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.
ALBERT
Pearl M. Albert, 92, Ivy Bend, died May 9, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born May 1, 1909, near Columbia. She was married Nov. 12, 1969, to Charles J. Albert, who survives at the home.
She worked at an optical factory in Kansas City. She was a member of VFW Post 1892 Auxiliary in Kansas City. She moved to Ivy Bend nine years ago.
Other survivors include: one stepson, Roger Albert, Memphis, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Patricia Ann Crooks, Kansas City; and five step grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.
Memorials are suggested to the Ivy Bend First Responders.
ALPERS
Ernst W. "Ernie" Alpers, 87, Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Camdenton, died May 8, 2001, at Kavanagh House, Des Moines.
He was born in Webster County, Iowa.
He spent his life in Iowa and the Lake area. He was the former owner of a battery shop and resort. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the VFW and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Survivors include: one son, Denny Alpers, St. Joseph; one daughter, Julie Franklin, Nixa; one stepdaughter, Patti Vitello, Marshfield; three stepsons, Richard Scully, Albia, Iowa, Michael Scully, Des Moines, and John Scully, Fort Dodge; three grandchildren; and 14 step grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Allee Memorial Gardens. Bob Franklin will officiate.
