HOLTERMAN
Katie Holterman, 94, Jefferson City, died Oct. 24, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Dec. 11, 1906, in Freeburg, a daughter of Herman and Theresa Wansing Falter. She was married Sept. 14, 1938, in Freeburg, to Joseph Frank Holterman, who died May 10, 1987.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City. A homemaker, she was active in the ladies quilting club and ladies sodality of the church. She was a 50-year member of the Western Catholic Union.
Survivors include: two sons, Joe Holterman and Cletus Holterman, both of Freeburg; three daughters, Viola Luebbert, Loose Creek, Delrose Budnik, Morrison, and Eileen Leuthen, Jefferson City; one sister, Hilda Kloeppel, Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
One son, Joseph Holterman, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Rev. Mike Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna
Memorials are suggested to Masses or to the Holy Family Church and School Memorial Fund.
KLIETHERMES
Jeanette "Nettie" Groose Kliethermes, 92, Eugene, died Oct. 25, 2001, in Webster Groves.
She was born Dec. 27, 1908, in Eugene, a daughter of Frank and Mary Elizabeth Kempker Groose. She was married Aug. 22, 1933, in Marys Home, to Norbert J. Kliethermes, who died May 13, 1985.
She was a teacher at Kempker School, Marys Home and Eugene school systems for 33 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Sodality.
She directed a children's and adult choir and played the organ at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.
Survivors include: one son, Bill Kliethermes, Belvidere, Ill.; one daughter, Carol Hampton, Webster Groves; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Marys Home. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, Marys Home, with rosary services at 3:30 and 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church or the Missouri Botanical Gardens.
EVELER
John Francis Eveler, 82, formerly of Jefferson City, died Oct. 25, 2001, at Villa St. Joseph, Overland Park, Kan.

Jerome Joseph Huhn, 76, Westphalia, died Oct. 26, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

WRIGHT
Betty L. Wright, 72, Jefferson City, died Oct. 26, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

KNISKA
James A. Kniska, 69, Osage Beach, died Oct. 27, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born July 25, 1932, in Monongahela, Pa., a son of Andrew and Susan Greedan Kniska. His father survives in Osage Beach. He was married Jan. 1, 1988, in Ohio, to Sharon Owens, who survives at the home.
A graduate of West Virginia University, he founded, owned and operated Precision Custom Products, DeGraffe, Ohio, in 1976. He also had been employed in the computer department at Lake Regional Hospital. He volunteered at Lake Regional Hospital and Sun City Hospital, Sun City, Ariz.
He was a member of Walk on the Water Church, Osage Beach, and the Society of Plastics Industries and Plastics Pioneer.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Ruth Mahoney, Hanover, Mass., and Jane Hough, Lewistown, Ohio; one stepson, Michael Baroli, Columbia; one stepdaughter, Susan Davis, Eureka; three grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Walk on the Water Church. The Rev. Larry Ollison will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

HOWE
John Estle Howe Sr., 54, Jefferson City, died Oct. 29, 2001, in Jefferson City.
He was born Feb. 16, 1947, in Pacific, a son of Robert F. and Betty Faye House Howe. His father survives in Pacific. He was married June 14, 1969, in Florissant, to Kathleen Jean Loftus, who survives at the home.
A 1965 graduate of Pacific High School, he received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1969. He was awarded the juris doctor degree from the University of Missouri and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1972.
He was commissioned to serve as staff judge advocate at Loring Air Force Base, Maine, in 1972, and was appointed area defense counsel for Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, in 1974.
He was staff attorney for Mittendorf and Mittendorf, Union from 1976 to 1978. In 1979, he was hired as staff attorney for the Missouri Bar Administration, Sedalia, and was appointed bar counsel for the State of Nevada and admitted to the Nevada Bar in 1987.
In 1991, he was appointed chief disciplinary counsel for the Supreme Court of the State of Missouri, serving until his retirement in 2001.
He was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
He conducted legal education seminars on the topic of professional responsibility of lawyers and is author of "Media Ethics for Lawyers," published in the April 1990 edition of the Nevada Bar Letter.
He taught business law at East Central College, Union.
In 2001, he received the President's Award for lifetime achievement from the National Organization of Bar Counsel, the Dred Scott Award from the Missouri Judicial Commission and was honored by the Missouri Bar Association.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Newman Center, Columbia, the Nevada Bar Associations and the National Organization of Bar Counsel.
Other survivors include: one son, John E. Howe Jr., Jefferson City; two daughters, Jennifer Elaine Howe Weinzirl, Raytown, and Julie Elizabeth Howe, Jefferson City; and one brother, Gary Robert Howe Sr., Pacific.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas More Newman Center. Burial with military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson City Humane Society or Habitat for Humanity.
DAVIS
Gladys Lorene Davis, 96, Mokane, died Oct. 29, 2001, at Riverview Nursing Center, Mokane.
She was born May 23, 1905, in Tebbetts, a daughter of Claude A. and Sarah Bessie Dolman Sullins. She was married June 22, 1934, to Samuel Vernon Davis, who died July 6, 1991.
A graduate of Mokane High School, she attended William Woods College. She taught in several rural Callaway County schools and worked for the Missouri Division of Health until her retirement in 1971. She was a member of Mokane Christian Church and had been a member of O.E.S. Chapter 352 since 1924.
Survivors include: one son, James V. Davis, Seattle; one sister, Betty Jean Berry, Thompson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Mokane Cemetery, Mokane.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 p.m.
