BOOTH

Mary A. Booth, 90,  Jefferson City, died May 17, 1999, at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.

She was born July 31, 1908, in Osage Bend, a daughter of Frank I. and Amelia Kraus Huhman. She was married May 29, 1935, in Bowling Green, to Lester P. "Jack" Booth, who died Aug. 12, 1964.

A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she attended school in Osage Bend. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Cathedral.

Survivors include three sisters, Jean E. Sommerer and Beatrice E. Forck, both of  Jefferson City, and Agnes G. Gerling, Mexico.

One son, Phillip C. Booth, died Aug. 25, 1968.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Rev. Michael Wilbers will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph's Home for the Aged or to a charity of the donor's choice.

HUETTENMEYER

Ruby L. Huettenmeyer, 82,  Jefferson City, died May 17, 1999, at Christian Northeast Hospital, St. Louis.

She was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Lohman, a daughter of William and Mathilda Goldammer Linsenbardt. She was married June 8, 1939, in Lohman, to Ralph Huettenmeyer, who died Aug. 25, 1986.

She attended school in Lohman. She was a cook for the  Jefferson City Public Schools until her retirement.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Evening Guild, Ladies Auxiliary and Circle 4.

Survivors include: one son, Jim Huettenmeyer, St. Louis; one daughter, Judy Niederwimmer, Florissant; three sisters, Nadine Fischer, Alice Walquist and Mabel Henderson, all of  Jefferson City; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.

SMITH

LeeAnna Smith, 61, California, died May 16, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born March 5, 1938, in Indianapolis, a daughter of Ralph L. and Dorothy Bernice Kemp Shaw. She was married Oct. 31, 1968, in Los Angeles, to Charles L. "Jack" Smith Jr., who survives at the home.

A graduate of Indianapolis High School, she was a homemaker. She worked in Los Angeles until she moved to  Jefferson City, where she was employed as a hotel reservation clerk at Hotel Governor from 1977 to 1989. She then worked at  Jefferson City Day Care Center until her retirement.

She was a member of Westview Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: three sons, Mark L. Christy, Orange, Conn., Dennis R. Smith, Russellville, and Michael E. Riehl,  Jefferson City; four daughters, April L. Thompson,  Jefferson City, Dorothy S. Cardwell and Julia G. Redel, both of California, and Margarete Riehl, Fordland; one sister, Cathy Bernice Koepke, Reno, Nev.; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Michael Hearst will officiate. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation.

VATERLAUS

Gary Wayne Vaterlaus, 53, Lohman, died May 17, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Sept. 2, 1945, in St. Louis, a son of Norman and Susan Gwendolyn Stone Anderson. He was married Sept. 10, 1993, in  Jefferson City, to Mary Helen Bracher, who survives at the home.

A Navy veteran, he was employed with the railroad for 31 years. He began his career with the Cotton Belt Railroad and currently was working for Union Pacific.

He was a member of the United Transportation Union, Local 933. He did volunteer and charity work as Santa Claus for various area organizations during the holiday seasons since 1981.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Brenda Ann Babb, Sierra Dawn Bracher, Vicky Dean Beasley and Garylyn Barlow; three sons, Robert Joseph Miller, Michael John Miller and Dakota "Cody" Taylor; one brother, James Norman Anderson, Eldon; and 15 grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville. The Rev. Brendan Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, near Eugene.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to Mary Vaterlaus, c/o Missouri National Guard Credit Union, 2009, Shotthill Woods Drive,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65101.

TAYLOR

L. Nadine Taylor, 74,  Jefferson City, died May 18, 1999, at her home.

She was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Aurora, a daughter of Orville F. and Bessie C. Stewart O'Kelley. She was married Nov. 8, 1945, in Bremerton, Wash., to Marion Jackson "Jack" Taylor, who died Aug. 10, 1987.

She was a graduate of Picher High School, Picher, Okla. She also was a graduate of the  Jefferson City School of Licensed Practical Nursing. She was an LPN at St. Marys Health Center. A homemaker, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the VFW 1003 Auxiliary.

Survivors include: one son, Marion Dean Taylor, Kansas City; two daughters, Donita Taylor, Kansas City, and Deborah Shelton-Trenary,  Jefferson City; five grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Greg Higley will officiate. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to Camp Wonderland.

BATES

Mary Frances Bates, 68,  Jefferson City, died May 18, 1999, at her home.

She was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Thayer, a daughter of Mentral and Bessie Springfield Barnett. She was married in 1947 to Willard Jackson Bates, who died July 10, 1969.

She attended Thayer schools. She was a member of the Oral Roberts Association and the 700 Club.

Survivors include: three sons, Danny Bates, Thayer, James Bates, Meredosia, Ill., and William Bates, Osage Beach; five daughters, Barbara Hovland, Truxton, and Jenny Bates, Virginia Bates, Melissa Riddle and Joyce Duncan, all of  Jefferson City; one brother, Willie Barnett, St. Charles; three sisters, Velma Welch and Dorothy Underwood, both of Warrenton, and Glenda Bower, Truxton; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

One son, Timothy Bates, died in 1986.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

BLUME

William J. Blume, 71, Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of  Jefferson City, died May 19, 1999 at Community Hospital East, Indianapolis.

He was born Aug. 27, 1927, in  Jefferson City, a son of Clarence and Edith Blume. He was married to Sarah F. Dowling, who survives at the home.

A graduate of St. Louis University, he was an estimator for Ryerson Steel Co. for 36 years. He retired in 1991. He was a Navy veteran and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Indianapolis, and Fatima Council Knights of Columbus.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Laura F. Daniels, Indianapolis; one son, Christopher J. Blume, Indianapolis; one sister, Virginia Rackers, Indianapolis; two brothers, Clarence Blume and Fred Blume, both of Indianapolis; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Moore and Kirk Funeral Home, Indianapolis, and at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Indianapolis.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or Our Lady of Lourdes School.

HOLDER

Carolyn Lee Holder, 57, McGirk, died May 19, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born March 12, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of Ray and Bernice Cluckey. She was married Feb. 1, 1976, in Las Vegas, to Jim "Duke" Holder, who survives at the home.

She earned her GED and attended Long Beach City College, Long Beach, Calif. She was a hairdresser, taught cosmetology in the state of California and was a past president of Cosmetology Association of Missouri. She was a Lutheran.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Maria Annette Smith, Lohman; one son, Frederick Charles Barnoske III, Clearwater, Fla.; one sister, Marlene Mackey, California; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Mike Hearst will officiate. Burial will be in Centertown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, 1316 Parkade Blvd., P.O. Box 1013, Columbia, Mo. 65205.

HUNT

Clo Hunt, 89, Tahlequah, Okla., died May 18, 1999, at Tahlequah City Hospital.

She was born Jan. 9, 1910, in Powell, a daughter of E.E. and Montez Euola Moore Payne. She was married April 23, 1931, in Poteau, Okla., to William Thomas "Bill" Hunt, who died Oct. 5, 1989.

A graduate of Northeastern ( Oklahoma) State University, she taught school from 1927-1973. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints of Tahlequah. She also was active in the visitation group, Kappa Kappa Iota, the Gleaners,  Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, the Cherokee County Election Board, and the Park Hill Extension Homemakers, where she was elected Past Homemaker of the Year for 1986.

Survivors include: one son, Gary Hunt,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Montez Kirkpatrick and Twyla Brewer, both of Tahlequah; one sister, Euola Mutzig, Tahlequah; 13 grandchildren; one adopted granddaughter and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hart Funeral Home, Tahlequah. Bishop Bill Enkey will officiate.
