BRANSON

Ruby May Branson, 88, Linn, died May 31, 2001, at Green Meadows Health Care Center, Linn.

She was born April 29, 1913, in Osage County, a daughter of Virgil and Mary Maples Lansford. She was married Nov. 29, 1933, in Bland, to Leslie O. Branson, who died Oct. 8, 1998.

A homemaker, she also was employed by Linn Manufacturing for several years. She was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church, Judge.

Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Barnes, Linn; two sisters, Oma Huot, Linn, and Dorothy Nolte,  Jefferson City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Solid Rock Baptist Church. The Rev. Lyle Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

Memorials are suggested to Solid Rock Baptist Church.

CARVER

Charles L. Carver, 72, Osage Beach, died May 31, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Owensville, a son of Melvon and Lena Bates Carver. He was married Nov. 15, 1952, to Shirley A. Eiffert, who survives at the home.

He had lived in Crocker and was a Crocker High School graduate.

An Army veteran, he lived in Independence and worked for the Armco Steel Company for 30 years, retiring in 1982.

He then moved to Climax Springs where he worked six years a bus driver for the Climax Springs School System.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Climax Springs and the Climax Springs Volunteer Fire Department where he served as captain for one year.

Other survivors include: one son, David Carver, Hammond, La.; two brothers, Melvon Carver Jr. and William R. Carver, both of Independence; one sister, Betty Penland, Crocker; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Independence.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.

MARTIN

Homer H. "Jack" Martin, 80, Camdenton, died May 31, 2001, at his home.

He was born July 21, 1920, in Camden County, a son of Jepethy E. and Leota Beatrice Speres Martin. He was married April 22, 1944, to Ruby Helen Leffert, who died July 19, 1987.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked as a shop foreman at Blair Cedar until his retirement in 1985. He worked for Wal-Mart for 13 years until his retirement in 2001.

He was a member of the Myetta Baptist Church.

Survivors include: three daughters, Virginia Martin Lowery, Lebanon, and Norma J. Martin Emry and Elizabeth Dulle, both of Camdenton; three sons, Frank H. Martin, Kearney, and Wayne Martin and Kenneth C. Martin, both of Camdenton; three sisters, Lula Calvert, Camdenton, Marie Martin, Sweet Springs, and Louise Scott, Macks Creek; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

One infant son preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Myetta Baptist Church. Burial will be in Myetta Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

Memorials are suggested to the Lake Regional Hospice.

NOLTE

Marvin "Horsey" Nolte, 73, Morrison, died May 30, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Morrison, a son of Edward and Alma Wolz Nolte. He was married Nov. 14, 1946, in Morrison, to Dorothy Hanne, who survives in Morrison.

He was a manager and worked at Morrison Hardware and Lumber for more than 35 years.

He was a member of Assumption Church, Morrison.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Sharon Steiner,  Jefferson City, and Jeanette Birk, Morrison; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Church. The Rev. Pat Dowling will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, Morrison, with a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Masses or the American Cancer Society.

SANDS

Frances D. Sands, 82, Laurie, died May 31, 2001, at Laurie Care Center.

She was born Nov. 5, 1918, in Guthrie, Okla. She was married Jan. 25, 1935, to Walter W. Sands, who died Jan. 27, 1998.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include: two sons, James E. Sands, Sunrise Beach, and Bob Gene Sands, state of Arkansas; two daughters, Cathy Russell, Springfield, and Lynda Kay Logan, Pomona, Kan.; one brother, Lee Frey, Kansas City; three sisters, Mary Forrester, St. Petersburg, Fla., Lena May Meeker, St. Charles, and Vera Opal Madison, Enid, Okla.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. The Rev. Jim Lawley will officiate. Burial will be in Garber Memorial Estates, Laurie.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday.

SEBASTIAN

Margaret Kathryn Sebastian, 81, Fortuna, died May 30, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born April 26, 1920, in Fortuna, a daughter of Harvey and Elsie Purnell Thixton. She was married in 1938 to Peter Sebastian, who died in 1979.

She worked for Wescom Electronics in Chicago.

She was a member of Fortuna United Methodist Church, Fortuna Senior Citizen and the Happy Homemakers Club.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: four sons, Peter Sebastian, Carrollton, Ga., Thomas Sebastian, Aurora, Ill., Nicholas Sebastian, Montgomery, Ala., and Paul Sebastian, Naperville, Ill.; one daughter, Magdalyn Sebastian, Valley Falls, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

One grandchild and one great-grandchild preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. David Howlett and the Rev. Magdalyn Sebastian will officiate. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Fortuna United Methodist Church.

SIMPSON

Dorothy "Dot" Crane Simpson, 80, Eldon, died May 30, 2001, in  Jefferson City.

She was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Eldon, a daughter of Merrell and Bernice Granstaff Crane. She was married Feb. 8, 1941, in Branson, to Herb E. Simpson, who survives at the home.

A homemaker, she was a member of the First Christian Church, Eldon, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Eldon Golf and Country Club. She was active in local bridge clubs.

The remains were cremated. Services will be at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Eldon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

YOUNG

J.D. Young, 26,  Jefferson City, died May 30, 2001, in Callaway County.

He was born Sept. 8, 1974, in Las Vegas, a son of Jack D. and Waynese Marie Moore Young. His father survives in Baker, Ore. His mother and stepfather, Waynese and Don Weston, survive in Fulton. He was married May 2, 2000, in Cookeville, Tenn., to Lisa Kay Martin, who survives at the home.

A 1993 graduate of South Callaway High School, he was employed as a cashier at Schulte's Fresh Foods.

Other survivors include: one sister, Brandee Pierce, Vandalia; maternal grandfather, Delane Moore, Yermo, Calif.; paternal grandfather, James Young, Halfway, Ore.; and maternal great-grandmother, Julia Moore, Barstow, Calif.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905; or Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility, 1030 Edmonds Street,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65109.

KINSLEY

Minnie Kinsley, 90, Galena, Kan., formerly of Crocker, died June 1, 2001, at St. John's Medical Hospital, Joplin.

She was born Sept. 19, 1910, in Texas County, a daughter of John and Ida Mackney Daniels. She was married Feb. 14, 1932, in Crocker, to Ray Kinsley, who died Dec. 19, 2000.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Crocker. A homemaker, she was a social worker in Pulaski County, Waynesville.

Survivors include: two sons, Gerald Kinsley, Terry, Miss., and Michael Kinsley, Baxter Springs, Texas ; two sisters, Hazel Kinsley and Clara Miller, both of Augusta, Kan.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Crocker. Burial will be in Crocker Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Long Funeral Home, Crocker, and from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church.

OWENS

Dana C. Owens, 82, Camdenton, died May 31, 2001, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

She was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Knoxville, Ark., a daughter of John R. and Jessie Choate Griffin.

She was employed as a postal services worker in Kansas City. She was a member of the Heartland Worship Center, Camdenton.

Survivors include: four sons, Phillip Peterson, Raytown, Mike Moorhead, Queensland, Australia, and Jacks Moorhead and Roy Moorhead, both of Camdenton; one brother, Donald Griffin, Paris, Texas ; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

One infant son preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Jerry O'Dell and Pastor Mike Moorhead will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Miriam Cemetery, Maryville.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.
