HART
Frank Hart Jr., 80, Camdenton, died July 10, 2001, at Laurie Care Center, Laurie.
He was born Sept. 24, 1920, in Cleburne, Texas , a son of Frank Sr. and Bea Eisenburg Hart. He was married to Lucille Hart, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from high school in Cleburne. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He lived in Dallas and worked as a press foreman at the Dallas Times Herald until his retirement. He moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 1988.
He was a member of the Scottish Rite, the High Noon Club, Dallas; Hella Temple, Garland; Camdenton VFW; and the Elks Lodge, Laurie.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Laurel Land Funeral Home, Dallas. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
BARLOW
Fred Barlow, 16, Syracuse, died July 8, 2001, in Benton County, Minn., from an accidental drowning.
He was born June 17, 1985, in Jefferson City. His parents, James W. and Rhonda Dahlstein Stewart, survive at the home.
He was a member of the Christian faith.
He attended Tipton High School where he had completed his sophomore year and was a member of the DECA Club. He worked at Mazzio's Pizza, Tipton.
Other survivors include: one brother, Brian Barlow, of the home; two sisters, Sonja Barlow, Kansas City, and Kim Dahlstein, of the home; his grandfather, Bill Dahlstein, California; and his grandmother, Betty Stewart, California;.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Frank Goosie will officiate. Burial will be in St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial are suggested to the Tipton Library Fund -- in memory of Fred Barlow, in care of Tipton High School, Tipton, Mo. 65081.
DUNCAN
Services were today for Joyce L. Duncan, 52, Montreal, who died July 9, 2001, at her home.
She was born Feb. 4, 1949, in Montreal, a daughter of Clyde and Jessie Perkins Webster. Her mother survives in Montreal. She was married Sept. 21, 1966, in Hawkeye, to Donnie Duncan, who survives at the home.
She was a beautician.
Other survivors include: one son, Michael Duncan, Lebanon; one daughter, Rachel Duncan, Montreal; two brothers, Bob Webster and Bill Webster, both of Richland; one sister, Judy Webster, Montreal; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were in Buffalo Prairie Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
HINSON
Crethen Humphrey Hinson, 90, Iberia, died July 9, 2001, at the Forum of Overland Park Nursing Home, Overland Park, Kan.
She was born Feb. 6, 1911, near Iberia, a daughter of Anville and Laura Atwell Humphrey. She was married May 9, 1936, in Granite City, Ill., to Hezzy Clay Hinson, who died Feb. 23, 1986.
She attended the Iberia Academy before moving to St. Louis, where she graduated from Beaumont High School. She worked at Forum Cafeteria, St. Louis. She had lived in Granite City, Ill., before returing to the Iberia area in 1945. She was a seamstress at Fashion Studio, Jefferson City.
She was a lifelong member of the Brays Advent Christian Church where she was a Sunday school secretary and teacher. She quilted with the women's auxiliary and participated in the Sunday School Class 2. She was a member of the Iberia Chapter of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include: one daughter, Leta Tyhurst, Grandview; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brays Advent Christian Church, near Iberia. The Rev. Earl Skidds will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Brays Advent Christian Church or Union Cemetery.
HOPKINS
Norvell W. Hopkins, 93, Westphalia, died July 10, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born March 31, 1908, in the state of Kansas, a son of Will and Nannie Shannon Hopkins. He was married in 1939 in St. Louis, to Nanette T. Thomas, who died in October 1994.
He owned and operated Hopkins and Hopkins Construction Company, St. Louis, until his retirement in the late 1970s.
Survivors include: one brother, Vance Hopkins, Westphalia; and one sister, Lucille James, St. Louis.
Private family services will be held.
Memorials are suggested to St. Louis University.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
PLEMMONS
Doxie Plemmons, 85, Crocker, died July 10, 2001, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.
She was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Brumley, a daughter of James and Cytha George Jeffries. She was married March 7, 1934, in Camdenton, to Eugene Edgar Plemmons, who died Nov. 3, 1989.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one son, David Plemmons, Wright City; three daughters, Dorothy Wilson, Crocker, Lorraine Hickman, St. Louis, and Shirley Neal, Centerview; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Long Funeral Home, Crocker. Burial will be in Hawkins Cemetery, Brumley.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Hawkins Cemetery, Brumley.
RHODES
Roger D. Rhodes, 31, Jefferson City, died July 9, 2001, at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1970, in Tuscumbia, a son of Walter J. and LaVerne R. Bax Rhodes. His parents survive in Jefferson City.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, he attended Immaculate Conception School and Jefferson City public schools. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
He was a co-owner of A&W Tree and Landscaping Service for many years.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Jessica Rhodes, Jefferson City; three sisters, Lisa Gilley, Peggy Rhodes and Virginia Rhodes, all of Jefferson City; and one brother, Robert Rhodes, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Gregory Higley will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
ROTHOVE
Herman Henry Rothove, 74, Westphalia, died July 10, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Folk, a son of Herman H. Sr. and Regina Scheppers Rothove. He was married May 7, 1952, in Folk, to Mary Ann Brester, who survives at the home.
He attended Catholic schools in Westphalia and Folk. He was a carpenter. He worked 20 years for Truman Walker Construction Co.; six years for Hubert Rothove Construction Co.; seven years for Bernard Altheuser Construction Co.; and seven years for Donald Strope Construction Co. He retired in 1990.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, and the Men's Sodality.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Doris Boes and Peggy Fechtel, both of Westphalia, and Carol Rothove, Jefferson City; three sons, John Rothove, Westphalia, Steve Rothove, Jackson, Mich., and Bill Rothove, Frankenstein; two sisters, Florence Feltrop and Dorothy Even, both of Westphalia; one brother, Rudolph Rothove, Folk; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Missouri River Hospice, 1440 Aaron Ct., Jefferson City, Mo. 65101; or to Masses.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia.
EARL
Services were today for Robert Lee Earl, 49, Carrington, who died July 8, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1951, in Chicago, a son of Harry W. and Emma P. Pace Earl. He was married July 3, 1983, in Jefferson City, to Judy Barnett, who died Nov. 7, 2000.
He graduated from Marconi High School, Chicago. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he worked as a corrections officer for the State of Missouri Department of Corrections.
Survivors include: one stepdaughter, Geneva Pierson, Carrington; one stepson, Mark Bedford, Guthrie; one brother, John P. Pace, Union; two sisters, Linda J. Earl, Bolingbrook, Ill., and Patricia A. Michalik, Bensenville, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
One daughter, Debra Tinsley, died Sept. 18, 2000. One grandchild also preceded him in death.
Graveside services with military honors were in Jefferson City National Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
