GOSER

Robert Harry Goser, 72, Taos, died June 3, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born May 31, 1929, in  Jefferson City, a son of Harry and Myrtle Francis Wunderlich Goser. He was married Nov. 3, 1954, in Lincoln, to Delma Jean Kinnaman, who survives at the home.

He was a 1947 graduate of  Jefferson City High School. He received a bachelor's degree in industrial arts from Central Missouri State University in 1952; a master's degree in education from Central Missouri State University in 1961; and a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Lincoln University in 1971. He was a teacher at the Lincoln R-2 School District, Lincoln, for nine years, and taught at Paseo High School, Kansas City, for six years.

A teacher, counselor and director of vocational, technical and adult education with the  Jefferson City public schools for 21 years, he was the first director of Nichols Career Center, where he worked from 1974 to 1988. He was a police officer at the  Jefferson City Police Department in the early 1950s, and was city marshall in Lincoln.

He was a member of the National Education Association, the Missouri National Education Association, the Missouri State Teachers Association and the American Vocational Association. He was a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the American Association of Retired Persons and the National, Missouri and Cole County Retired Teachers associations. He was a citizen volunteer at the  Jefferson City Police Department.

Other survivors include: one son, Robert Lyle Goser, Fulton; two daughters, Medina L. Brewer, North Bend, Wash., and Melina M. McCarthy,  Jefferson City; one sister, Mary L. Petry,  Jefferson City; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Schubert. The Rev. Gerald Scheperle will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

KOLKMEYER

Jo Ann Thompson Kolkmeyer, 60, Eldon, died June 2, 2001, in Eldon.

She was born Feb. 18, 1941, in Kansas City, a daughter of William and Mona Uhrmacher Thompson. She was married to Vincent "Joe" Kolkmeyer Jr., who died July 16, 1999.

She worked for the Miller County Health Department in the WIC Program.

Survivors include: two sons, Paul Kolkmeyer and Vincent H. Kolkmeyer III, both of Eldon; three daughters, Frances Baughman, Teresa Ketner and Sara Kolkmeyer, all of Eldon; two brothers, William E. Thompson, Eldon, and Richard L. Thompson, Independence; and eight grandchildren.

The remains were cremated. Services will be at a later date. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Miller County Health Department's WIC Program or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

SCHNEIDER

Anastasia May Schneider, infant daughter of Thomas and Billie Barnhouse Schneider, Auxvasse, died June 2, 2001, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

She was born June 1, 2001, in Columbia. Her parents survive at the home.

Other survivors include: one sister, Makayla Schneider, of the home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Barnhouse, Portland; and paternal grandfather, Cliff Schneider, Auxvasse.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Auxvasse Cemetery. The Rev. Rick Ballard will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the Anastasia May Schneider Memorial Fund, in care of Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas, Fulton, Mo. 65251.

Arrangements are under the direction of Maupin Funeral Home.

WARNICA

Lizzie Belle Warnica, 82, Eldon, died June 2, 2001, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

She was born July 26, 1918, in Dunlap, Kan., a daughter of Jessie and Gussie Miller. She was married June 22, 1941, to Harold Warnica, who preceded her in death.

She was a cook at the Eldon school for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Hopewell Union Church, Barnett.

Survivors include: one son, Steve Warnica, Eldon; two sisters, Mary Herbstreiph, Topeka, Kan., and Martha Halton, Lansing, Kan.; one grandson; two step grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Bill Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

HERTZING

Callie M. Hertzing, 80, Hallsville, died June 3, 2001, at her home.

She was born Jan. 7, 1921, in West Plains, a daughter of Pierce and Clara Jones Hiatt. She was married to Orville Nixon, who preceded her in death. She was married in 1940, in Union, to Bernard Hertzing, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: nine sons, Richard Hertzing, Noel Hertzing, Kenny Nixon, Larry Nixon, Eddie Nixon, and Mike Nixon, all of Columbia, Billy Joe Nixon, state of Florida, Allen Nixon, Russellville, and Raymond Nixon, Rhineland; five daughters, Sharon Brandt, Washington , Judy Whittley, St. Clair, Rita Nole, Columbia, Glenda Golden, Lake of the Ozarks, and Lori Mealey, Williamsburg; two sisters, Wilma Gray and Clara Lee Nichols; 54 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

Three sons, Harold Nixon, Orville Nixon and Alfred Nixon, and six grandchildren preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven. The Rev. Bart Larson will officiate. Burial will be Nortman Cemetery, New Haven.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

MANTLE

Lester M. Mantle, 80, Florissant, died June 3, 2001, at Christian Hospital Northeast, St. Louis.

He was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Osage County, a son of Charles and Anna Sieg Mantle. He was married April 2, 1943, in Linn, to Malvina Lavern Taber, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of World War II, he lived in the St. Louis area for the past 58 years. He was a member of R.L.D.S. Bel-Nor Congregation and the Merridan Masonic Lodge 2, A.F. & A.M.

He worked at Dixie Sandwich System, St. Louis, for 40 years before retiring in 1986.

Other survivors include: one son, John Wayne Mantle, Florissant; two daughters, Sharon Lynn Howard and Carol Jean Barteau, both of Florissant; three brothers, Roy Mantle, Kenny Mantle and Bob Mantle, all of Linn; two sisters, Sara Ann Haberberger, Belleville, Ill., and Mary Belle Vaughan, Linn; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the R.L.D.S. Vosholl Church, Vosholl. Ron Soloman will officiate. Burial will be in the R.L.D.S. Vosholl Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.

OSBORN

Opha Mae Osborn, 97, Valdosta, Ga., formerly of Camdenton, died June 3, 2001.

She was born Oct. 26, 1902, in Coelleda, a daughter of Frederick J. and Minnie Moulder Gerhardt. She was married to Dorsey Allen Osborn, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Camdenton.

She is survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Donald Keith Osborn and Dorsey Dale Osborn, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Gary Golsten will officiate. Burial will be in Parrack Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Thursday.

SCHANTZ

LeRoy F. Schantz, 82, Mexico, died June 3, 2001, at Missouri Veterans Home, Mexico.

He was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Dexter, a son of George F. and Bertha Mae Burke Schantz. He was married Dec. 8, 1940, to Margaret "Peggy" Landis, who died in 1996.

He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1940 with a bachelor's degree in agriculture. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he served as the Greene County collector of revenue from 1947 to 1958. He was an agent for the Connecticut Mutual Insurance Company, and he was director of the Missouri Division of Employment Security. In 1966, he earned his master's degree in business and public administration from the University of Missouri.

He was employed as division chief, Human Resources Development, U.S. Department of Labor, Washington , D.C. He ran for the Democratic nomination for governor in 1972. A former Neosho resident, he served as assistant city manager and city manager of Neosho.

He was a stockbroker for Newhard, Cook Stock Brokerage, Neosho, until his retirement in 1991. In 1994, he was named the Neosho Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.

He was a longtime member of the Elks and Masonic Lodges, and he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Neosho.

Survivors include: one son, Vincent LeRoy Schantz, Walnut Creek, Calif.; two daughters, Pam Schantz Rich and Mary Schantz, both of  Jefferson City; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at a later date. Private burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Neosho.

Memorials are suggested to Crowder College Foundation, c/o Clark Funeral Home of Neosho, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, Mo. 64850.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

ROUCH

Edward T. "Tom" Rouch, 79, Eldon, died June 5, 2001, in  Jefferson City.

He was born April 3, 1922, in Horton, Kan., a son of P.E. and Laura Miller Rouch.

A 50-year resident of the Eldon area, he worked as a clerk for the Rock Island Railroad until his retirement.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: one son, Dr. Thomas W. "Winn" Roach; one daughter, Paula L. Wilson, Sikeston; one sister, Rosemary More, state of Iowa; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon. The Rev. James O'Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
