LeVAN
Dorothy Jean LeVan, 76, Osage Beach, died March 26, 2002, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.
She was born May 22, 1925, in St. Louis, a daughter of Charles T. and Eva Kathryn Brown Graham. She was married Jan. 2, 1945, to Norman LeVan Sr., who died Oct. 1, 1997.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Osage Beach.
Survivors include: three sons, Michael LeVan, John LeVan and Daren LeVan, all of Chicago; five daughters, Carol Davis, Eldon, Linda Bennett, Chicago, Shirley Scott, Columbia, Sandra McGuire, Camdenton, and Beverly Hicks, Lake Ozark; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons and one granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Roger Perkin will officiate. Burial will be in Myetta Cemetery in Camdenton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
ROSS
Barbara Frances Ross, 69, Holts Summit, died March 26, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 20, 1932, in St. Louis, a daughter of Carl and Barbara Frank Wunderle. She was married Aug. 26, 1950, in St. Louis, to Kenneth E. Ross, who died Feb. 26, 1964.
She was a teacher for 35 years in the Summersville R-2 Public Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Summersville and a member of the MSTA.
Survivors include: one son, Danny E. Ross, Eunice; three daughters, Barbara R. Burton, Levelland, Texas , Roberta L. Ross-Fisher, St. Clair, and Teresa A. Ross, Holts Summit; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Saturday at First Baptist Church in Summersville. The Rev. Phil Jester will officiate. Burial will be in Summersville City Cemetery.

VOLKART
Opal L. Volkart, 64, California, died March 27, 2002, at her home.
Arrangements are incomplete at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California.
RACKERS
Paul B. Rackers, 67, Wardsville, died March 27, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

HENSON
Elizabeth S. Henson, 89, Sunrise Beach, died March 27, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born May 15, 1912, in Detroit, a daughter of Judd and Margaret Wilson Spray. She was married in 1939, to Lee Henson, who died in 1984.
She was a homemaker and of the Christian Science faith.
Survivors include two sons, Judd Henson, Sunrise Beach, and Lee Henson, Columbia, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
No services are planned. The body was cremated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
VANSCIVER
Walter "Sandy" Vansciver Jr., 51, Eldon, died March 27, 2002, in Jefferson City.
He was born July 26, 1950, in Riverside, N.J., a son of Walter Sr., and Joan Peck Vansciver. His mother survives in Eldon.
He was an independent over-the-road truck driver.
Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn Vansciver, Ozark; three brothers, Larry Vansciver, Ranier, Ore., Brian Vansciver, Ozark, and Darrin Vansciver, Huntville, Texas ; and one sister, Cindy Vansciver, Eldon.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. James J. O'Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested in care of the family.
BLEDSOE
C. Charles Bledsoe, 73, Jefferson City, died March 28, 2002, at the Oak View Living Center.
He was born June 24, 1928, in Boonville, a son of Charles F. and Maude Ray Bledsoe.
He was a lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area and had attended Jefferson City High School. He served in the U.S. Army with the First Calvary Division as a military policeman with the occupational forces in Japan during World War II.
He was a sales representative in the electronics field for many years. He retired from St. Marys Health Center in 1992 and was employed part-time for the Missouri River Regional Library.
Survivors include: three sons, R. Dale Kruse, Louisville, Ken., Michael C. Bledsoe and Scott W. Bledsoe, both of Jefferson City; one daughter, Beth A. Hampton, Eustis, Fla.; one sister, Norma L. Neely, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday in the Freeman Chapel. The Rev. C.D. Butler will officiate. Graveside services and burial with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's Disease Association.
BOESSEN
Frances J. Boessen, 90, Westphalia, died March 28, 2002, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born March 8, 1912, in Rich Fountain, a daughter of Joseph and Mayme Struemph Otto. She was married May 14, 1935, in Rich Fountain, to Matthias Boessen, who died May 20, 1962.
She was a substitute cook at Fatima and St. Joseph schools in Westphalia. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, and the church's sewing circle. She also was a member of the Women's Progressive Farmer's Association.
Survivors include: one daughter, Rose Lineberry, St. Martins; two sisters, Anna Otto, Jefferson City and Martha Lukens, Santa Cruz, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
Memorials are suggested to Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility Activities Fund or to Community Hospice.
HENTGES
Mary Margaret Hentges, 89, Jefferson City, died March 28, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born April 14, 1912, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Henry A. and Anna Mary Antweiler Hentges.
She was a 1930 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She served as a medical assistant to Dr. F.W. Gilham for 20 years and with Dr. G.D. Shull. From 1954 to her retirement in 1977 she worked as a secretary to the chief of office services of the Missouri Division of Employment Security.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; the Ladies Sodality; and the Cardinal Glennon Circle 322, Daughters of Isabella. She was a charter member of Girl Scout Troop 1 from which she received the Golden Eaglet Award. In 1974 she received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Red Cross.
Survivors include one niece, Cindy Turner, Quincy, Ill.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald W. Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.

PERKINS
Fern L. Perkins, 61, Eldon, died March 28, 2002, in Jefferson City.
She was born Feb. 17, 1941, in Ashland, a daughter of Johnnie H. and Ruth Vernell Griffen Nichols. Her father survives in Ashland. She was married June 19, 1959, in Ashland, to Fred W. Perkins, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker and a secretary at Muffle-It-Shop, Eldon, for 10 years. She was a member of Goshen Baptist Church, Wilton. She worked for Meals on Wheels and served in the Eldon Auxiliary Police.
Other survivors include: one son, Ronnie W. Perkins, Eldon; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Perkins, Eldon; two brothers, Kenneth Reed Nichols and Harold Lloyd Nichols, both of Ashland; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in Dooley Cemetery, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
BRIZENDINE
Carolyn Jane Brizendine, 58, California, died March 30, 2002, at her home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Moniteau County, a daughter of Herbert J. and Francis Nadine Jobe Peters. Her mother survives in California. She was married May 5, 1962, in California, to Jack Brizendine, who died Nov. 27, 1996.
She was a graduate of California High School. A homemaker, she was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, California.
Other survivors include: two sons, Bobby Brizendine, Jefferson City, and Terry Brizendine, Lake Ozark; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church, California. The Rev. Dennis Martin will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California.

HICKS
James Henry Hicks, 63, Versailles, died March 29, 2002, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospitals and Clinics.
He was born July 29, 1938, in Eldon, a son of Henry Raymond and Helen Jane Dori Hicks.
He was a heavy equipment operator and a Baptist.
Survivors include: one son, Danny Hicks, Versailles; three daughters, Helen Huff, Versailles, Lena Flaugher, Eldon, and Connie Halley, Kaiser; two brothers, Kenny Hicks, Camdenton, and Gerald Hicks, Eldon; four sisters, Alma Duncan, Jean Duncan and Wanda Eidson, all of Eldon, and Ruby Morgan, Barnett; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday.

LONG
Sarah L. Long, 84, Ashland, died March 28, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.
She was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Lawrence, Kan., a daughter of Enis Marcum and Roxanne Austin Marcum. She was married Feb. 14, 1948, in Key West, Fla., to Henry F. Long, who preceded her in death.
She was employed with Olan Mills Photography Studio.
Survivors include: a son, Douglas Long, Poway, Calif.; a daughter, Debbie Calvin, Hartsburg; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Ashland.
Visitation is one hour prior to services.
STARK
Cletis Judson Stark, 67, Brumley, died March 30, 2002, in Jefferson City.
He was born June 28, 1934, in Tuscumbia, a son of Joseph J. and Anna Opal Hill Stark. She was married Nov. 7, 1994, in Miami, Okla., to Ruby Jean Luttrell, who survives at the home.
He was an administrative industry supervisor for the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Other survivors include: three sons, David E. Stark, Olean, Michael S. Stark, Arkansas City, Kan., and Jeffrey S. Stark, Newcastle, Okla.; two daughters, Sharolyn K. Stark, Olathe, Kan., and Jennifer M. Stark, Laurie; one sister, Joyce A. Cotten, Eldon; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Two sons, Joseph Judson Stark and Bradley Judson Stark, and one grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Jim McGowin will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday.
