HELTON

Emma Helton, 98, Dixon, died Aug. 24, 2001, at McCoy Boarding Home, Dixon.

She was born Sept. 15, 1902, near Meta, a daughter of Abraham and Laura Barnhart Stokes. She was married Dec. 26, 1922, in Hermann, to Richard Lee Helton, who died Oct. 12, 1975.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Dixon. She worked at International Shoe Factory, Washington , and later on a farm.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Bro. Harold Withers and Bro. Phillip Tanner will officiate. Burial will be in Vienna Public Cemetery, Vienna.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday and from 9-10 a.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to Hillcrest Children's Home, Hot Springs, Ark.

LAUGHLIN

Sylvia Morton Laughlin, 91, Linn, died Aug. 11, 2001, at Lakeview Living Center, Pineville, N.C.

She was born June 5, 1910, in Cooper Hill, a daughter of Henry C. and Georgia Ann Brumble Morton. She was married in 1938 to Irvin Laughlin, who died April 7, 1971.

A homemaker, she graduated from college in Warrensburg. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Linn, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include: two sons, J.C. Laughlin, Linn, and Hubert B. Laughlin,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Delphine Vorbeck, Raytown, and Mary Ann McKenzie, Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Rachel Sylvia Laughlin, preceded her in death.

The remains were cremated. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Linn Memorial Park Cemetery, Linn. The Rev. Tony Townley will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Park Cemetery, Linn.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's United Methodist Church, Linn.

Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

WEDDLE

Jonalie McCroy Weddle, 49, Camdenton, died Aug. 23, 2001, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

She was born May 7, 1952, in Springfield, a daughter of John and Rosalie Bennett McCroy. Her father survives in Camdenton. She was married April 15, 1994, in Lebanon, to Dennis Wayne Weddle, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Jerilie McGuire, Camdenton; two stepsons, John Weddle, Rogersville, and Dennis Weddle, Ozark; two stepdaughters, Paula Weddle, Sparta, and Denise Welch, Lebanon; and one grandson.

One stepdaughter, Sherry Weddle, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Community Christian Church, Camdenton. The Rev. Tracy Carroll will officiate. Burial will be in Dale Blair Cemetery, Camdenton.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Community Christian Church, Camdenton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

DANIELS

Elva C. Daniels, 78, Holts Summit, formerly of Hannibal, died Aug. 23, 2001, at her home.

She was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Kinderhook, Ill., a daughter of George and M. Lenora Nichols Hinch. She was married Sept. 14, 1940, to Jewell Daniels, who died Oct. 27, 1985.

She was a lifelong resident of the Hannibal area. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hannibal. She worked at various shoe factories in Hannibal and was a proofreader for Western Publishing for 12 years.

Survivors include: two sons, Donald Daniels, Holts Summit, and George Daniels, New London; two sisters, Naomi Smith and Ellen Fisher, both of Hannibal; five grandchildren, six step grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

One grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Grand View Funeral Home, Hannibal. Matthew Shuck will officiate. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

EICHHOLZ

Dora Evelyn Eichholz, 85, Tipton, died Aug. 23, 2001, at Tipton Manor, Tipton.

She was born Jan. 16, 1916, in Syracuse, a daughter of Walter and Lillie Lewis Eichholz.

She graduated from high school in the Syracuse area and attended Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She taught for 35 years in the Morgan County area.

She was a member of Syracuse Baptist Church and the Morgan County Historical Society.

Survivors include one sister, Pearl Siegel, Lee's Summit.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. David Howlett will officiate. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery, Syracuse.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday.

KRAUS

Mildred Marie Kraus, 79, Columbia, formerly of Pilot Grove, died Aug. 24, 2001, at the University of Missouri Health Center and Clinic due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born Nov. 14, 1912, a daughter of Walter and Frances Horst Lang. She was married Jan. 19, 1942, to Edgar L. Kraus, who survives at the home.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church, Columbia; the Daughters of Isabella, Boonville; the Altar Society, Pilot Grove; and the Oakland Plaza Senior Center, Columbia. A homemaker, she retired from the University of Missouri in 1980.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Bernice K. VanLoo,  Jefferson City, Patricia Renner and Barbara A. Wood, both of Columbia, and Marilyn Nivert, Glasgow; one son, Don L. Kraus, Silver Spring, Md.; two sisters, Geraldine Ashpaugh, Boonville, and Irene Down, Kansas City; one brother, Robert F. Lang, Iola, Kan.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pilot Grove. Fr. Tom Scifner will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pilot Grove.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at Meisenheimer Funeral Home and will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

GUTH

Nola M. Guth, 73,  Jefferson City, died Aug. 24, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Berger, a daughter of Victor and Alma E. Ferguson Engelage. She was married Nov. 3, 1951, in Pocahontas, Ark., to Robert L. Guth, who died Nov. 7, 1994.

A lifelong resident of central Missouri, she graduated from Chamois High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Chamois Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert Lee Guth, Sullivan, and Samuel Guth, Lake MyKee; one sister, Juanita Hendee, Godfrey, Ill.; one brother, Robert N. Engelage, Lohman; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Wendell Stoneburner will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

STOCKTON

Bradley W. Stockton, 31, Eugene, died Aug. 25, 2001, in  Jefferson City.

He was born June 15, 1970, in  Jefferson City, a son of Dean and Grace Miranda Stockton. His parents survive in  Jefferson City. He was married Oct. 14, 1995, to Emily Oligschlaeger, who survives at the home.

He worked for N.H. Scheppers Distributing. He was a member of Mary's Home Knights of Columbus Council 3267; Teamsters Union Local 833; and Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Mary's Home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Shannon Stockton, of the home; two sons, David Stockton and Grant Stockton, both of the home; one brother, William Lee Werdehausen, Ft. Myers, Fla.; maternal grandmother, Lotte Miranda,  Jefferson City; and paternal grandmother, Betty Campfield, Palmyra.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery, Mary's Home.

Visitation will be form 3-8 p.m. Monday at the church with rosaries at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the care of the Stockton children.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

SCHAEFFERKOETTER

Joyce Marie Schaefferkoetter, 57, Belle, died Aug. 26, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Boone Township, a daughter of Arnold and Edna Bartel Huether. She was married May 17, 1965, in Rosebud, to Calvin Schaefferkoetter, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Belle, and the Owensville VFW Auxiliary.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Melody Badger, Belle; one brother, Donald Huether, Gerald; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville. The Rev. Norman Bahlow will officiate. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens, Owensville.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
