JAMES
Jean B. James, 73, Ashland, died Aug. 4, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born Aug. 24, 1927, a daughter of George C. and Nora A. Houston Shoemaker. She was married Jan. 23, 1947, in Eldon, to John Shackelford, who preceded her in death. She was married Dec. 5, 1960, in Eldon, to Remus Wade James, who died April 16, 1994.
She was a homemaker and a member of TOPS in Ashland.
Survivors include: three sons, Terry John Shackelford, Columbia, Joseph Dennis James, Ashland, and Michael Wade James, Hartsburg; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. Wallace Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
WELLS
J. Delbert Wells, 87, Jefferson City, died Aug. 6, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Guymon, Okla., a son of Rolley L. and Anna Cora Monroe Wells. He was married Aug. 21, 1935, in Guymon, to Guila Delano, who survives at the home.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Panhandle A. & M. College and a master's degree and a teaching certificate from Oklahoma State University. A teacher and a farmer, he worked for several farm bureaus and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of the Agribusiness and Rural Affairs Committee; First United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school; the Jefferson City Council; Jefferson City Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons; Rotary Club; and Masonic Lodge 43, A.F. & A.M.
He was on the board of the Cole County Nutrition Council; Board of Gambrill Gardens Methodist Home; the Jefferson City Police Board; and the Jefferson City Police Personnel Board.
Other survivors include: three sons, Ronald Wells, Ponca City, Okla., Robert Wells, Brownsburg, Ind., and Dennis Wells, Algonquin, Ill.; one daughter, Donna Coon, Dewitt, Mich.; one brother, Lewis Wells, Plains, Kan.; one sister, Elinor Keesling, Newton, Kan.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One son, Duane Alan Wells, died Oct. 16, 1989.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark West will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or the Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
DUNKLEE
Minnie Audrey Dunklee, 87, Gravois Mills, died Aug. 4, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born June 5, 1914, in Colterville, Ill. She was married Dec. 17, 1983, to Rick F. "Dick" Dunklee, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Gravois Mills United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include: two stepsons, Dennis R. Dunklee, Haymarket, Va., and David A. Dunklee, Gravois Mills; five step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Sidney Robbins will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
HOEMEYER
Chelsea Hoemeyer, 17, Linn Creek, died Aug. 4, 2001, near Camdenton from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Dec. 15, 1983, in Osage Beach, a daughter of Robert and Kathy Santelman Hoemeyer. Her parents survive at the home.
She attended Camdenton High School. She was a member of the Peer Support Group and Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach.
Other survivors include: paternal grandmother, Luella Hoemeyer, Union; and maternal grandparents, Ken and Marcy Santelman, Hutchinson, Minn.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Camdenton High School. The Rev. M. Christy Oetting will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the high school.
Memorials are suggested to the Chelsea Hoemeyer Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
WALKER
Gerald Walker, 69, Gulfport, Miss., died Aug. 5, 2001, in Gulfport.
He was born Oct. 8, 1931, in New Orleans. He was married to Lucy Walker, who survives at the home.
A Catholic, he was a retired businessman and served in the Army.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Patricia Thiele, Sterling, Alaska, Linda Mirts, Jefferson City, and Karen Billinger, Independence; one son, Michael Walker, Slidell, La.; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, Miss.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Gulfport.
BAUER
Bertha Mary Bauer, 95, Jefferson City, died Aug. 7, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born March 8, 1906, in Rich Fountain, a daughter of Adolph and Sybilla Iven Klebba. She was married Aug. 11, 1926, in Rich Fountain, to Paul Herman Bauer, who died June 2, 1948.
She was employed by Jefferson City Bakery, Newberry's Store and Mattingly's Store. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality.
Survivors include: one daughter, Rosemary A. Novak, Jefferson City; one son, Robert L. Bauer, Holts Summit; four grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren.
One granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Gregory L. Higley will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be from 2-3 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Home for the Aged.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Building Fund, St. Joseph Home for the Aged or Masses.
CLARK
Services were Saturday for Cleora L. "Cleo" Clark, 76, Lafayette, La., formerly of Bonnots Mill, who died Aug. 1, 2001, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Bonnots Mill, a daughter of Alfred and Belva Starr LeCure. She was married to Homer E. Clark Sr., who preceded her in death.
She was a resident of Lafayette for 50 years.
Survivors include: two daughters, Beverly Sonnier, Tucson, Ariz., and Gail Olivier, Lafayette; one son, Homer L. Clark Jr., Lafayette; three sisters, Geneva Bohannon, Margaret Veltrop and Melva McMillin, all of Jefferson City; two brothers, Tommy LeCure, Livingston, Texas , and Frank LeCure, Lafayette; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Harry Clark, and one granddaughter.
Services were at La Chapelle de Martin & Castille, Lafayette. Burial was in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

CAPESTRO
Richard Mark Capestro, 48, Tipton, died Aug. 6, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born June 16, 1953, in St. Louis, a son of David and Berniece Fitzgerald Capestro. His parents survive in Ellisville. He was married Feb. 16, 1973, in St. Louis, to Nancy Bowen, who survives at the home.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton; the Tipton Knights of Columbus; and the California Shooters Club. He was a USDA poultry grader. He moved to Tipton from Bonne Terre in 1989.
Other survivors include: two sons, Richard Mark Capestro Jr., Fulton, and Matthew Lee Capestro, Tipton; one daughter, Lisa Marie Capestro, Tipton; two brothers, David Alan Capestro, state of Florida, and Jeffrey John Capestro, House Springs; one sister, Linda Stockell, Eureka; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Church. The Rev. Henry Reichert will officiate. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus service.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or St. Andrew's School.
STONE
Leo Ralph Stone, 69, Eldridge, died Aug. 5, 2001, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
He was born Nov. 22, 1931, in Laclede County, a son of Elmer and Edith Moore Stone. He was married Aug. 18, 1956, in Argo, Iowa, to Janice D. Eickhoff, who survives at the home.
He was raised in Camdenton. He worked for International Harvester Farm All Plant, Rock Island, Ill., until his retirement in 1984. He lived in Arkansas and was a resident of Eldridge since 1996.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Shellie Stone, Banning, Calif.; three sons, Leon Stone, Altura, Minn., Dennis Stone, Minneapolis, and Rick Stone, Galesburg, Ill.; two brothers, Lenny Stone, Bettendorf, Iowa, and Calvin Stone, Camdenton; one sister, Jane Bradley, San Diego; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. J.R. McGuire will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
McALLISTER
Jodie McAllister, 30, Nixa, died Aug. 6, 2001, at her home.
