JACKS
M.J. "Jerry" Jacks, 83, Vienna, died May 12, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born July 16, 1917, in Rome, Ga., a son of David and Minnie McDaniel Jacks. He was married Oct. 8, 1949, in Detroit, to Thelma "Sammie" Eads, who died Dec. 27, 2000.
He was a member of the Rader United Methodist Church, near Vienna. He was an active member of the Vienna Senior Citizens Center. He was a former resident of Detroit where he was employed as a machine shop tool and dye worker for 33 years until retirement in 1970 at which time he moved to Vienna.
Survivors include: one son, Jerry W. Jacks, Dalton, Ga.; one brother, Arthur Jacks, Rome; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. The Rev. Karen Alden will officiate. Burial will be in Rader Cemetery, near Vienna.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and from noon-1 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to Rader Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
SCHEPERS
Wilfred J. "Shorty" Schepers, 75, Lohman, died May 12, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Folk, a son of Albert A. and Christine Toebben Schepers. He was married May 5, 1951, in Jefferson City, to Mary Therese Eggen, who survives at the home.
A 1943 graduate of St. Peter High School, he worked as a glazier for Brady's Glass and Paint for more than 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of Glazier's Local 513, St. Louis, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Russellville.
He coached Little League baseball and was a Boy Scout volunteer.
Other survivors include: three sons, Mark Schepers, St. Martins, Jeff Schepers, Pittsburg, Calif., and Curtis Schepers, Jefferson City; four daughters, Barbara Schepers, Kansas City, Cathy McDonnell, Leawood, Kan., Diana Collins, Overland Park, Kan., and Mary Jane Schepers, South West Harbor, Maine; two brothers, Levi Schepers, Cooper Hill, and Norbert Schepers, Jefferson City; three sisters, Lorine Franken and Dolores Thruston, both of Jefferson City; and Edna Franken, St. Louis; and 13 grandchildren.
One grandson died in 1980.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Brendan Doyle and the Rev. John Schmitz will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Michael Catholic Church Building Fund.
SAUCIER
Ruth Dorothy Saucier, 82, Taos, died May 12, 2001, at her home.
She was born May 23, 1918, in St. Louis, a daughter of Arthur and Mamie Jansen Schrader. She was married June 25, 1946, in Jefferson City, to Alvin Saucier, who survives at the home.
She graduated in 1936 from Roosevelt High School, St. Louis. A homemaker, she volunteered at St. Francis Xavier School and the American Cancer Society. She was a member of St. Ann's Lady Sodality, Te Deum and St. Francis Xavier Parent Teacher Association.
Other survivors include: two sons, Mark Saucier and Matthew Saucier, both of Jefferson City; five daughters, Barbara Hood, Carla Saucier-Roling and Christy Raithel, all of Jefferson City, Mary Toller, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jeanne McLellan, St. Louis; one sister, Marie Schrader, St. Louis; 28 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
One son, Stephen Saucier, died Aug. 2, 1995.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. David Maher will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Taos, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Missouri River Hospice or St. Francis Xavier School.
DRAINER
Charles V. Drainer, 68, Vandalia, died May 11, 2001, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born June 22, 1932, in Fieldon, Ill., a son of Victor C. and Hazel E. Hetzel Drainer.
A lifelong Vandalia and Farber area resident, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He had worked as a brick setter at CE Refractories, Farber, for 19 years before owning and operating a laundromat in Vandalia. He was a life member of Vandalia VFW Post 2173.
Survivors include: two sons, Mark A. Drainer, Vandalia, and Michael A. Drainer, Farber; two daughters, Melody A. Drainer, Chillicothe, and Melinda A. Drainer, Farber; two brothers, John R. Drainer, Jefferson City, and James R. Drainer, Vandalia; one sister, Ruth A. Jones, Jefferson City; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Waters Funeral Home, Vandalia. The Rev. Glenn Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
HENDEE
Mildred Hendee, 72, Iberia, died May 13, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Armourdale, Kan., a daughter of Reed and Lilly Ann Schneider Nunn. She was married Dec. 31, 1949, in Jackson County, to Edward Charles Hendee, who died Dec. 18, 1977.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Armourdale, and was active in the Faith Temple Family Worship Center, Kansas City, Kan. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary, Muncie, Kan., and a 40-year member of the Iberia American Legion Post.
She retired in 1978 after 35 years of secretarial and clerical work.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Louise Landess, Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Patricia Ann Dake, Iberia, and one sister, Hazel Villeril, DeSoto, Kan.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Faith Temple Family Worship Center. The Rev. Sammy Samson and Pastor Elton Dake will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens, Wyandotte County.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Long Funeral Home, Crocker, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at Faith Temple Family Worship Center, Kansas City, Kans.
Memorials are suggested to the Faith Temple Family Worship Center Building Fund.
IRWIN
Gladys Lorene Irwin, 81, Iberia, died May 12, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Iberia, a daughter of Chesley and Elizabeth Whittle Wyrick. She was married July 13, 1935, in Iberia, to Joe Franklin Irwin, who died July 27, 1993.
She was a seamstress for L.B. Manufacturing in Iberia until her retirement. She was a member of the Iberia Community Club and a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church near Iberia since 1934.
Survivors include: one son, Glen "Sonny" Irwin, Osage Beach; two daughters, Gaynell Webb, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Betty Rodden, Brumley; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home.
MANES
Robert Manes, 64, Crocker, died May 11, 2001, at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Ft. Leonard Wood.
He was born July 11, 1936, in Swedeborg, a son of William and Anna Mae Peterson Manes. His mother survives in Eldon. He was married July 21, 1956, in Morton, Ill., to Bonnie J. Traylor, who survives at the home.
He attended the Swedeborg Baptist Church and later became a member of the Mackinaw Baptist Church in Mackinaw, Ill. He retired in June 1977 after 23 years in the Air Force. He was a member of the VFW Post 4956 in Crocker.
Other survivors include: three sons, Robert Edward Manes, Bolingbrook, Ill., William Edward Manes, San Antonio, Texas , and Jeffrey Allen Manes, Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, William Edward Manes, Normal, Ill.; three sisters, Laverne Carroll, Eldon, Mary Ann Jacobson, Richland, Patsy Jean Wilkes, Crocker; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Swedeborg Baptist Church, Swedeborg. Pastor Doug Jacobson will officiate. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery near Swedeborg.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Long Funeral Home Chapel, Crocker, and from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Swedeborg Baptist Church.

PATTERSON
Charlotte Jane Patterson, 39, Eldon, died May 12, 2001, in Eldon.
She was born Oct. 27, 1961, in Cuba, a daughter of Phillip E. and Rosalie Bishop Patterson. Her mother survives in Eldon. Her father survives in Sullivan.
She was a senior reports clerk with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Eldon; CWA 6314 of Eldon; and Southwestern Bell Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include: one son, David Russell Patterson, of the home; one daughter, Evangeline Patterson, of the home; one sister, Phyllis Kelley, Sullivan; and two brothers, Joseph Patterson, St. Clair, and John Patterson, Sullivan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair. The Rev. Randall Bunch will officiate. Burial will be in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, St. Clair.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, and from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Russell Colonial Funeral Home.

REHAGEN
Wilfred C. Rehagen, 70, Meta, died May 13, 2001, at Truman Memorial Veteran's Hospital, Columbia.
He was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Miller County, a son of Adolph and Theresa (Schaffer) Rehagen. He was married Aug. 2, 1957, in Fairfax County, Va., to Jannett Hoy, who survives at the home.
A retired Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, he was a member of Argyle VFW Post 8045. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Meta.
He was a manager for Empire Gas in Meta from 1980 to 1985.
Other survivors include: two sons, Carl Rehagen and Thomas Rehagen, both of Jefferson City; four daughters, Darlene Hunter, Meta, Sharron Rainey, Rolla, Kathy Todd, Jefferson City and Ginger Carter, Mechanicsville, Va.; two brothers, Gerald Rehagen, Meta, and Harold Rehagen, Amazonia; two sisters, Rosetta Foster, Jefferson City, and Georgetta Franklin, Eldon; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schutty will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a VFW service.
