Betty Lou Gartin, 70, Linn, died Dec. 16, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Linn, a daughter of Lafe O. and Pearl A. Lampkin Gove. Her mother survives in Linn. She was married Dec. 12, 1964, in Gasconade, to Herschel Lavon Gartin, who survives in Jefferson City.
She was a lifelong area resident and worked at Tweedie Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. The Rev. Tony Townley will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Phyllis M. Richardson, 67, Jefferson City, died Dec. 17, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

Miriam E. Kitchens, 81, formerly of Jefferson City, died Dec. 16, 2001, at Lafayette Regional Medical Center, Lexington.

CARTER
Emma Haselhorst Carter, 84, Jefferson City, died Dec. 19, 2001, at Rose Medical Center, Denver.
She was born Sept. 27, 1917, in Meta, a daughter of Frank A. and Mary Boeckmann Haselhorst. She was married April 2, 1949, in St. Louis, to Donald Francis Carter, who died Jan. 8, 1987.
She was a 1934 graduate of Westphalia High School and attended the University of Missouri-Rolla. She taught at Osage Bend School in the 1930s and worked at Ft. Leonard Wood in the 1940s. She retired in 1978 as Air Force property officer with the Civil Service, where she worked for 36 years.
She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and Chapter 313 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Survivors include: two daughters, Janice M. Finch, Denver, and Grace Carter Carlsen, San Anselmo, Calif.; four sisters, Clara Schmidt, St. Thomas, Mathilda Wilbers, Linn, Margaret Prenger, Jefferson City and Loreen Volmert, Westphalia; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. The Rev. Fredrick J. Elskamp will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a rosary at 6 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral of St. Joseph or the American Stroke Association.
CAWLEY
Sister Patricia Cawley, 79, Ireland, formerly of Jefferson City, died March 6, 2001, in Ireland.
She served at the Cathedral of St. Joseph School from 1966 to 1974 and from 1977 to 1990.
Local services will be at 8 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Cathedral during the children's Mass.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
MADDOX
Mary F. Maddox, 79, Jefferson City, died Dec. 18, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Jan. 15, 1922, in Clarksville, a daughter of Ralph B. and Georgia M. Parker Forgey. She was married Sept. 10, 1947, in Jefferson City, to Robert A. Maddox, who survives at the home.
A graduate of Paynesville High School, she lived in Jefferson City since 1940. She worked for the income tax division of the Missouri Department of Revenue, retiring in 1987. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Terry M. Voight, Jefferson City; one sister, Irene F. Kaufmann, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Lawrence Veatch will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church Building Fund, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
RISDON
Russell Rees Risdon, 81, Eldon, died Dec. 18, 2001, at Eldon Healthcare.
He was born March 17, 1920, in Chicago, a son of George and Ida Potts Risdon. He was married in 1970 in Chicago to Barbara Englehart, who died in 1979.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked as an accountant and chemist for Union Oil Company.
The body was cremated. Inurnment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chicago.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon.
SINGLETON
Shae Patricia Singleton, 14, Eldon, died Dec. 18, 2001, in Eldon.
She was born Aug. 25, 1987, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Jack and Linda Singleton Owen, who survive at the home.
She attended Eldon Junior High School where she was a class representative for the 8th grade, a cheerleader and honor roll student. She will be published in the January 2002 issue of The Famous Poet's Society.
Survivors include: two brothers, Jeffrey Owen, St. Joseph, and Jason Owen, Independence; and grandparents, Howard and Patricia Singleton, Monett, and Ruth Elizabeth Williamson, Eldon.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. James J. O'Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be in the Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

WAGNER
Winona Elizabeth "Snookie" Wagner, 71, Jefferson City, died Dec. 18, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Thomas H. and Anna Hardin Jolly. She was married July 14, 1946, in Jefferson City, to H. Ralph Wagner, who survives at the home.
She was a graduate of Butler High School. She worked at Oberman Factory and Tweedie Shoe Factory, and was co-owner of H. Ralph Wagner Plumbing Co. until her retirement in 200l. She helped organize Capital Speedway, Inc. and became a co-owner and co-operator. She was a board member and past treasurer of the Mid-Missouri Genealogical Society, a volunteer for American Cancer Society and was involved in the Breast Cancer Awareness program. She was an organizer for the Proclamation for Family History Day, which started in 1998. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Carol A. Vossen, Wentzville, and Janet S. Buschman and Beverly J. Mormann, both of Jefferson City; one brother, Thomas J. Wishard, Fairbanks, Alaska; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Bernice Willis will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m today.
Memorials are suggested to the oncology unit at St. Marys Health Center.
