CLARKE

James Roy Clarke, 69, Blue Eye, died June 16, 2001, at his home.

He was born April 25, 1932 in Eureka, Kan., a son of Ernest W. and Lucy Anne Swim Clarke. He was married Nov. 4, 1951, in Cole County, to Walda Marie Ramsdell, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a truck driver for 32 years with Pratt & Lambert Paint Co., Kansas City. He was a member of Pines Community Christian Church, Blue Eye; Compass Lodge 120 AF & AM, Parkville; Branson Lodge 587 AF & AM; and Teamsters Union Local 541. He had lived in Kansas City.

Other survivors include: one son, James Roy Clarke Jr., Prairie Village, Kan.; one daughter, Janice Marie Winningham, Blue Eye; five brothers, Thomas Clarke and Charles Clarke, both of Blue Eye; Oliver Clarke,  Jefferson City; Norman Clarke, Boonville; and Ronald Clarke, Elston; one half brother, L.H. Burnett, Blue Eye; one sister, Ollie Francis, Blue Eye; one half sister, Lyn Williams,  Jefferson City; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Charles Cribbs will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Centertown Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Pines Community Christian Church, 7968 E. State Highway 86, Blue Eye, Mo. 65611, or the Community Hospice of America, 1756 Bee Creek Road, Suite G, Branson Mo. 65616.

WELSCHMEYER

Rita M. Welschmeyer, 71, St. Louis, formerly of Freeburg, died June 17, 2001.

She was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Freeburg, a daughter of Gerhard and Anne Pohl Welschmeyer.

A graduate of Freeburg High School, she attended the former Missouri Business School, St. Louis. She was employed for 25 years as a court reporter with the St. Louis County Circuit Court, Clayton, retiring in 1993.

Survivors include: two brothers, Frank Welschmeyer and Martin Welschmeyer, both of Freeburg; and two sisters, Josepha Hausotter, Normandy, and Marie Billet, St. Louis.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg. The Rev. Joe Welschmeyer will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of New Kutis South County Chapel, St. Louis.

SHARP

Dorinda K. Sharp, 56, Kansas City, formerly of Gravois Mills, died June 16, 2001, at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City.

She was born Now. 13, 1944, in Kansas City, Kan., a daughter of Robert H. and Pauline Dorris McCullough Greer.

Survivors include two daughters, Heather Ripley, Camdenton, and Kristi Sanchez, state of California, and four grandchildren.

The remains were cremated. Graveside services and Inurnment will be at later date in Gerber Memorial Estates Cemetery, Laurie.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

WATT-SNOW

Kelly Watt-Snow, 36, Lithonia, Ga., formerly of  Jefferson City, died June 12, 2001, at her home.

She was born Dec. 18, 1964, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Earl and Beulah Kelly Watt, who survive.

She attended Monterey High School, Monterey, Calif., and graduated from St. Augustine's College, Raleigh, N.C. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

She taught fourth grade at Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School, Atlanta, Ga.

She was active in Chapter One, Book Club, directed the Bethune reading program and tutored.

She was a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Brandy Watt and India Watt-Snow, both of Lithonia; two sons, Clyde Snow III and Guy Harrington Snow, both of Lithonia; and one sister, Dr. Sherry Watt, North Liberty, Iowa.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Gregory Reeves and Albert Nickens will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday.

TWEHUS

Mildred M. "Millie" Twehus, 57,  Jefferson City, died June 18, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 20, 1943, in Meta, a daughter of Victor and Rose Otto Werdehausen. She was married June 17, 1961, in Meta, to Raymond H. Twehus, who survives at the home.

A 1961 graduate of Helias High School, she owned and operated Midwest Tours and Travel for 20 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Other survivors include: one son, Terry Twehus, St. Elizabeth; one daughter, Lori Twehus,  Jefferson City; three brothers, Billy Werdehausen, Meta, Robert Werdehausen, Wardsville, and Henry Werdehausen, Ashland; three sisters, Betty Wilson, Linn, Anna Marie Hartill, Eagleriver, Alaska, and Diane Veit, Folk; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.

Memorials are suggested to an educational fund for her grandchildren.

SOUTHERN

Lorri A. Southern, 34,  Jefferson City, died June 18, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born July 23, 1966, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of James L. Sr. and Carol Ann Schlumbohm Crader. Her parents survive in  Jefferson City. She was married Aug. 1, 1987, in  Jefferson City, to Jeremiah Joe Southern, who survives at the home.

She graduated from  Jefferson City Senior High School. A homemaker, she worked at T.J.'s Cafe and Catering and at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility as a certified nurse assistant and a certified medical technician. She received the Meritorious Employee of the Year award at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility in 1998.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Order of Rainbow for Girls, the 4-H Club and the Mission Awareness Team at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was a volunteer at Memorial Community Hospital and a Girl Scout leader.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Tiffany A. Southern and Brittany A. Southern, both at the home; three brothers, Jimmy Crader, Dan Crader, and Kenny Crader, all of  Jefferson City; and maternal grandmother, Irene T. Schlumbohm,  Jefferson City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Douglas J. Crader will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Buescher Memorial Home.

Memorials are suggested to Lorri Southern Trust Fund for the Children; St. Jude's Children's Hospital; Community Hospices of America; or the Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

MEYER

Dorothy F. Meyer, 82,  Jefferson City, died June 18, 2001, at  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

She was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Versailles, a daughter of Nelson and Laura Ratcliff Moore.

She graduated from Versailles High School. She worked as an order processor for Scholastic from 1969 until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; Order of Eastern Star of  Jefferson City, Chapter 496; and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary 5.

Survivors include: one son, William A. Silvey,  Jefferson City; one sister, Jean Turpin,  Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. The Rev. Jerome Brownlee will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Trinity Lutheran Church of  Jefferson City.

MEYER

Viola Kathryn Meyer, 95, New Haven, died June 21, 2001, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington .

She was born Oct. 17, 1905 in New Haven, a daughter of Julius and Louise Brockelmeyer Krueger. She was married Sept. 12, 1934, in New Haven, to Albert M. Meyer, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of Assumption Church, New Haven, and St. Ann's Sodality.

Survivors include: two daughters, Evelyn Bauer, Berger, Lorraine Grawe,  Jefferson City; one sister, Laverne Laune, New Haven; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Church. The Rev. Dan Mosley will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, with a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Assumption Church.

JUNGMEYER

Larry O. Jungmeyer, 58, Centertown, died June 18, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 2, 1942, in  Jefferson City, a son of Oscar and Esther Ott Jungmeyer. His parents survive in Brazito. He was married April 18, 1965, in Honey Creek, to Elena Swisher, who survives at the home.

He was retired from the Missouri National Guard. He restored classic automobiles. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, California, Lutheran Laymen's League and the Mid-MO Old Car Club.

A 1960 graduate of Eugene High School, he graduated from Warrant Officers School.

Other survivors include: one son, Douglas G. Jungmeyer, Centertown; one daughter, Melanie Franklin, Syracuse, N.Y.; one brother, Robert Jungmeyer, Brazito; one sister, Linda Hall, Brazito; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, California. The Rev. Peter Kurowski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Scholarship Fund or the St. Paul's Lutheran Hour Ministry, c/o St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 207 N. Owens, California, Mo. 65018; or a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
