REYNOLDS

John William Egbert Reynolds, 91, New Bloomfield, died Jan. 6, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 17, 1910, in New Bloomfield, a son of Richard D. and Serpta J. Murray Reynolds. He was married Dec. 24, 1941, in New Bloomfield, to Kathryn E.  Jefferson, who survives at the home.

He worked for Busch's Florist for a number of years until his retirement. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. He served as chairman of the deacon board for 33 years and was designated deacon emeritus.

Survivors include one brother, Morton Reynolds, New Bloomfield.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Holts Summit. The Rev. George Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens,  Jefferson City.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit.

PLATTER

Treva Mae Platter, 85, Enon, died Jan. 8, 2002, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born May 21, 1916, in Miller County, a daughter of Ralph M. and Rosa Ellen Cooper Blankenship. She was married June 29, 1935, in Tuscumbia, to Charlie Platter, who died Aug. 5, 1991.

She attended Central Point School and was a lifelong resident of Miller, Moniteau, and Cole counties. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Enon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, sand in the choir and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. She was Ms. Nursing Home Queen at Villa Marie in 2000.

Survivors include: one son, Charles D. Platter,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Marlis Meyer,  Jefferson City, and Shirley Goldammer, Russellville; two sisters, Selma Barker, Eldon, and Eulah Wickham, Tollhouse, Calif.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

One great-granddaughter preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Enon Baptist Church. The Rev. Randy Trumbo and the Rev. Jasper Hunter will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to Enon Baptist Church or Villa Marie Activities Program.

DREHER

Raymond D. Dreher, 53,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 8, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born Aug. 28, 1948, in St. Joseph, a son of Raymond W. and Betty B. Burke Dreher.

A 1966 graduate of  Jefferson City High School, he was an Army veteran. He was a computer specialist for the Missouri Department of Revenue data processing division from 1971 to 1974.

Survivors include: one daughter, Kristen Dreher,  Jefferson City; three brothers, Stephen Dreher, Fort Valley, Ga., Martin Dreher, San Antonio, Texas , and Brian Dreher, Columbia; two sisters, Diane Gaines, Holts Summit, and Denise Shaldone,  Jefferson City; and one granddaughter.

One son, Erik Wayne Dreher, died in 1991.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Holts Summit. Burial will be in Summit Memorial Park Cemetery, Holts Summit.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the New Bloomfield High School Athletic Department.

NILGES

Linda A. Nilges, 42,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 8, 2002, at Oak View Living Center.

She was born Sept. 5, 1959, in Omaha, Neb., a daughter of Samuel and Kathleen Mahony Kleffner. She was married May 9, 1986, in  Jefferson City, to Gary Nilges, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include: one son, Gary Nilges Jr.; three sisters, Cheryl Johnson and Pat Schepers, both of  Jefferson City, and Liz Wray, Independence; and two stepbrothers.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville. The Rev. Lowell Perkins will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

OWENS

Marvin D. Owens, 67, Linn, died Jan. 8, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Linn, a son of Floyd and Mattie Ware Owens. He was married April 27, 1957, in Linn, to Shirley Wolfe Owens, who survives at the home.

A 1954 graduate of Linn High School, he was an Army veteran. He was Osage County sheriff from 1973 to 1992. He served four years as Osage County commissioner. He worked at Hometown Lumber.

He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Linn, Masonic Lodge 326 and the Missouri Sheriff's Association.

Survivors include: three daughters, Carmen Rikard and Robin Reynolds, both of Linn, and Kim Owens, Wardsville; one brother, Billie Dee Owens, Linn; two sisters, Lola Heet, Linn, and Mary Ruth Grizzle, Phenix City, Ala.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. George Church, Linn. The Rev. Tony Townley and the Rev. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with Masonic services at 8 p.m. Visitation also will be from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Friday at St. George Church.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

PLANK

Carl Wayne "Windy" Plank, 58, Olean, died Jan. 7, 2002, in Olean.

He was born April 6, 1943, in St. Louis, a son of Ervin and Madeline McBride Plank. He was married to Phyllis Ray. He was married Oct. 14, 1995, to Geraldine Busch, who survives at the home.

He worked for Floyd Charcoal, Salem, for 28 years. He was a scaffolding assembler at Fluor Global Services in the state of Texas . He was a member of Carr Baptist Church, Cook Station, and the Buffalo Club, Olean.

Other survivors include: one son, Carl Delmar Plank, St. James; three stepsons, Tony Nash, Andover, Kan., and Jerry Nash and Kevin Nash, both of Pratt, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Williams, Olean, and Marsha Meyer, Manito, Ill; one grandson; 14 step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

Two stepsons, Gilbert Nash and Bob Hickman, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. James Hedrick will officiate. Burial will be in Victor Cemetery, Anutt.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Buffalo Club of Olean.

MELLER

Peggy J. Meller, 62, St. Martins, died Jan. 9, 2002, at her home.

Arrangements are incomplete at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.

HALL

Howard E. "Bert" Hall, 67, Centertown, died Jan. 8, 2002, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Oct. 2, 1934, in Prairie Home, a son of E. Howard and Velma Olivia Scheidt Hall. He was married Feb. 24, 1955, in California, to Norma Jean Holmes, who survives at the home.

He attended California High School. He was a self-employed contractor. An Army veteran, he was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and VFW Post 4345, both in California, and the American Legion Post 531, Centertown.

Other survivors include: one son, James Hall, Baton Rouge, La.; two daughters, Kimberly Bolton,  Jefferson City, and Teresa Rogers, Centertown; one brother, Bill Hall, McGirk,; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Annunciation Catholic Church. Msgr. Francis Gillgannon and the Rev. Steven Strauch will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society in care of Judy Allee, PO Box 333, Latham, Mo. 65050 or Hospice of  Jefferson City & Mid-Missouri, 601 East High Street,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65101.

ANTWEILER

Wilma A. Antweiler, 70,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 9, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born July 22, 1931, in Henley, a daughter of Aubrey D. and Mirinda B. Norfleet Scott. She was married May 31, 1952, in  Jefferson City, to Michael J. Antweiler who died March 20, 1983.

A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she graduated from Eugene High School. She worked at the Missouri Department of Social Services for 30 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Baptist Church and the auxiliary of Memorial Community Hospital.

Survivors include: one son, Ralph M. Antweiler, New Bloomfield; three daughters, Barb A. Bernskoetter, Chillicothe, and Mary L. Kleffner and Debbie K. Richards, both of  Jefferson City; five sisters, Rosalie Popp, Eldon, Annalee Scott, El Dorado, Kan., Reva Holliday, Independence, Rayma Hoskins, Alamo, Texas , and Phyllis Phillips, Gardner, Kan.; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Stan Saunders will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

CHITTUM

Edith Short Chittum, Morris, Ill., died Jan. 9, 2002, at her home.

She was born in Iberia, a daughter of Charles and Cora Miller Short.

She graduated from Iberia Academy and Junior College. She received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Drury College, Springfield, and a master's degree in English and linguistics from Northeastern Illinois University. She taught English in Missouri high schools for 37 years. She also taught at Park Ridge Military Academy, Zion-Benton High School, and Maine South High School, all in Illinois. She retired in 1974. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Morris. She was a member of Miriam Church Circle, the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and Illinois Education Association. She was also a member of the Morris Women's Club, Morris Hospital Auxiliary and Gundy County Retired Teachers Association.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Iberia Cemetery. The Rev. Stan Way will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.
