NEFF
Jennie May Neff, 98, Jefferson City, died Aug. 2, 2001, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Jan. 1, 1903, in Beth-any, a daughter of William and Minnie Scho-field Clark.
She was married March 27, 1927, in Chicago, to Victor Dean Neff, who died in February 1973.
She was a graduate of St. Louis City Hospital School for Nurses. A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she was a registered nurse at St. Marys Hospital.
She then worked at Memorial Community Hospital for 13 years until her retirement in 1969.
Survivors include one daughter, Joann Beck, St. Louis, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One son, Tell Neff, died March 19, 2001, and one daughter, Jennie Sue Fletcher, died in January 1973.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Janet Hoyland will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
GLENN
Dicy Glenn, 86, California, died Aug. 2, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
Arrangements are incomplete at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
SCHANTZ
Services for LeRoy F. Schantz, 82, Mexico, who died June 3, 2001, will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 19, 2001, at First Presbyterian Church, Neosho. The Rev. Judith Henderson will officiate. Burial was June 5 in Neosho IOOF Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
BURKETT
Thomas C. Burkett Jr., 74, New Bloomfield, died Aug. 3, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
Thomas is survived by one sister, Margaret Royle, Jefferson City.
Arrangements are incomplete at Freeman Mortuary.
ROOMSBURG
Helen Rose Roomsburg, 75, Sunrise Beach, died Aug. 1, 2001, at her home.
She was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Joseph E. and Naomi Young Nicholl. She was married to Marion Murray, who died Feb. 14, 1956. She was married May 20, 1957, to Alfred C. Roomsburg, who survives at the home.
She was a beautician.
She worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Civil Service during World War II.
Other survivors include: one son, Edward L. Murray, Sunrise Beach; one daughter, Marilyn Sue DiPlacito, Yuba City, Calif.; three brothers, Bill Nicholl, Salt Lake City, Cal Nicholl, San Diego, and Jack Nicholl, Utica, N.Y.; two sisters, Dawn Thomas, Lakewood, Calif., and Dorothy Lawrence, Hermitage; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. The Rev. James Lawley will officiate. Entombment will be at a later date in Garber Memorial Columbarium, Laurie.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.
DECKER
Kelly W. "Bill" Decker, 78, Versailles, died Aug. 4, 2001, at the Medical Lodge-North, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Dec. 17, 1922, in St. Joseph, a son of Claude and Orphia Marriott Decker. He was married Feb. 8, 1947, in Kansas City to Betty Jane Small, who preceded him in death March 14, 1991.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He worked for the Hobart Corporation, Kansas City, for 25 years and retired from Fasco, Eldon. He moved to Versailles in 1976. He had been a member of the Lawson Baptist Church, Lawson, and was a member of the West Union Baptist Church, Versailles.
Survivors include two sons, James Decker, Independence, and John Decker, Marysville, Tenn.; three daughters, Mary Jane Slowik, Anchor Bay, Calif., Judy White , Excelsior Springs, and Amy Decker, Merriam, Kan.; one brother, Rex Decker, Versailles; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the West Union Baptist Church, Hwy. 5 south of Versailles. The Rev. Rod Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles.
Memorials are suggested to the West Union Baptist Church.
MCKINNON
Adrian McKinnon, 83, Rolla, died Aug. 4, 2001, in the Heritage park Skilled Care, Rolla, after three year of failing health.
He was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Pulaski County near Dixon, a son of Fred and Maud Ray McKinnon. He was married July 19, 1941, in Union, to Margie Hughes, who survives at the home.
He was a 1936 graduate of Dixon High School. He attended Rankin Trade School, St. Louis. He was a U.S. military veteran, serving in World War II. He worked at Missouri Rolling Mill, St. Louis, as a maintenance mechanic. He moved to Rolla in 1987. He was baptized in 1953 at Lindenwood Baptist Church, St. Louis, and was a member of Salem Avenue Baptist Church, Rolla. He was a volunteer worker at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, and was a lifetime member of the United Steel Workers, Local No. 1023, St. Louis.
Other survivors include two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ralph McKinnon on May 10, 1982.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. The Rev. Kevin Payne will officiate. Burial will be in the Dixon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. today and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Dixon Scholarship Fund.
WOOD
Melva Ludean Wood, 75, Versailles, died Aug. 3, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born March 15, 1925, in Versailles, the daughter of Robert E. and Sarah McGinnis Cooper. She was married March 16, 1942, to Ralph H. Wood, who died April 16, 1987.
She lived in Klamath Falls, Ore., until her husband's death, then returned to Versailles. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy Wood, Klamath Falls, Ore., and Donald Wood, Sedalia; a brother, Robert, Eldon; a sister, Frances, Versailles; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Harley Wood.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
SUNDERMEYER
August V. "Tiny" Sundermeyer, 77, Holts Summit, died Aug. 4, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Callaway County, a son of August F. and Sarah Tillery Sundermeyer. He was married Sept. 24, 1955, in Jefferson City, to Betty Joe Fischer, who died Aug. 9, 1995.
He attended the Halifax School and operated City Service from 1948 to 1965. He then worked at several area institutions of the Missouri Department of Corrections until his retirement in 1989.
He was a member of Central United Church of Christ and a charter member of the Cedar City Lions Club.
Survivors include: one daughter, Susan Poettgen, Taos; one son, Jim Sundermeyer, Jefferson City; one brother, Harold "Cap" Sundermeyer, Holts Summit; four sisters, Ruby Nichols and Emma Smith, both of Holts Summit, Agnes Kieselbach, state of Missouri, and Bessie Lutz, McGirk; and three grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Jefferson City. The Rev. Stephen H. Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Hart Hill Cemetery Association or the Missouri Lions Eye Tissue Bank.
BURNS
Florence Burns, 80, Camdenton, died Aug. 5, 2001, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Riverton, Wyo., a daughter of Barton W. and Edna Stanturf Tattershall. She was married Aug. 27, 1971, to John E. Burns, who survives at the home.
A graduate of Wyandotte County High School, she worked at the bomber plant in Kansas City during World War II. She did secretarial work for most of her life.
She was a member of Kent Memorial Lutheran Church, Sunrise Beach, and the W.E.L.C.A. She sang in the church choir and was one of the Kent Clowns.
Other survivors include: one son, David Linkey, Logan, Utah; two daughters, Judy Kay Newland, Sunrise Beach, and Betty Jo LaRock, Camdenton; two brothers, Gerald Tattershall, Keystone Heights, Fla., and Richard Tattershall, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Marjorie Vencil, Sunrise Beach, and Betty Miller, Parachute, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kent Memorial Lutheran Church. The Rev. Eugene A. Moll will officiate. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
