WHITE
Helen E. White , 81, Stover, died July 2, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Hillsdale, Ill. She was married Jan. 5, 1951, in Yuma, Ariz., to Oran L. White , who died May 15, 1976.
She was a homemaker and worked on a dairy farm. She worked at Cree-Mee and was a clerk for G&W Lumber Company, both in Stover.
Survivors include: two sons, Lyle White , Kansas City, and Loran White , Lincoln; two daughters, Valerie Schultz, Sedalia, and Vanessa White , Kansas City; three brothers, Fred Ruhnow, Bill Ruhnow and Robert Ruhnow, all of the state Illinois; two sisters, Louise Simpson and Ruth Ruhnow, both of the state of Illinois; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to Stover Cemetery.
PEWITT
Graveside services were June 28 for Verna Virginia Pewitt, 101, formerly of Van Buren, who died June 24, 2001, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 31, 1899, in Miami, Okla., a daughter of Charley and Lucy Murray Crow. She was married in 1919, to Seaton Pewitt, who died in 1969.
She lived in Kansas City, Belton, Waynesville, Chamois, Linn and Van Buren. She owned and operated a funeral home in Van Buren. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Ellington Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Pewitt, Ellington; one daughter, Lena Kliethermes, Jefferson City; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
One son, Bion Pewitt, and one daughter, Virginia Jackson, preceded her in death.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCombs Funeral Home, Jackson.
GERHART
Louis Edward "Lukie" Gerhart, 83, Eldon, died July 2, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 25, 1918, in California, a son of Thomas Nicholas and Mary Elizabeth Bailey Gerhart. He was married Nov. 23, 1938, in Eldon, to Virginia Lawson, who survives at the home.
He worked for the Missouri Utilities Company in Eldon and Pilot Grove until he retired in 1981. He also built and owned the El-Donna Motel, Eldon, and was a real estate developer and building owner. He was a member of the Eldon Kiwanis Club.
Other survivors include: one son, Billy Lynn Gerhart, Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Sue Gerhart Kikis, Spring, Texas ; one brother, Raymond Gerhart, California; two sisters, Ruth Ashel, California, and Margaret Woolf, Raytown; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will be in the California Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Building Fund of the First Christian Church, First and Aurora Street, Eldon, 65026.
DAINS
Norman Richard Dains, 60, Williamsburg, died July 2, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1940, in St. Louis, a son of Harry and Sadie Presley Dains. He was married June 5, 1999, in Williamsburg, to Patricia Wier, who survives at the home.
He was a member of the Teamster Local 682; Fraternal Order of Eagles of Jefferson City; and former member of Do-Dads. He was employed as a concrete truck driver.
Other survivors include: one son, Roger Dains, Williamsburg; one daughter, Shari Dains, Denver; two stepsons, Brian Collins, Wichita Falls, Texas , and Keith Collins, Graham, Texas ; one stepdaughter, Kimberly Cutright, O'Fallon; one brother, Robert Dains, Florissant; and two grandchildren.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Readsville Bethel Methodist Church, Readsville. The Rev. Ed Saferite will officiate.
Visitation is noon-1 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to Mid-Missouri Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
CLARK
Orville Lee Clark, 61, Tuscumbia, died July 3, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 21, 1939, in Tuscumbia, a son of Thomas Arthur and Mildred Cecil Edwards Clark. He was married June 14, 1958, in Eldon, to Ruth Carlene Campbell, who survives at the home.
He was a member of Humphreys Creek Church, near Capps, and attended First Christian Church, Tuscumbia. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He worked for Amerine National Turkey Farms, California state, and Pluss Poultry and Con Agra Meat Ranch, both in Colorado state. He returned to Tuscumbia in 1989.
Other survivors include: two sons, Richard Clark, Tuscumbia, and James Randall Clark, Delphos, Kan.; one daughter, Christy Lynne Valdez, Ozark; one brother, Jim Clark, Tuscumbia; three sisters, Coleen Annett and Glenda Wilson, Tuscumbia, and Linda Ruff, Springfield; and nine grandchildren.
A daughter, Robin Faye Clark, preceded him in death.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Tuscumbia First Christian Church. The Rev. Gene Edward will officiate. Burial will be in Capps Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia, and 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church.
CLARK
Carrol Junior Clark, 75, Iberia, died July 5, 2001, at his home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Tuscumbia, a son of Carrol and Maude Snellings Clark. He was married Nov. 9, 1948, in Bentown, to Nellie Jeanette Maylee, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer and worked for Anchor Mill, Tuscumbia, until his retirement. He was a Baptist.
Other survivors include: two sons, Howard Clark, Tuscumbia, and Ronnie Clark, Mexico; two daughters, Betty Barker, Brumley, and Shirley Wilson, Iberia; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery, near Ulman.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
DAVIES
Barbara "Bobbye" Davies, 62, Lake Ozark, died June 29, 2001, at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center, Houston, Texas .
She was born July 28, 1938, in Birmingham, Ala., a daughter of George and Margaret Mayfield Welch. She was married Dec. 31, 1960, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., to Douglas C. Davies Sr., who died Sept. 22, 2000.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one son, Douglas C. Davies Jr., Lake Ozark; one daughter, Wendy Lynn Dreyer, Houston, Texas ; two sisters, Patty Priest, Hawaii, and Betty Brown, Crowley, La.; and three grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Roger Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osage Beach.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday.
GOETZ
Frank Goetz, 93, Sedalia, formerly of Camdenton, died July 2, 2001, at Four Seasons Care Center, Sedalia.
He was born Nov. 3, 1907, in Otterville, a son of Frank B. and Laura Ann Yates Goetz. He was married July 3, 1939 to Mildred Grace Leach, who died March 5, 1980.
He attended the World Wide Church of God, Eldon. He worked at Bryant Motor Company, Sedalia, until retiring in 1969 and moving to Lake of the Ozarks.
Survivors include: three sons, George Goetz, Sedalia, Bob Goetz, Millersburg, and Ron Goetz, Snellville, Ga.; one daughter, Lelah Harvey, Sedalia; 11 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles F. Goetz.
Services will be held at the graveside at 11 a.m. Friday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Otterville. William Oswald will officiate.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
HAGENHOFF
Daniel Andrew Hagenhoff, 27, Meta, died July 3, 2001, at University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia.
He was born Feb. 5, 1974, in Jefferson City, a son of Herman and Carol Colvin Hagenhoff. His parents survive in St. Elizabeth. He was married Nov. 6, 1999, in St. Anthony, to Patti Engelmeyer, who survives at the home.
He was a 1992 graduate of St. Elizabeth High School and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth.
He was a farmer and worked as a forklift driver for Diamond Pet Foods, Meta, and previously worked for Patio Chef, Meta.
He also is survived by his maternal grandmother, Helen Colvin, Jefferson City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian Driscoll will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the St. Elizabeth Community Center, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, St. Elizabeth.
LANE
Raymond J. "Pat" Lane, 87, Jefferson City, died July 3, 2001, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital, Columbia.
He was born May 1, 1914, in Bloomfield, a son of Prince Alpha and Etta Ann Harper Lane. He was married Oct. 15, 1938, in Bloomfield, to Novella Christian, who died June 29, 2001.
He attended school in Rural Stoddard County.
He was a member of the Capital City Christian Church, and the Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Puxico.
Survivors include: one son, Jerry L. Lane, Jefferson City; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Capital City Christian Church. The Revs. Gary Baker and John Tarbet will officiate. Graveside services and burial with military honors will be at Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary.
