SCHLUP
Carl H. Schlup, 68, California, formerly of Jamestown, died Sept. 6, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Feb. 19, 1933, in Jamestown, a son of Elmer C. and Genevieve M. Pace Schlup. He was married April 5, 1959, in Lupus, to Shirley J. Cassil, who survives in California.
He was a lifelong farmer, a self-employed truck driver and a bus driver for over 30 years for Jamestown School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1953-55.
Other survivors include: three brothers, Calvin Schlup, Jamestown, and Eddie and Lyle Schlup, both of California; and one sister, Alta Smith, Lexington.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Chester Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.

BASTION
Eletha Ann Bastion, 53, Vienna, died Sept. 6, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born July 16, 1948, in Vienna, a daughter of Delmar and Anna Mae Bray Snodgrass. Her parents survive. She was married Jan. 20, 1968, in Vienna, to Donnie Bastion, who survives in Meta.
She was a member of Victory Hill Baptist Church, Vienna.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Tiffanie Meyer, St. Thomas; one son, Scottie Bastion, Freeburg; two brothers, Norman Snodgrass and Dwight Snodgrass, both of Vienna; two sisters, Mary Jane Duncan and Jeane Stegman, both of Vienna; and one granddaughter.
Services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kordes Funeral Home, Vienna.
FERRANTE
John "Jay" Ferrante, 74, died Sept. 8, 2001, at the Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born May 2, 1927, a son of Samuel and Katherine Marino Ferrante.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, from which he retired. He was a member of the Linn Creek Masonic Lodge 153, V.F.W. Post 2442, Eldon, American Legion of Lake Ozark, Order of the Eastern Star, 32 Shrine Scottish Rite, and past district governor 26B Lions Club, D.V.A.
Survivors include: his fiancé, Patty Denton, Eldon; three brothers, Al Ferrante, Stony Point, N.Y., and Carl Storez and Joe Storez, both of Lancaster, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Lions World Service for the Blind.
FITZGERALD
Gerald E. "Fitz" Fitzgerald, 74, Lebanon, died Sept. 7, 2001, at his home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Flora, Ill., a son of Verlie F. and Grace Henderson Fitzgerald. His mother survives. He was married Sept. 28, 1982, to Betty L. Voss, who survives at the home.
He was raised in Flora and graduated from high school in 1945. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Flora to work in the oil fields. He later made his home in St. Louis, where he was employed by McDonnell Douglas as a maintenance supervisor. He retired in 1982 and retired to Linn Creek. In 1998, he moved to Lebanon.
He followed the Methodist faith and was a member of both the Camdenton and Lebanon Moose lodges.
Other survivors include: three sons, Kevin Fitzgerald and Patrick Fitzgerald, both of St. Louis, and Timothy Fitzgerald, Troy, Ill.; one brother, Harry "Jack" Fitzgerald, LaFayette, La.; five step-sons, Kim Dille, High Hill, Neal Dille, Wright City, Gale Dille, Bethalto, Ill., and Kevin Dille and Kerry Dille, both of Macon; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Marc Magana officiating. Moose Lodge services will be performed by the Lebanon Moose Lodge No. 753. An Irish wake will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the lodge.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the Camdenton Moose Lodge.
LUTZ
Beulah May Lutz, 94, Jefferson City, died Sept. 9, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1906, near Tebbetts, a daughter of William H. and Sarah Ann Brown Hendrix. She was married Sept. 25, 1924, in Jefferson City, to John A. Lutz, who died March 14, 1973.
She attended school in Chamois. A homemaker, she worked as a top stitcher at Tweedies Shoe Factory. She then was employed as activities director at Woodcrest Nursing Home until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Survivors include: one son, Stephen J. Lutz, Jefferson City; one daughter, Polly Ann Wallis, Platte City; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Andrew J. Lutz, who died Nov. 3, 1992, and Joseph A. Lutz, who died Oct. 16, 1997.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Buescher Memorial Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Masses or a charity of the donor's choice.
RECTOR
James Rector, 68, Jefferson City, died Sept. 8, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born July 23, 1933, in Bland, a son of August and Sadie Blackwell Rector. He was married Oct. 4, 1952, in Bland, to Shirley Barbarick.
He was a member of the Bland Christian Church and the Bland Union Cemetery Board. He was a tire salesman.
Survivors include: two sons, James Rector and Jay L. Rector, both of Jefferson City; two brothers, August Rector Jr. and Jerry Rector; three sisters, Barb Juelfs, Lolita Stradford and Bonnie Potts.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Lee Rector and Bill Joe Rector.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bland Christian Church. The Rev. Bruce Fimore will officiate. Burial will be in Adkins-Campbell Cemetery, Belle.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today.
SANDERSON
Ellen Ann Sanderson, 80, Jefferson City, died Sept. 10, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born July 21, 1921, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Thomas E. and Flora E. Fink Markle. She was married March 30, 1946, in Kansas City, to Paul H. Sanderson Jr., who survives at the home.
She was a 1939 graduate of Jefferson City High School and attended the University of Kansas. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, she was employed in the printing department at the Missouri State Labor Council for 20 years until her retirement in 1982.
She was a past member of First Presbyterian Church.
Other survivors include two sons, Phillip M. Sanderson and Thomas E. Sanderson, both of Jefferson City, and two grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be Wednesday in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Samaritan Center.
VAUGHAN
Mary Belle Vaughan, 85, Linn, died Sept. 8, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born May 14, 1916, in Osage County, a daughter of Charles and Anna Dell Sieg Mantle. She was married Oct. 31, 1945, in Jefferson City, to Earl Dalton Vaughan, who died Jan. 11, 1965.
She was a lifelong resident of Osage County. She was a member of the R.L.D.S. Church, a member of the O.E.S. and past worthy matron and a member of the White Shrine.
She was a homemaker and also was employed by Champus Canvas and Linn Manufacturing. She retired from Chesebrough Ponds in 1980.
Suvivors include: three sons, Robert "Butch" Mantle, Springfield, Bernice Ray Vaughan, Linn, and Earl D. Vaughan, Branson; one step-son, Nelson Thomas Vaughan, Modesto, Calif.; one daughter, Loretta Marie Pope, Florissant; one step-daughter, Loretta Howard, Sedalia; three brothers, Roy Mantle, Kenny Mantle and Bob Mantle, all of Linn; one sister, Sara Ann Haberberger, Belleville, Ill; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one step-son, Herb Vaughan, and one step-daughter, Eunice Day.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the R.L.D.S. Church in Vosholl, Mo., with the Rev. Dixie Keener officiating. Burial will follow in the R.L.D.S. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home in Linn.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Fund.
ANGERER
Elmer A. "Skip" Angerer, 73, Jefferson City, died Sept. 9, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Cole County, a son of Henry and Hilda Meier Angerer. He was married April 24, 1952, in Jefferson City, to Martha Kiesling, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he attended school in Honey Creek. He worked at Central Dairy, A.H. "Pete" Jones Distributing and Von Hoffmann Press before retiring. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek; Brazito-Honey Creek Lions Club; A.B.C. Bowling Association; and the Jefferson City Bowling Hall of Fame.
Other survivors include: four sons, Gary Angerer, Robert Angerer and Rich Angerer, all of Jefferson City, and Tom Angerer, Westphalia; four daughters, Linda Schroer, Marilyn Hills, Doris Kunze and Joan Schmutz, all of Jefferson City; one sister, Oleda Goeller, Jefferson City; and 15 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Russ Bowder will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville.
