SWITZER

William Michael Switzer, 45, Gravois Mills, died Feb. 21, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 10, 1956, in Camdenton, a son of Charles W. and Margaret Louise Whalen Switzer.

He worked as a welder for Galva-Foam Machine Industries. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Winfield Blue Grass Association.

Survivors include: five brothers, Robert Lee Switzer, Lebanon, Evert Owen Switzer, Knoxville, Tenn., Jack Gudgel, Bayard, Neb., Frank Thomas Switzer, Fulton, and Richard Allen Switzer, Fort Hood, Texas ; three sisters, Rose Ellen Bradshaw, Waverly, Kathy Lee, Gravois Mills, and Connie Johnson, Laurie.

Services will be at 8 p.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie. The body will be cremated.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the William Michael Switzer Memorial Fund.

TEER

Mary Helen Teer, 79, Valley View, Texas , died Feb. 20, 2002, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Kansas City, a daughter of J.D. and Irene Hagan Morris. She was married to D.E. "Dunc" Duncan, who preceded her in death. She was married to Marion Teer, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from East High School in 1940. She moved to Tunnel Dam in Camden County in 1956. In 1959 she moved to Camdenton. She worked for several years for Windsor Estates. She moved to Texas in October 2000. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Survivors include; one daughter, Dorveen Rowan, Valley View, Texas ; one sister, Lil Morris, Kansas City; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Fr. Ben Luedtke will officiate. Burial will be in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, with a rosary service at 2 p.m., at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

FORCK

Marie C. Forck, 83, Jonesburg, died Feb. 19, 2002, at Crossroad Regional Hospital.

She was born June 9, 1918, in Folk, a daughter of Joseph B. and Mary E. Baumhore Stegeman. She was married to Thomas J. Forck, who survives at the home.

Survivors include: one son, Thomas Forck, Woodbridge, Va.; four daughters, Vivian Grelle, Jonesburg, Elaine Brugnone, Westphalia, Diana Ponstingl, Ste. Genevieve, and Kathryn Hornsey, Jonesborough, Tenn.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Patrick's Church in Jonesburg. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in National Cemetery  Jefferson Barracks.

Arrangements are under the direction of Collier's Funeral Home, St. Ann.

GIER

Boyd Gier, 72, Eldon, died Feb. 21, 2002, in  Jefferson City.

He was born Jan. 9, 1930, in High Point, a son of Ernest and Bonnie Jones Gier. He was married April 13, 1988, in Tuscumbia, to Mary Darby, who survives at the home.

He was a fuel truck driver with B.J. Miller Oil Company. He was a member of American Legion Post 5,  Jefferson City; Eldon V.F.W. Post 2442; and the Steam Engine Association, Versailles.

Other survivors include: one son, Jonathan Gier, of the home; two daughters, Sammie Bolen, Sunrise Beach, and Julie Jones, Olean; one stepson, Billy Testerman, Marshall; one sister, Erma Imler, Kansas City; two step granddaughters and three step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Walter Simpson will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

PATTERSON

Paul E. Patterson, 71, Iberia, died Feb. 21, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Iberia, a son of Harry and Goldie Cross Patterson. He was married Oct. 24, 1992, in Kansas City, Kan., to Ardis Allee Lyons, who survives at the home.

He graduated from Iberia High School. He was a salesman for the grocery industry and worked for Beech Aircraft in Liberal, Kan. He was a member of the Good Will Church in Crocker and was a Sunday school teacher for the Assembly of God Church in West Plains.

Survivors include: one son, Danny Patterson, Seymore; two daughters, Rhoda Turner, Houston, Texas , and Linda Brewer, West Plains; three stepsons, Lee Lyons, Larry Lyons and Lester Lyons, all of Kansas City, Kan.; one stepdaughter, Fay Breedlove, Harrison, Ark.; one brother, Sam Patterson, Kansas City; one sister, Hazel Catron, Willard; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven step grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Burial will be in Robinett Cemetery near Brumley.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to Eastside Assembly of God Church.

BECKER

Helen J. Becker, 65,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 22, 2002, at St. Mary's Health Center.

She was born April 27, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Joseph and Ann McIntyre Dierkes. She was married May 30, 1959, in Cape Cirardeau to Bernard "Bud" Becker, who survives at the home.

She was a graduate from Mount St. Scholastica High School in Atchison, Kan., and attended St. Francis College in Joliet, Ill. She was vice president of Accudata Credit Systems for 25 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was past president of the Lioness Club and was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, the  Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Female Executives. She also was a homemaker.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Gerrie Becker, Albuquerque, N.M., Mary Becker, Salem, Ore., and Beverly Becker-Holohan, Cleveland, Ohio; two sons, Vincent "Skip" Becker and Michael P. Becker, both of  Jefferson City; one brother, Thomas Dierkes, Rowlett, Texas ; one grandchild and five step-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with the Revs. Donald W. Lammers and Rick Dierkes officiating.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors --  Jefferson City Chapel, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the National Shrine of St. Jude, 205 W. Monroe St., Chicago, Ill., 60606, or the St. Peter's Catholic Church Building Fund.

BELT

Gene Melvin Belt, 74, Centertown, died Feb. 22, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in  Jefferson City.

He was born July 5, 1927, in Henley, the son of Melvin and Edna Carrender Belt. He was married June 3, 1947, in Kansas City, to Evelyn B. Gibler, who survives at the home.

He was a member of Centertown Baptist Church. He worked as a mechanic at Mill's Garage in California for 18 years and at the McGraw-Edison manufacturing plant in  Jefferson City for 23 years.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Carol Jean McDonald, Dallas, Texas , Cathy Ann Clemons, Atlanta, Ga., Corliss June Hentges, Centertown, and Cindy Leah Tillman, Brandon, Fla.; one son, Michael Wayne Belt, Centertown; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Robert Belt and Leon Belt, both of Centertown, and Billy Belt of California.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Following cremation, a private service will be held by the family at a later date, with burial at the Centertown Cemetery.

Arrangements are under direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.

DOTY

Evelyn Marie Doty, 80,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 22, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born June 23, 1921, in Milford, Iowa, a daughter of George Hedges and Nellie Mae Glenn Derham. She was married Oct. 5, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Harvie M. Doty, who preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Milford High School in Milford, Iowa, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Fulton.

Survivors include: one son, Robert Doty, Crystal Lake, Ill.; one daughter, Janice M. Doty, Fulton; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Allen Doty.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia. Elder Perry Lovett will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Debo Funeral Home.

HALL-DAVIES

John Brandon Hall-Davies, 23, died Feb. 18, 2002, in Hampton, Va., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Jan. 5, 1979, in Columbia, a son of John M. Davies and DiLynn Davies-Ridenhouer. His parents survive in Fulton. He was married to Natalie Hall, who survives at the home.

He was stationed in the Air Force at Langley Air Base in Hampton. He attended South Callaway High School and was a 1997 graduate of Fulton High School.

Other survivors include: one son, Trent Davies, of the home; one brother, Joey Davies, Fulton; one sister, Erica Brook Ridenhouer, Fulton; grandparents, Stanley Davies and Donald Klick, both of Fulton, and Henry and Betty Schmidt, Mokane; and great-grandmother, Hazel M. Sheets, Fulton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Debo Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the educational fund of Trent Davies, in care of Central Bank.

KLEIN

Lucy Cathernie Klein, 92, Tipton, died Feb. 22, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Jan. 28, 1910, in Bunceton, a daughter of August and Lillie Shores Weber. She was married Aug. 26, 1927, in Warrensburg, to William H. Klein, who preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1983.

She was a member of Otterville Methodist Church.

Survivors include: three nephews Leonard F. Klein, Tipton, Robert Klein, Sedalia, and Donald Klein, Irving, Texas ; and one niece, Betty J. Riecke, Clinton.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home. Viola Rhodes and Zelena Stultz will officiate. Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery.

Visitation is from noon until the time of service on Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Fund.
