BENSKIN

Juanita Lee Benskin, 65, Calwood, died Sept. 12, 2001, at her home.

She was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Spencer, Okla., a daughter of Dallas V. and Lydia Thelma West Dean. She was married May 28, 1954, in Fulton, to Billy Ray Benskin, who survives at the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Kimberly Martin and Penny Benskin- White , both of Fulton; two brothers, Larry Dean, Lake Ozark, and Donald Dean, Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Maxine Wolfmeier, Fulton; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Mike Crowson and Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

LINHARDT

Herbert N. Linhardt, 92, St. Louis, died Sept. 11, 2001, at Wynscape Nursing Home, Wheaton, Ill.

He was born Feb. 6, 1909, in Lohman, a son of Otto and Pauline Linsenbardt Linhardt. He was married to Ora L. Seidel, who died in 1992.

He worked as a certified public accountant.

Survivors include: two sons, Hanford Linhardt, Wheaton, Ill., and Terry Linhardt, St. Louis; one sister, Martha Jungmeyer, Russellville; four grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Horace S. Allen Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is noon-4 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Church of Christ, 4700 South Grand Ave., St. Louis, Mo. 63111.

SPINELLI

Lillian Louise Spinelli, 80, Anaheim, Calif., died Sept. 13, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Nov. 19, 1920, in California, Mo., a daughter of Albert L. and Lucinda Adeline Allen Inman. She was married in 1953, in Los Angeles, to Alfredo Spinelli, who died in April 1980.

A 1938 graduate of California High School, she was a licensed owner-operator of a childcare center. She was a Catholic. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: two sons, Leighton Spinelli, Canyon Country, Calif., and Albert Spinelli, Trabuco Canyon, Calif.; three daughters, Lois Fata and Virginia Lee Swindle, both of Auburn, Calif., and Rosina Smith, Orange, Calif.; two sisters, Marguerette Harwell, Portland, Ore., and Virginia Wilson, California; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Private family viewing and a prayer service will be in California, Mo. The Rev. Luis Murillo will officiate. Services and entombment will be at a later date in Anaheim, Calif.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.

STARK

Mattie Gertrude Stark, 100, Eldon, died Sept. 12, 2001, in Osage Beach.

She was born Sept. 6, 1901, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of Leonard and Ida Beldon Dixon. She was married Nov. 21, 1915, in Tuscumbia, to William T. Stark, who died in May 1959.

She was a dishwasher, cook and farmer.

Survivors include: four daughters, Arzena Nixdorf, Ulman, Dolly Jobe, Hallsville, and Della June and Birdie Krupco, both of Kansas City, Kan.; three sons, Elijah Stark, Bonner Springs, Kan., Paul Stark, Gardner, Kan., and Henry Stark, Eldon; 39 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Stark and Arzella Phillips; three sons, Tom Stark, Burley Stark and Oliver Stark; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Tuscumbia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Memorials are suggested in care of the family.

TUCKER

Robert Schlemgen Tucker, 70,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 14, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center.

He was born May 24, 1931, in Madison, Wis., a son of Clifford H. "Tom" and Esther Schlemgen Tucker. He was married April 12, 1954, in Madison, to Joan Gottschalk, who survives in  Jefferson City. He was married July 5, 1977, in Eldon, to Helen McNeely Rea, who survives at the home.

He earned a degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin. He owned and operated  Jefferson City Auto Supply since 1968. He was a member of the  Jefferson City Host Lions Club, the Westside Business Association and the  Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce.

He served in the Army from 1954 to 1966, attaining the rank of captain. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he served as a deacon, and was active with the Explorer Scouts.

Other survivors include: three sons, Douglas Lee Tucker, The Woodlands, Texas , Jeffrey Robert Tucker, St. Louis, and Daniel Steven Tucker, Loose Creek; two stepsons, Jeffery Rea, Leawood, Kan., and Rusty Rea, Richardson, Texas ; two stepdaughters, Linda Rea Warner, Klamath Falls, Ore., and Jody Rea Bost, Aurora, Colo.; one sister, June Riemenschneider, Mt. Prospect, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. James Kalthoff will officiate. Burial will be in  Jefferson City National Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

FOOSE

Herman W. Foose, 84, Gravois Mills, died Sept. 14, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Feb. 2, 1917, in Slater, a son of Cecil O. and Ada Jane McKee Foose. He was married Oct. 13, 1962, to Ruby Sassmann Meinershagen, who survives at the home.

He was a self-employed contractor and heavy machine operator. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Navy Sea Bees and was head of building breakwater. He worked for Barkers Construction Company, Kansas City, and worked in heavy construction. In the Lake Area, he performed dozer, backhoe and carpentery work.

He was a member of the Gravois Mills United Methodist Church where he served as president of the church board and the United Methodist Men. He was president of the Gravois Mills Lions Club and served on the Blackburn Town Board. He was a member of the VFW Post 5902, Gravois Mills; former member of Christian Church, Waverly; charter member of Blackburn Lions Club; member of the Blackburn Masonic Lodge; past patron of the Blackburn, O.E.S.; and member of the American Legion, Blackburn. He was a Boy Scout Master in Blackburn.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Susan E. Johnson, Gravois Mills; one son, John E. Meinershagen, Gravois Mills; three sisters, Edna Ellis, Dover, Betty Williams, Gravois Mills, and Ruby Campbell, Waverly; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gravois Mills United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sidney Robbins will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.

LAWSON

Alma Christian McKim Lawson, 90, Holts Summit, died Sept. 13, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 8, 1911, in New Bloomfield, a daughter of James W. and Lizzie Dickson Sanders. She was married Sept. 29, 1929, to Ira McKim, who died Sept. 14, 1975. She later married S.T. Lawson, who survives in New Bloomfield.

She graduated from New Bloomfield School and taught elementary school. She was a member of Slusher Club; XYZ Club; the Twilight Zone; and the United Methodist Church of New Bloomfield. She served as the leader of the 4-H Club in New Bloomfield.

Other survivors include: one son, Bill C. McKim,  Jefferson City; two granddaughters, three great-granddaughters, three step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. The Rev. Brad Schmidt and the Rev. Rick Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church of New Bloomfield.

ALMELING

Roy "Redman" Almeling, 79, Lake Ozark, died Sept. 16, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born April 13, 1922, in New Melle, a son of Julius and Emma Zollmann Almeling. He was married June 11, 1949, to Muriel Linnenbringer, who died July 22, 1996.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for Local 513 out of St. Louis.

Survivors include: two sons, Keith Almeling and Julius Almeling, both of Lake Ozark; one daughter, Lois Sutton, Lake Ozark; two sisters, Helen Shipley, St. Charles, and Loretta Kellison, Maryland Heights; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

HUHMAN

Zita Adrian Huhman, 90, St. Elizabeth, died Sept. 16, 2001, at Oak Tree Villas.

She was born April 20, 1911, in Osage Bend, a daughter of Herman and Elizabeth Buersmeyer Adrian. She was married June 10, 1944, to Fred J. Huhman, who died May 20, 1997.

She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth, a former teacher in its CCD program and a member of the St. Ann's Sodality.

She was active in community affairs, especially youth programs. She helped organize the first 4-H club in St. Elizabeth and was its community leader for 17 years. She served on the Tri-County Red Cross Board and was instrumental in bringing Red Cross swim lessons to Miller County in 1961. She was also on the Miller County Fair Board for many years.

She recieved her early schooling at Osage Bend School and furthered her education by attending evening classes while employed in St. Louis. After her marriage, she was a homemaker and was also employed by Marshall Field Company of Chicago as a field representative in its World Book Encyclopedia division.

Survivors include: three sons, Fred Huhman Jr.,  Jefferson City, Roger Huhman, Columbia, and David Huhman, Lancaster, Calif.; five daughters, Carol Segarini, Columbia, Marian Huhman Buchner, Atlanta, Joyce Blomberg, St. Elizabeth, Grace Bogert, Atlanta, Jane Freeley, Portland; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth's Community Center, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth, wth the Rev. Hohn Huhmann officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth.

Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross or a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.

YOUNG

James S. "Botch" Young, 34, California, formerly of Mexico, died Sept. 15, 2001, at his home.

Arrangements are at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.
