McGUIRE

Robbie McGuire, 30, Linn Creek, died May 25, 2001, at his home.

He was born March 10, 1071, in Columbia, a son of Larry W. and Donna Sue Long McGuire. His parents survive in Linn Creek. He was married Oct. 10, 1998, to Rebecca Ann Bannister, who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of the Linn Creek area, he was employed by lumber companies around Camdenton. He was a Baptist.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Danielle Nichole McGuire, Linn Creek; two sons, Andrew Michael Murphy, Houston, Mo., and Matthew Bryan McGuire, Linn Creek; three brothers, Tommy Wayne McGuire, Camdenton, and Dakota Blue McGuire and Jacob Wayne McGuire, both of Linn Creek; and one sister, Melissa Sue Hunter, Montreal, Mo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Paul Burns will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

JOHNSON

Billie Vick Riemenschnitter Johnson, 75, Overland Park, Kan., died May 26, 2001, at Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park.

She was born April 12, 1926, in Cole Camp, a daughter of Otto U. and Anita Burrel Vickery Riemenschnitter. She was married March 28, 1951, in Kansas City, to Harvey Dale Johnson, who died March 24, 1988.

A 1943 graduate of Stover High School, Stover, she attended William Woods College, Fulton. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as secretary to the assistant treasurer from 1944 to 1951.

She lived in the Kansas City area from 1953 to 1976. She had been a member of Broadway United Methodist Church since 1964 and belonged to the Pathfinders Club and the O.K. Club. She moved her membership in 1998 to Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church.

She was a past board member of the Farmers Bank of Stover. She was a member of the Johnson County Extension Homemakers Club and the Overland Park Gems, where she was past president and council representative. She was facilitator of the Round Hill Out-To-Lunch Group and was a member of the SOS dinner group and the Overland Trailblazers.

She was a volunteer for Vol-Star at the Johnson County Community College Cultural Education Center.

Survivors include one son, Dale Eugene Johnson, Leawood, Kan., and one grandson.

Her stepmother, Jewell Dulaney Riemenschnitter, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at D.W. Newcomer's Funeral Home, Overland Park.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Stover Cemetery, Stover.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.

OSBORNE

John G. "Johnny" Osborne, 78, Jamestown, died May 27, 2001.

He was born Feb. 19, 1923, in Lawrence, Kan., a son of John R. and Adelia Richardson Osborne. He was married May 17, 1942, in Montgomery City, to Ethel Childress, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of VFW Post 4345, California, and Assembly of God Church, Jamestown. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Jamestown Fire Department for five years, serving 2 1/2 years as chief. He worked as a substitute rural mail carrier after he moved to Jamestown from Colorado in 1976. He was a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 1985.

He lived in Colorado for 25 years and worked at Palmer Lockers, Idaho Springs, Colo. He was county clerk of Clear Creek County, Georgetown, Colo., and worked in governmental relations for Amex Inc., Climax, Colo. He was a member of the Deermont, Colo., fire department for 17 years, with 14 years as chief.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Darlene Rosean, Sandy Hood, Mo., and Denise Colvine and Geraldine Uribe, both of Jamestown; and three granddaughters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God Church, Jamestown. The Rev. Tharell Boulware will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Bethel Cemetery, Jamestown.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Bethel Cemetery Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California.

ROBINSON

Ransom Mathas "Gabby" Robinson, 76, St. James, died May 26, 2001.

He was born Jan. 17, 1925, in Carroll, Ill., a son of Stanley J. and Mable L. Williams Robinson. He was married Feb. 22, 1943, in Arkansas, to Mae V. Krepps, who survives at the home.

He was an electrician and an Assembly of God minister. He pastored at the Belle Assembly of God for four years and at Cherryville for 13 years. He also was an evangelist. He co-owned and co-operated Mae's Florist in St. James for 33 years, in Steelville for 13 years and in Cuba for 12 years.

Other survivors include: four sons, Terry P. Robinson, St. James, David G. Robinson and Michael A. Robinson, both of Cuba, and Timothy W. Robinson, Rolla; two daughters, Sandra L. Dunning, Corpus Christi, Texas , and Donna C. Farmer,  Jefferson City; two brothers, E. Les Robinson, Charlotte, Tenn., and Rudy Robinson, Naples, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, St. James. The Rev. Mick Thrasher, the Rev. T.B. Conway and the Rev. Robert Denny will officiate. Burial will be in High Gate Cemetery, High Gate.

Memorials are suggested to Phelps County Hospice.

ROBERTS

Mildred Roberts, 89, Osage Beach, died May 27, 2001, at Windsor Estate Convalescent Center, Camdenton.

She was born May 7, 1912, in Equality, Ill., a daughter of Steve D. and Emma Mundy Dempsey. She was married Feb. 4, 1935, to W. Homer "Bob" Roberts, who died Nov. 6, 1975.

A seamstress, she co-owned and co-operated the Paradise Resort, Osage Beach. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Lake Regional Health System and the Linn Creek-Osage Beach Lions Club.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dale Blair Cemetery, Camdenton.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.

VanDALSEM

Lynn Nelson VanDalsem, 87,  Jefferson City, died May 28, 2001, at Oak View Skilled Care Center.

He was born Aug. 7, 1913, in Fairview, Kan., a son of John H. and Margaret Drake VanDalsem. He was married Sept. 27, 1951, in Bentonville, Ark., to Lucille Anna Louise Bailey, who died March 21, 1991.

He attended school in Fairview. He was a sales representative for Montgomery Ward in Kansas City and Joplin for 17 years until his retirement in 1978. He had previously worked for Columbia Truck Leasing and was operations manager for Missouri Pacific Freight Transport. He had also worked for Hertz.

He was a member and served as an Elder at Community Christian Church-Disciples of Christ. He volunteered at the Rickman Center and Capital Region Medical Center.

Survivors include: one son, Jim Bailey,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Inez Harder and Nadine Meyer, both of Topeka, Kan.; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

One great-granddaughter preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. David Avery will officiate. Private family burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kan.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the Vogelweid School or Community Christian Church-Disciples of Christ.

HUMPHREY

Vasca B. Humphrey, 76, Iberia, died May 28, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born July 5, 1924, in Maries County, a son of Lester and May Renfrow Humphrey. He was married July 10, 1943, in Tuscumbia, to Dorothy Edna Wilson, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a 1943 graduate of Iberia High School and attended Carpenter School, Vienna. He worked for the Civil Service at Fort Leonard Wood until his retirement in 1987.

He was a member of the Iberia American Legion Post 105 and Brays Advent Christian Church, near Iberia, where he served as a honorary trustee.

Other survivors include: five daughters, Birdene Cochran, Brumley, and Barbara Harrison, Debra Blankenship, Linda Cheatum and Vanessa Duckworth, all of Iberia; one son, Steven Humphrey, Monett; one brother, Vernie Humphrey, Dixon; two sisters, Verla Hutchinson, Tuscumbia, and Viola Dake, Iberia; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

One grandchild and one great-grandchild preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brays Advent Christian Church, near Iberia. The Rev. Earl Skidds will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Union Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia, and from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Brays Advent Christian Church.

GRAHAM

Mildred V. Graham, 85, Versailles, died May 27, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born June 27, 1915, in Raymore, a daughter of Martin F. and Martha Ethel Wade Shipley. She was married Nov. 23, 1956, to Lloyd L. Graham, who died Nov. 3, 1993.

She was a retired floor manager for Sears Roebuck and Company, Kansas City. She was a member of the Unitarian Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Della Stokes, Foresthill, Calif.; one son, Dale Graham, Overland Park, Kan.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

One son, Rollyn G. Graham, preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Brooking Cemetery, Raytown.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

ANDERSON

William A. Anderson, 86, Versailles, died May 28, 2001, at the Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg.

He was born March 25, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a son of Floyd J. and Minnie G. Coquillette Anderson. He was married June 9, 1935, to Kathleen Murdock, who survives at the home.

He was retired from Rock Island Railroad and was later a television repairman. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of the VFW in Florida. He was a member of the Moravian Church, Longwood, Fla.

Other survivors include: one son, William D. Anderson, Gravois Mills; one daughter, Judy Rowe, McAlpin, Fla.; one sister, Annabelle Adams, Vero Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Pastor Thom Reagan will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
