JOHNSON

Clea Johnson, 83, Sedalia, died June 2, 1999, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born July 14, 1915, in Pomerene, Ariz., a daughter of John A. and Sarah Wilmerth Scott Sherman. She was married June 8, 1934, in Mesa, Ariz., to James H. Johnson Jr., who died Aug. 5, 1986.

She was a homemaker and member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include: three sons, F. Dawayne Johnson, Sedalia, James Elroy Johnson, Independence, and Norman Dale Johnson, Kansas City; one daughter, Marva Hutchison, Versailles; three brothers, Alvin Franklin Sherman and Leonard Basil Sherman, both of Mesa, and Attison Lamar Sherman, Roosevelt, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Bishop F. Dawayne Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson Foundation.

MADDOX

Norma Jean Maddox, 70,  Jefferson City, died June 3, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Freeman Mortuary.

MORGAN

Margaret B. Morgan, 88, Eldon, died June 2, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 26, 1910, in Leon, Iowa, a daughter of Wilbur and Cecile Fulton Clymer. She was married Nov. 16, 1929, in Liberty, to Clifford R. Morgan, who died Nov. 11, 1981.

She was a 1929 graduate of King City High School, and was a homemaker.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Alice Cunningham, Yorba Linda, Calif.; two sisters, Winnie Cobb, Murphy, Calif., and Ethel Roach, Amity; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Athelene Barlow, died in 1987.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Richard Cunningham will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Lee House, Eldon.

RATHBUN

Robert W. "Bob" Rathbun, 87, Osage Beach, died May 30, 1999, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.

He was born Feb. 12, 1912, in Springfield, N.Y., a son of Dr. William and Lina Rathbun.

He worked as a home interior decorator for Dowden's Interiors, Camdenton, and was employed as a distributor for Shell Oil Co. until his retirement. He was an Army veteran and a POW during World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Bull Pen, both in Osage Beach, and the VFW. He was a Methodist.

He is survived by one nephew, Thomas David, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. June 12 at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

SAPPINGTON

Mary Rachel Sappington, 89, formerly of California, died May 31, 1999, at Park Place Care Center, Raytown.

She was born Nov. 22, 1909, in California, a daughter of John E. and Maud Longan. She was married June 27, 1937, to John O. Sappington, who died Aug. 27, 1970.

She was a 1927 graduate of Aurora High School, California. She attended Warrensburg State Teachers College and Lincoln University. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She taught for 33 years in Moniteau County schools, retiring from California R-1 in 1975.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, California; OES Chapter 521; Past Matrons Club, California; Moniteau County Historical Society, Missouri State Teachers Association; and Retired Teachers of Missouri Association.

She is survived by one niece, Vickie Thate, Raytown.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, California.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday.

TRADER

Garnett Trader, 89, Manassas, Va., formerly of  Jefferson City, died June 1, 1999, at Potomac Hospital, Woodbridge, Va.

She was born July 19, 1909, in Ashgrove, Iowa, a daughter of David and Olive Leonard Ward. She was married Sept. 20, 1930, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Harry Trader, who died April 28, 1985.

A homemaker, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 496 and White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 34.

Survivors include: one son, Harley Lee Trader, Manassas; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors,  Jefferson City. The Rev. Dorothy Lairmore and the Rev. Alan Michel will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 496.

WILCOX

Hantay Lane Wilcox, infant son of Adam and Melissa Dawn Wilcox, Holts Summit, was stillborn June 2, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

His mother also died June 2, 1999. His father survives at the home.

Other survivors include: one sister, Brittany Wilcox, Holts Summit; paternal grandparents, Charles R. and Judy Ann Wilcox, Holts Summit; maternal grandparents, Dan and Joyce Bennett, Springfield, Ohio; paternal great-grandmother, Mildred Wilcox, New Bloomfield; and maternal great-grandparents, Dwight and Mildred Erwin, Benton, Ill.

Services were at 2 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors,  Jefferson City. The Rev. Ted Huston officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Central Baptist Church Building Fund.

WILCOX

Melissa Dawn Wilcox, 29, Holts Summit, died June 2, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

Arrangements are incomplete at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

WOLFE

Rebecca R. Wolfe, 50,  Jefferson City, died June 2, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Nov. 21, 1948, in Denver, Colo., a daughter of Cyril R. and Barbara May Saulton Beatty, who survive in Denver. She was married March 29, 1969, in Denver, to Roger Ray Wolfe, who survives at the home.

She was a 1966 graduate of South High School, Denver. She was employed as WIC coordinator for Cole County Health Department for the past four years. She had been employed with Missouri Department of Health and Sikeston Housing Authority.

She was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church,  Jefferson City.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Jennifer L. Wolfe, Cape Girardeau, and Terra L. Wolfe,  Jefferson City; one sister, Judee A. Glover, Brighton, Colo.; and two brothers, David R. Beatty, Denver, and Timothy P. Beatty, Littleton, Colo.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home,  Jefferson City. The Rev. Kenneth Lambert will officiate. Additional services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home, Lexington, Neb. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lexington.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Christ Community United Methodist Church or St. Marys Health Center Oncology Department.

GORDON

Burl Junior Gordon, 61, Fulton, died June 2, 1999, at his home.

He was born Nov. 23, 1937, a son of Burl "Curly" L. and Elsie Gilbert Gordon. His mother survives.

He was a retired farmer, mechanic and heavy equipment operator.

Other survivors include; six sons, Bobby Gordon, Auxvasse, Kevin Gordon, Mexico, and Randall Gordon, Mike Gordon, Roger Gordon and Steve Gordon, all of Fulton; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Auxvasse Cemetery. Bruce Williamson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
