SHELTON
Reta Diana Shelton, 53, Lohman, died June 1, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 1, 1948, in Iberia, a daughter of Grant M. and Irene Palmer Skaggs. Her mother survives in Iberia. She was married Sept. 1, 1967, in Iberia, to W. James "Jim" Shelton, who survives at the home.
An Iberia High School graduate, she was a legal secretary for the Missouri Attorney General's Office since 1969. She was a member of First Christian Church in Jefferson City.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Jill Diana Lemons, Jefferson City; one son, Gregory James Shelton, New York City; three sisters, Joan Juergens, Belleville, Ill., Sue Grider, Gardner, Kan., and Paula Jean Schneider, Eldon.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church. The Rev. Lawrence R. Veatch and the Rev. Mindy Kiepe will officiate. Burial will be private.

WELLS
Raymond Wells, 72, Crocker, died May 29, 2001, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.
He was born Nov. 28, 1928, in Tulsa, Okla., a son of Raymond Wells. He was married Aug. 29, 1964, at Ft. Leonard Wood, to Rosetta Ponder, who died Sept. 16, 1999.
He was an Air Force and Army veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, retiring in 1969. He worked as a mess attendant at Ft. Leonard Wood for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Crocker.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Hunt, Batson, Texas , and Carolyn May, Harrisburg, Pa.; one son, Raymond Wells, Waynesville; and grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Chaplain Maj. Richard Chavarria will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.
GILPIN
Eula M. Gilpin, 78, Russellville, died June 1, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Henley, a daughter of Ernest and Ruth Hoskins Gilpin.
She attended schools in Cole County. She was retired from the housekeeping department at St. Marys Health Center.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert "Butch" Gilpin, Russellville, and David Gilpin, Jefferson City; four brothers, Junior Gilpin, Jefferson City, Alfred Gilpin, state of Texas , Stanley Gilpin, Elston, and Bill Gilpin, Centertown; four sisters, Beulah Cundiff, Holts Summit, Opal Hayes, Russellville, Hazel Schmutzler, Osage Bend, and Dorothy Belt, Centertown; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
One son, Ronnie Dean Gilpin, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Weber and Sons Chapel, Russellville, with the Rev. Walter Gilpin officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Hill Cemetery, Hickory Hill.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
BLOEBAUM
Frances P. Bloebaum, 87, Jefferson City, died June 1, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born June 17, 1913, in Steedman, a daughter of James W. and Caroline Kemp Beatty. She was married June 10, 1934, in Fulton, to John L. Bloebaum, who survives at the home.
She was a graduate of Mokane High School, Mokane. She employed as an account clerk with the Missouri Division of Employment Security for 15 years until retiring in 1969.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Jefferson City; the Mokane Rebekah Lodge; and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry R. Bloebaum, Jefferson City; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Francis Lee Bloebaum, died in 1989, and Jon Carroll Bloebaum, died in 1988, and one granddaughter died in 1983.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Mindy Kiepe will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri or the First Christian Church.
GARDNER
Eathel F. Gardner, 83, Macks Creek, died June 1, 2001, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
She was born Dec. 23, 1917, in Macks Creek, a daughter of William and Bertha Eidson Cyrus. She was married in 1946 to James Gardner, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Macks Creek, and the Macks Creek Easter Star 20. She worked at several different jobs.
Survivors include: one brother, Arley Cyrus, Macks Creek; and two sisters, Mary Wheeler, Marionville, and Betty McCall, Elkland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Macks Creek. Burial will be in Macks Creek.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Macks Creek.
HENDERSON
Homer A. Henderson, 82, Jefferson City, died June 1, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Dec. 13, 1918, in Guthrie, a son of Claud R. and Sarilda A. Zumwalt Henderson. He was married Nov. 9, 1946, in Jefferson City, to Rosemary Abel, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, he was a 1936 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a 1938 graduate of the Jefferson City Junior College. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was employed as a postal clerk in the Jefferson City Post Office from 1948 until retiring in 1977. He was a member of St. Peters Church; a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003; and a member of the American Postal Workers Union.
Other survivors include: four sons, John L. Henderson, Michael G. Henderson and Joseph A. Henderson, all of Jefferson City, and Greg A. Henderson, Columbia; one daughter, Jane M. Gregory, Jefferson City; one brother, B.R. Henderson, Rocky Mount; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peters Church. The Rev. Joseph Core will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 3 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Samaritan Center.
PLATZ
Gary L. Platz, 54, Eldon, died June 1, 2001, in Osage Beach.
He was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Mooreland, Okla., a son of Russell and Joyce Elmore Platz. His parents survive in Eldon. He was married Nov. 25, 1991, in Eldon, to Nina G. Herron, who survives at the home.
He served in the Air Force for 22 years before retiring. He was a member of the Rocky Mount Post 108 Am Vets, the Disabled American Veterans, Jefferson City, and the Lake Ozark American Legion Post 229.
Other survivors include: one son, Jeffery Platz, Dallas; one daughter, Kathia Platz, Tucson, Ariz.; one stepdaughter, Candie Hendrix, Eldon; three stepsons, Randy Hendrix, Russellville, Billy Jeffries, Fayette, and Dwayne Blake, Fortuna; one brother, Steven Platz, Eldon; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
REINKEMEYER
Virginia Margaret Reinkemeyer, 61, Folk, died June 1, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Feb. 19, 1940, in Argyle, a daughter of William and Frances Schwartze Steinman. She was married Oct. 16, 1965, in Argyle, to Raymond Casper Reinkemeyer, who survives at the home.
She was employed with International Shoe Factory and Oberman Clothing Factory. She retired from Scholastic Inc. Nov. 1, 1999, where she had worked for 31 years.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Cindy Meldrem and Darla Baslee, both of Jefferson City; one son, Darrin J. Reinkemeyer, Folk; three sisters, Rose Talken, Jefferson City, Mary Kampeter, Vienna, and Kathy Williams, Austin, Texas ; three brothers, Jim Steinman, Argyle, and Arnold Steinman and Steve Steinman, both of Vienna; two granddaughters and one step granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery, Folk.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk, Mo.

BUTLER
James J. Butler Jr., 77, Fairfax, Calif., formerly of Jefferson City, died May 28, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Mexico, a son of James Sr. and Marvel Taylor Butler. He was married to Carol Scott Butler, who survives in Fairfax.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in 1948, and a law degree from Tulane University School of Law in 1952. He practiced law in Shreveport, La., and St. Louis.
He performed trial and appellate work in the U.S. District Courts, the Louisiana Supreme Court and the Missouri Supreme Court. He was acting city attorney in Florissant, and chairman of the Missouri Department of Labor from 1965 to 1976. He then was appointed administrative law judge at the U.S. Department of Labor, retiring in 1993.
Other survivors include: one son, Tony Butler, Fairfax; two daughters, Margaret Wilkinson, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Ellen Reynolds, Shreveport; and two granddaughters.
One son, Scott Butler, died in 1988.
The remains were cremated. Services, with scattering at sea, will be June 22 under the direction of the Neptune Society, Novato, Calif.
