DIENER
Esther M. Diener, 93, formerly of Versailles, died Dec. 29, 2001, at the Greencroft Nursing Center, Goshen, Ind.
She was born May 23, 1908, in Johnson County, a daughter of Moses M. and Sarah Raber Diener.
She worked for the Kansas City Bifocal, Versailles. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Mennonite Church and the College Mennonite Church of Goshen, Ind.
Survivors include two nieces, Carol Nebel and Caroline Nebel, both of Goshen.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Versailles.
DISTLER
Louis Lawrence Distler, 74, Jefferson City, died Dec. 28, 2001, at his home.
He was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Jefferson City, a son of Joseph A. and Cecilia H. Cortvrient Distler. He was married May 21, 1949, in Jefferson City, to Mary Louise Schmitz, who survives at the home.
He worked for International Shoe Company for 25 years and was later self-employed as an independent contractor until his retirement in 1997.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and Roy Sone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1003.
Other survivors include: two sons, Daniel L. Distler, Shawnee, Kan. and Stephen J. Distler, Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Knernschield and Pauline Distler, both of Centertown; and two brothers, Robert Distler, El Paso, Texas , and Leroy Distler, Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Distler.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Timothy Tatro will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

EAMES
Faith Alice Eames, 72, Iberia, died Dec. 29, 2001, at her home.
She was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Johnson City, N.Y., a daughter of Russell M. and Florence Alice Tompkins Linderman. She was married Aug. 3, 1948, in New York City, to Robert Eames, who survives at the home.
She was a 1947 graduate of Johnson City High School. She retired from Civil Service at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1973. She was a member of the Crocker VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Iberia First Baptist Church, where she served as the church organist.
Other survivors include: two sons, Bob Eames, Columbia, and Jerry Eames, Moberly; one daughter, Annette Trusty, Iberia; one brother, Gerald Linderman, Woodenville, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Iberia First Baptist Church. The Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Burial will be in Livingston Cemetery, near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia, and from 12:30-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
HENDERSON
Howard Loyal Henderson, Vienna, died Dec. 23, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born April 27, 1928, a son of Francis L. (Buddy) and Elsie Marie Graham Henderson. He was married Sept. 11, 1948, to Jean Malone, who survives at the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Sue Wenger, Mulvane, Kan., Terry L. Snodgrass, Vienna, and Patricia Wombwell, Montrose; two sons, Loyal S. Henderson, Vienna, and Carl T. Henderson, Vienna; 16 grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Tipton, Jefferson City.
Services were 3 p.m. Wednesday at Vienna United Methodist Church. The Rev. Karen Alden officiated. Burial was in Vienna Public Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Kordes Funeral Home, Rolla.
KRESL
Frank Joseph Kresl, 69, formerly of Jefferson City, died Dec. 28, 2001, at St. Anthony Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Osage City, a son of Joseph and Gertrude Margaret Schmitz Kresl. He was married June 30, 1956, in Jefferson City, to Dorothy Mae Wolken, who survives at the home.
He was a graduate of Westphalia High School and attended Jefferson City Junior College and a technical school in Kansas City. He was a transmitter engineer from 1951 until his retirement in 2001 with television stations in Springfield, Peoria, Ill., Sedalia, Jefferson City and St. Louis.
He was a member of Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church, St. Louis, and a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jefferson City.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Karen L. Cook, Jefferson City, and Deborah A. King, St. Charles; one sister, Shirley Ortbals, Osage City; one brother, Joseph Kresl, Taos; and four grandchildren.

PILLOW
Ruth Irene Pillow, 66, Jefferson City, died Dec. 26, 2001, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia.
She was born Dec. 27, 1934, in DeWitt, Ark., a daughter of Louis and Beatrice Louise Warner Gehering. She was married April 17, 1953, in Stuttgart, Ark., to Thomas Mastin Pillow.
She attended schools in Stuttgart, and graduated from Stuttgart High School. A homemaker, she was a member of the Lutheran Church.
She worked as a keypunch operator at McDonald Douglass Corporation, St. Louis.
Survivors include: four sons, Thomas Louis Pillow and Brian Sterling Pillow, both of St. Charles, Bruce Wayne Pillow, Indio, Calif., and David Clenn Pillow, Sun Rise, Fla.; one daughter, Caron Ruth Henkel, Silex; one sister Doris Ortego, Ventress, La.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
One grandchild preceded her in death.
Family services will be held. Burial will be in Stuttgart Cemetery, Stuttgart.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.
THOMPSON
Curtis O. Thompson, 61, Versailles, died Dec. 28, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Gravois Mills, a son of Robert and Irene Robinson Thompson. He was married Feb. 9, 1962, to Wanda Purl, who survives at the home.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Versailles. He raised trout and worked with Trout Dale, Gravois Mills.
Other survivors include: one son, Curtis Jr. Thompson, Versailles; three daughter, Brenda Thompson, Tazewell, Tenn., Marilyn Richardson, Versailles, and Denna Chadwick, Sunrise Beach; two brothers, R.D. Thompson, Laurie, and Virgil Thompson, Independence; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
TIMBROOK
Leonard Eugene "Gene" Timbrook, 62, Jefferson City, died Dec. 29, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Oct. 7, 1939, in Moberly, a son of Glen B. and Letha M. Hamblin Timbrook. His mother survives in Fulton. He was married May 28, 1960, in Guthrie, to Sharon Smith, who survives at the home.
He was a 1958 graduate of New Bloomfield High School. A construction worker and a laborer, he worked for Daniel International. He was a machinist at M.F. Miller Manufacturing until his retirement. He was a member of Dry Fork Baptist Church and Labor Local 662.
Other survivors include: two sons, Donald Gene Timbrook, Jefferson City, and Ernest B. Timbrook Sr., Holts Summit; one daughter, Christa SueAnn Long, Jefferson City; two brothers, Glen Timbrook, Fulton, and the Rev. Sam Timbrook, Columbia; one half sister, Emma Jane Kirkendoll, Madison; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Holts Summit. Burial be in the Dry Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Monday.
