LANE
Novella R. Lane, 85, Jefferson City, died June 29, 2001, at the Jefferson City Manor Nursing Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Capital City Christian Church. The Rev. Gary Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Capital City Christian Church.
REICHEL
Mary Reichel, 87, California, Mo., died June 30, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born March 9, 1914, near Centertown, a daughter of John and Julia Bruto Leonard. She was married May 8, 1948, to John Leonard, who died June 9, 1975.
She attended Sweetwater School near McGirk. She worked at Ralston-Purina, now Cargill, until her retirement in 1975.
She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, California, and a member of the Altar and Rosary Sodality. She also was a member of the Inspiration Extension Club, the Union WPFA Club, the California Area Senior Citizens, and was instrumental in starting the Union 4-H.
Survivors include: one son, John Reichel, McGirk; one brother, Herman "Pat" Leonard, Centertown; one sister, Jo Wingate, California; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Annunciation Catholic Church. The Rev. Francis Gillgannon will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, with prayer service at 7 p.m.
SAINE
Mildred C. (Millie) Saine, 78, Laurie, died June 30, 2001, at the Laurie Care Center.
She was born May 14, 1923, in Independence, Kan., a daughter of Willard and Mable Hurd Gibson.
She was a homemaker and secretary.
Survivors include: one son, Richard Caldwell, Laurie; two brothers, Stan Gibson and Leland Gibson, both of Covina, Calif.; one sister, Doris Dinkins, Versailles; one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gary.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery, Laurie. The Rev. Jim Lawley will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
SMITH
Malik J. Smith, 2, Jefferson City, died June 28, 2001, at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center, Columbia.
He was born June 25, 1999, in Columbia, a son of Henry J. and Jeemol John Smith, who both survive of the home.
Other survivors include: four half-brothers, Phil McCoy, Kansas City, D'Andre Easley, state of Oklahoma, Henry J. Smith Jr., St. Louis, and Marcco D. Smith, Atlanta; paternal grandmother, Myrtle M. Smith, Belleville, Ill.; maternal grandmother, Mercy Peter, Jefferson City; and maternal great-grandmother, Sarah Peter, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Freeman Chapel. The Rev. Joseph Corel will officiate. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Association.
TERRELL-McMULLEN
Katie Louise Terrell-McMullen, 12, Akron, Colo., formerly of Jamestown, died June 22, 2001, as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident near Merino, Colo.
She was born Aug. 8, 1988, in Columbia, a daughter of Tina Louis Anderson, who survives of the home with step-father Glenn "Mack" McMullen, Akron, Colo.
She was a student at Jamestown C-1 School and would have started Sterling Middle School, Sterling, Colo., this fall.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, near Centertown, and attended the First Assembly of God Church, Akron, Colo. She was a member of Missionettes, Girl Scouts and school band.
Other survivors include: three brothers, Butch Terrell, Jamestown, Chris Langan, Burlington, Colo., and Jeremy Tidquist, Eads, Colo.; one sister, Mary Kristensen, Brighton, Colo.; and maternal grandparents, Bob and Louise Anderson, Jamestown.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bowling-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Chester Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Jamestown.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services.

THRELKELD
Mary E. Threlkeld, 90, Jefferson City, died June 29, 2001, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Sept. 24, 1910, in New London, a daughter of Dr. George F. and May Megown Watson. She was married Sept. 8, 1935, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Glenn M. "Dude" Threlkeld, who died Aug. 2, 1990.
She was a 1927 graduate of New London High School and received her graduate degree in education from the University of Missouri in 1953, where she was a member of the Pi Lamda Theta honorary sorority and the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
She was a teacher in New London for seven years and with Simonsen Junior High for more than 20 years until her retiring in 1975. She was a member of the First Christian church and was a lifetime member of the Cole County Historical Society, the Missouri Teacher's Association and the University of Missouri Alumnae.
Survivors include: two nieces, Christine Waldmeier, Center, and Jane Clark, Springfield, and two nephews, Dennis Watson, New London, and Daniel Lee Watson, Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one son, Glenn McCannan Threlkeld.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Barkley Cemetery, New London. The Rev. Lawrence W. Veatch will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
PEMBERTON
Cloe Phyllis DeVore Pemberton, 86, Brumley, died June 30, 2001 at Breech Regional Medical Center, Lebanon.
She was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Brumley, a daughter of Lee and Minnie Burris DeVore. She was married Sept. 1, 1932, in Miller County to James Arthur Pemberton, who died Nov. 11, 1997.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Union Church of Christ, near Brumley. She was a former member of the Brumley Fireflies, the Iberia Saddle Club and the Miller County Fox Hunters Association.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jo Anne Veasman, St. Robert; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one infant son, James Robert Pemberton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Gott Cemetery, near Ulman.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
BELL
Charles Henry Bell, 80, Williamsburg, died July 1, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Fulton, a son of John and Stella Salmons Bell. He was married May 8, 1960, in Fulton, to Lillian Rose, who survives at the home.
He worked as a truck driver and factory worker for the Fulton Shoe Company. He also worked at McGee Packing Co., and as a security guard at A.P. Green, Inc.
Other survivors include: two sons, Roger Elder, Fulton, and Chuck Morgan, Montgomery City; two daughters, Loretta Grissom, Moulton, Ala., and Lois Brady, Franklin, N.C.; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will 11 a.m., Thursday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery, Calwood.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

BLOOMER
Madeline Bloomer, 75, Jefferson City, died June 30, 2001, at Jefferson City Manor Nursing Home.
She was born June 4, 1926, in Cedar City, a daughter of Gilford H. and Elizabeth Smallwood Nichols. She was married Sept. 13, 1947, in Cedar City to Walter V. Bloomer, who died Nov. 20, 1972.
She attended school in Cedar City and Holts Summit and was a member of Solid Rock Family Church.
She worked at Charles E. Still Hospital before retiring in 1973.
Survivors include: two sons, Darrell L. Nichols, Jefferson City, and Warren G. Bloomer, Holts Summit; three daughters, Brenda J. Dorsey, Tebbetts, Linda Coots and Connie Hayden, both of Holts Summit; two sisters, Velma Barnard, Holts Summit, and Valda Lane, Jefferson City; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
One son, Charles V. Bloomer, died in 1967 and one grandchild, Cindy Bloomer Enochs, died in 1996.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Solid Rock Family Church. The Rev. Joseph Skiles will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery, Holts Summit.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Solid Rock Family Church.
MARSHALL
Thomas R. Marshall, 51, Osage Beach, died June 29, 2001, at his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1949, in St. Louis, a son of George and Ella Ruhe Marshall. His mother survives in Glendale.
He was manager of Imo's Pizza, Osage Beach.
Other survivors include: his maternal grandmother, Charlotte Doxsee, Glendale; one brother, George Marshall Jr., Ashland; and one sister, Ann Birtley, Glendale.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Webster Groves.
