ZIMMERMAN

Frances "Fran" Zimmerman, 80, Eldon, died Jan. 22, 2001, in  Jefferson City.

She was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Cleveland, a daughter of Anton and Marie Losier Cerne. She was married in 1972, in Eastlake, Ohio, to Wilbert K. Zimmerman, who died Dec. 12, 1988.

She was an assembly line worker at Leece-Neville, Cleveland, before retiring. She moved from Cleveland to Eldon in October.

Survivors include: three sons, Alex Carson, Cincinnati, John Carson, Rockford, Ill., and Wayne Baker, Chicago; one daughter, Marlene Atterberry, Eldon; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Gilbert Pearson will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

ALLEN

Robert Richard Allen, 24, Lake Ozark, died April 11, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born Jan. 22, 1977, in Flagstaff, Ariz., a son of Jerry E. and Lois J. Baker Allen, who survive in Lake Ozark.

Other survivors include: two brothers, Kenny Chappell and Bill Breckenridge, both of Lake Ozark; one sister, Janet Jennings, Crocker; and maternal grandmother Mabel Baker, Lake Ozark.

Services will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

BRITTON

Eva L. Britton, 98, California, died April 10, 2001, at California Care Center.

She was born Feb. 19, 1903, in Moniteau County, a daughter of Joseph and Virginia Frances James Hays. She was married Feb. 6, 1926, in California, to Clarence Britton, who died Jan. 1, 1996.

A homemaker, she attended Lone Oak School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in California and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Greg Morrow will officiate. Burial will be in Flag Spring Cemetery, near California.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to California Senior Center, 107 Versailles Ave., California, Mo. 65018.

GILMORE

Lonnie G. Gilmore, 54, New Bloomfield, died April 11, 2001, at his home.

He was born Sept. 24, 1946, in Callaway County, a son of Charles and Naydean Forbis Gilmore.

He attended New Bloomfield High School and was an auto mechanic in the New Bloomfield area for 40 years.

Survivors include: four brothers, Elva Gilmore and Tommy Gilmore, both of New Bloomfield, and Wilbur Gilmore and Randy Gilmore, both of Columbia; and two sisters, Donna Patrick, Columbia, and Judy Vandelicht, Ashland.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Holts Summit. Chaplain Bart Larson will officiate. Burial will be in Dry Fork Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

KIRBY

Norman Lee Kirby, 70, Roach, died April 12, 2001, at his home.

Arrangements are incomplete at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

PATTERSON

Carlos C. "Pat" Patterson, 68,  Jefferson City, died April 11, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Camdenton, a son of Leslie S. and Edna B. Keowen Patterson. He was married Dec. 5, 1953, in New Bloomfield, to Mary Elizabeth Yancey, who survives in  Jefferson City.

A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, he attended Linn Creek schools and  Jefferson City public schools. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and served in the Missouri Army National Guard from 1974 to 1990.

He was co-owner of P and T Barber Shop from 1963 until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693.

Other survivors include: one son, Samuel L. Patterson, California; one daughter, Cynthia L. Surface,  Jefferson City; one sister, Bessie Pearl Putnam,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Louie Patterson,  Jefferson City, and Raymond Patterson, state of Tennessee; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Doyle Sager and the Rev. Kenneth Mathes will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Wonderland Camp.

RICE

Margaret L. Rice, 78, California, died April 11, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 27, 1922, in McGirk, a daughter of Lloyd A. and Mae Ella Wood Kirchhoff. She was married June 26, 1940, in Sedalia, to Floyd W. Rice, who survives at the home.

She worked at International Shoe Company for 25 years. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church in McGirk, where she taught Sunday school and was the Sunday school secretary. She was president of the WMU of the church and was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary. She was a 1938 graduate of  Jefferson City High School.

Other survivors include: one son, Douglas Rice, Warsaw; one daughter, Mary Rice, Florissant; one sister, Darlene Ross, Ft. Worth, Texas ; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

One son, Larry Leon Rice, died in 1941.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lebanon Baptist Church. The Rev. Frank Whitney will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

Memorials are suggested to the Lebanon Baptist Church Building Fund, McGirk, Mo. 65055.

THOMAS

James Lee Thomas, 88,  Jefferson City, died April 11, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Nov. 10, 1912, in Chariton County, a son of George S. and Mary Ellen Hess Thomas. He was married Oct. 22, 1942, in Phoenix, to Isabelle Viola McCraken, who died Oct. 25, 2000.

A graduate of Rothville High School, Rothville, he was an Army veteran. He was a shop teacher and auto mechanic teacher at Union High School, Phoenix, until his retirement. He also served as an airplane mechanic and flight instructor in Phoenix. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Lee's Summit.

He is survived by nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held.

Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

JONES

Herman Jones, 84, Crocker, died April 10, 2001, at Tri-County Nursing Home, Richland.

He was born Aug. 24, 1916, in Webster County, a son of William and Nellie Thomas Jones. He was married Feb. 2, 1937, in Lebanon, to Jennie Mae Pruitt, who preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Crocker Christian Church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge 108, Crocker. He was employed as a butcher at Hoops, and as an auto mechanic at Whittleburg Service Station, both in Crocker. He was a self-employed mechanic for 20 years, retiring in 1997.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Lou Harper, Camdenton; two brothers, James Jones, state of Illinois, and Howard Jones, state of California; one half brother, Floyd Jones, state of Wyoming; four sisters, Elizabeth Matecosky, Los Angeles, Vivian Rollhauf, St. Louis, Maria Ostrow, New York state, and Myrtle Henry, state of Illinois; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

One son, Phillip Jones, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Long Funeral Home, Crocker. Lee Todd will officiate. Burial will be in Crocker Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, with I.O.O.F. services at 7:30 p.m., and from noon-1 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Lake Ozark Hospice.

WOODALL

Clarence "Clyde" Woodall, 73, Macks Creek, died April 11, 2001, at Ozark Care Center, Osage Beach.

He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Macks Creek, a son of Clarence and Eva Wheeler Woodall. He was married in 1949, in Harrison, Ark., to Marguerite Smith, who survives in Macks Creek.

An Army veteran of World War II, he had been a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Macks Creek. He was employed with General Motors, Kansas City, on the assembly line for 36 years.

Other survivors include: one son, Jim Woodall, Macks Creek; one daughter, Kathleen Southern, Macks Creek; one sister, Ruby Payne, Urbana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Macks Creek. Burial will be in Woodall Cemetery, Macks Creek.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
