HOGELAND
Deborah Jo Hogeland, 45, Camdenton, died April 1, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Nov. 21, 1956, in St. Louis, a daughter of Charles and Gladys James Gabriel. She was married March 24, 1979, to Ronald Hogeland, who survives at the home.
She graduated from high school in St. Louis and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1991.
She helped in the family operation of The Phone Shop in Camdenton.
She was a member of the Walk On The Water Faith Church, where she was the children's church administrator.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Sara Weber, Camdenton; one stepson, Ryan Hogeland, Linn Creek; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Riegerix, O'Fallon; two sisters, Donna Marler, Catawissa, and Kathy Werkmiester, Jonesboro, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walk On The Water Faith Church. Pastor Larry Ollison will officiate. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
Memorials are suggested to Lake of the Ozarks Children's Home.
PAGE
Florence Page, 94, Fulton, died April 3, 2002, at Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 4, 1908, in Fulton, a daughter of E.W. and Carrie Schultze Erdman. She was married Aug. 20, 1968, to Lilburn "Dick" Page, who died April 13, 1989.
A graduate of William Woods College, she was a supervisor in the sewing department at Fulton State Hospital.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton. The Rev. Jim Wainwright will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
Memorials are suggested to Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
AMMERMAN
Donald Ray Ammerman, 56, Lenexa, Kan., formerly of Belle, died April 3, 2002, at his home.
He was born Nov. 28, 1945, in Sullivan, a son of Noel and Ethelyn Bray Ammerman. His mother survives in Belle.
He graduated from Belle High School and Lincoln University. He taught school, worked for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad and was currently employed as an actuary for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Survivors include one son, Greg Ammerman, St. Louis, and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sassmann's Funeral Home, Belle. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Belle.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday.
BERGMAN
Services were Wednesday for Cecilia Pauline Duvall Bergman, 96, Farmington, who died March 30, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital, St. Louis.
She was born Nov. 19, 1905, at St. Mary, a daughter of Cullen E. and Pauline Sara Townsend Duvall.
She graduated from Mineral Area College and St. Louis University. She was office manager at the U.S. Department of Agriculture office in Farmington before retiring.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was active in the Legion of Mary.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Colonists.
She was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Survivors include: one son, John Bergman, Farmington; one daughter, Pauline O'Hanlon, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Margaret Ann Weber, and one granddaughter, preceded her in death.
Services were at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. William Wigand officiated. Burial was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery at St. Mary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Arrangements were under the direction of Cozean Funeral Home, Farmington.
CALTON
Terry Lee Calton, 48, Gravois Mills, died April 4, 2002, at her home.
She was born April 2, 1954, in Bloomfield, Iowa, a daughter of Charles and Mary Helen Lancaster Simpson. Her parents survive in Gravois Mills. She was married Oct. 8, 1994, to Randy Calton, who survives at the home.
She was the manager of Charlie's Foods in Versailles.
Survivors include: one son, Chase Lancaster, Gravois Mills; one daughter, Peggy Lancaster, Columbia; four sisters, Peggy Simpson and Dixie Osment, both of Versailles, Libby Mander, Jacksonville, Ill., and Cathy Ryherd, Jefferson City; and one grandchild.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Robert D. Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the Optioncare/Missouri River Hospice.
COCKRUM
Tommy Cockrum, 72, Gainesville, died April 3, 2002, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Ozark County, a son of Clarence and Ann Hannaford Cockrum. He was married Feb. 14, 1973, to Emma Jean Cockrum, who died Dec. 31, 1995.
He worked as a supervisor at Baxter Health Care Lab. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Robert Burns Masonic Lodge, Gainesville.
Survivors include: three daughters, Diana Lynn Mosier, Tebbetts, Janet Leigh Brunner, Mountain Home, Ark., and Christy Ann Taylor, Gainesville; one stepdaughter, Lana Jean Bushong, Gainesville; one stepson, Mike Bushong, Gainesville; two brothers, Doyle Cockrum, and Bill Cockrum, both of Gainesville; one sister, Ann Kruse, Springfield; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
One son, Tommy Lee Cockrum, and one stepson, Larry Bushong, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville. Jeff Dotson will officiate. Burial with Masonic rites and military honors will be in Lilly Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
DUNAVANT
Helen Louise Dunavant, 71, St. Charles, formerly of Fulton, died April 2, 2002.
She was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Marling, a daughter of Paul and Dollie Myers Sapp.
Survivors include: one son, Randy Childress, state of West Virginia; one daughter, Melissa "Bee Bee" Jones, St. Peters; one sister, Joan Hensley, Fulton; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Raymond McCallister will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation.
NEWKIRK
Ethel Irene Newkirk, 83, Tipton, died April 3, 2002, at Moniteau Care Center, California.
She was born April 15, 1918, in Tipton, a daughter of Richard L. and Ethel A. Lawson Embry. She was married Feb. 19, 1935, in Tipton, to George Newkirk, who died Nov.5, 1997.
She was a lifelong resident of the Tipton community and a member of Tipton Community Baptist Church. She worked on the family farm and carpentry business.
Survivors include: one son, Jerry Newkirk, Bunceton; two daughters, Jean Stahl, Clarksburg, and Marjorie Mortenson, Tipton; one brother, Okal Embry, Tipton; two sisters, Hazel Rice and Tillie Holmberg, both of Tipton; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tipton Community Baptist Church. The Rev. Randall Deville will officiate. Burial will be in Moreau Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton.
Memorials are suggested to Tipton Community Baptist Church.
ROSS
Minnie L. Ross, 90, Jefferson City, died April 5, 2002, at Beverly Health Care Center.
She was born Dec. 9, 1911, in Monroe, La., a daughter of Gus and Lula Neal Lighting. She was married March 22, 1936, in St. Louis, to William Ross, who preceded her in death.
She attended school in St. Louis. She worked as manager of the Supreme Department Store in St. Louis for many years until 1975. She had been a resident of the Jefferson City area since 1996. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis and was active in the health unit at the church. She was a volunteer with the Salvation Army in St. Louis and Jefferson City.
Survivors include two nephews, Gene Johnson and Reginald Johnson, both of Jefferson City, and two nieces, Carolyn Pelc, Jefferson City, and Carla Jones, St. Louis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary. Pastor Ted Huston will officiate. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
