LUEBBERT
Peter Henry Luebbert, 83, Jefferson City, died May 25, 1999, at Oak View Living Center.
He was born July 7, 1915, in Koeltztown, a son of Frank and Catherine Hollenbeck Luebbert. He was married July 17, 1943, in Jefferson City, to Marie Anna Brauner, who died April 12, 1977.
He farmed in Cole County and was a custodian for Jefferson City Public Schools. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and the Men's Association.
Survivors include: three daughters, Rose Kempker, Henley, Alice Mitchell, Manhattan, Kan., and Diana Lueckenotte, Jefferson City; one son, Kenneth Luebbert, Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren, one step grandson and three great-grandchildren.
One son, Donald Eugene Luebbert, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cathedral. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service will be at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Helias Foundation.
PATTERSON
Babe Ruth Patterson, 77, Ulman, died May 25, 1999.
Arrangements are incomplete at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.
SEABAUGH
Leroy Marvin Seabaugh Sr., 57, Jefferson City, died May 25, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born June 16, 1941, in New Wells, a son of Levi and Meta Perr Seabaugh. His mother survives in Jefferson City. He was married Sept. 3, 1966, in Flat River, to Pauline Pritchett, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked for Bethlehem Steel and was a Rainbow Vacuum distributor for 25 years.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Leigh Ann Pinkston and Robin Forsythe, both of Desloge, and Kim Jungmeyer, Jefferson City; two sons, Kevin Seabaugh and Leroy Seabaugh Jr., both of Jefferson City; two sisters, Barbara Schaller, Vancouver, Wash., and Sandra Neely, Holts Summit; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
THOMAS
Sarah Alice Thomas, 91, Fayette, died May 24, 1999, at Fayette Caring Center.
She was born Feb. 25, 1908, in Morgan County, a daughter of John and Emma Williams Twitchell. She was married Nov. 22, 1930, in Moberly, to Johnnie Lee Thomas, who died Sept. 27, 1970.
She was a member of Cooper County Hospital Auxiliary and Boonslick Senior Center.
Survivors include: four daughters, Mary Lou Keeney, Jefferson City, LeAnn Huff, Versailles, Mildred Hammonds, Fayette, and Billie Schwartz, Boonville; two brothers, John Twitchell, Glasgow, and David E. Twitchell, Calwood; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at William Wood Funeral Home, Boonville. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
CLEEK
Tina Cleek, 49, Eldon, died May 25, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Dec. 13, 1949, in St. Louis, a daughter of Russell E. and Eva Mae Reeder Miller. She was married Aug. 31, 1985, in Osage Beach, to Gary Cleek, who survives at the home.
A member of Lighthouse Fellowship Church, she lived in the Eldon area for 17 years. She sold insurance for Combined Insurance Company. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for Home Health.
Other survivors include: two sons, Tommy Coffin, Eldon, and Charlie Coffin, Stockton; one brother, Russell Miller, Columbia; two sisters, Clorinda Wise, Columbia, and Mary Perkins, Hartsburg; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lighthouse Fellowship Church. The Rev. Ray Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
Memorials are suggested in care of the family.
COX
Dessie V. Cox, 79, Jefferson City, died May 27, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 29, 1919, in Miller County, a daughter of Ulysses S. and Lucy Gier Brewer. She was married Feb. 21, 1936, in California, to the Rev. Charles H. Cox, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she attended Southwest Baptist College, Bolivar. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School class.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Carol Drewel, Jefferson City, and Betty Chadwick, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one son, William C. Cox, Nevada; three sisters, Orpha Woolley, Belle, Opal Bunch, Rocky Mount, and Treda Schupp, Eldon; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Doyle Sager will officiate. Burial will be in Dooley Cemetery, near Eldon.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Jefferson City or Eldon.
FALTER
Henry Falter, 66, Freeburg, died May 25, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Freeburg, a son of Joseph and Anna Bax Falter. He was married April 23, 1966, in Freeburg, to Darlene Schwartz, who survives at the home.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He had been employed as a press operator for McGraw-Edison Manufacturing Company from 1955-1972. He was also employed at ABB Power T & D from 1972-1997.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Lori Bax, Freeburg, and Dana Peters, Linn; four brothers, Lawrence Falter, Koeltztown, and Jerome Falter, Leander Falter, and Norbert Falter, all of Freeburg; two sisters, Martha Hobbs, St. Louis, and Teresa Kloeppel, Taos; and one grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg. The Rev. Mike Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, Vienna, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the Holy Family Church and School Memorial Fund or Masses.
HUFF
Larry Michael Huff, 49, Taos, died May 25, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Kansas City, Kan., a son of Emmett Jr. and Anna Mae Ousley Huff. His mother, Anna Steel, survives in Holts Summit. He was married March 27, 1971, in Donelson, Tenn., to Dana Fleming, who survives at the home.
He was a 1968 graduate of Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kan. He attended Lincoln University.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He received three Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. He served in the Missouri National Guard's public affairs detachment from 1973 to 1994.
He worked in the receiving department at ABB Power T&D since 1974. He was a member of VFW Post 1003, VFW Post 35 and Dix Road Church of Christ.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Jodi Lyn Spicer, Kansas City, and Erin Michael Huff, Jefferson City; three brothers, Richard Huff and Steve Huff, both of Jefferson City, and Jody Huff, Victorville, Calif; one sister, Debbie Schulte, Holts Summit; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the First Air Cavalry Memorial Scholarship Fund.
JACKSON
Dr. Elmer Charles Jackson Sr., 81, Jefferson City, died May 24, 1999, in Thomasville, N.C.
He was born Nov. 28, 1917, in McAlester, Okla., a son of Robert W. Sr. and Ora Lee Rabb Jackson. He was married April 19, 1946, in East St. Louis, Ill., to Gene Evelyn Chiles, who died Jan. 5, 1991. He was married Oct. 31, 1998, in Thomasville, to Jacquelin S. Busby, who survives at the home.
He was a 1935 graduate of L'Overture High School, a 1939 graduate of Langston University and a 1954 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed other advanced degree work at the University of Wisconsin, Denver University and the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
As a physician, he was a practitioner of pediatrics, internal and general medicine, and psychiatry. He was hired in 1960 by the Missouri Department of Mental Health as a pediatrician and assistant director of the youth center. During his career, he also served as associate director of child psychology, director of the Biggs Forensic Center, and clinical director and medical director of Fulton State Hospital. He retired from Mental Health in 1989. To honor his nearly three decades of work, the hospital named a treatment center for him in December 1989. Following retirement, he was a consultant to the hospital and the Missouri Department of Aging.
He was involved with numerous organizations including the American Red Cross, American Association of Retired Persons, American Legion, Boy Scouts of America, Special Olympics and the United Investment Club.
He was a member and deacon of Second Baptist Church and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
Other survivors include: two sons, Elmer C. Jackson Jr. and Kevin R. Jackson, both of Denver; one sister, Barbara Maxie, Denver; one brother, Robert W. Jackson Jr., Denver; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One son, Philip Daryl Jackson Sr., died Feb. 18, 1998.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church. The Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
