ERNST

Joseph A. Ernst, 91, Mount Vernon, formerly of Camdenton, died May 13, 2002, at the Missouri Veteran's Home, Mount Vernon.

He was born June 29, 1910, in Maplewood, a son of John E. and Elizabeth Leur Ernst. He was married in 1946 to Edna Mae Scannell, who died Nov. 25, 1992.

He lived in St. Louis and Maplewood where he graduated from high school. He moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1973. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: one son, Donald Ernst, Oakville; one daughter, Helen Brumitt-Hood, Springfield; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, Maplewood. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Missouri Veteran's Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton.

GALBREATH

Randolph Travis Galbreath, 46, Fulton, died May 13, 2002 at Callaway Community Hospital.

He was born Oct. 27, 1955, in Fulton, a son of James W. and Henrietta Holmes Galbreath. His mother survives in Fulton.

He attended Marshall Public School.

Other survivors include: five sisters, Sharron A. Kelly, Columbia, Barbara J. Logan, Peggy S. Pemberton, Sandra K. Griffin and Bettye L. Drivers, all of  Jefferson City; five brothers, James Galbreath Jr. and Tony Galbreath, both of Fulton, Fred Galbreath, Little Rock, Ark., Don Galbreath,  Jefferson City, and Jack Galbreath, Evanston, Ill.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Warren Funeral Chapel, Fulton. The Rev. Henry Brewer will officiate. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Fulton.

Visitation will be private.

HURT

Edna Marie Hurt, 81,  Jefferson City, died May 15, 2002.

She was born July 6, 1921, in Bel Air, a daughter of Bert L. and Iva Nora Newell Fisher. She was married Aug. 23, 1941, to Clarence E. Hurt, who died in 1969.

She graduated from Laura Speed Elliot High School in Boonville, where she lived most of her life. She worked at the Selwyn Shoe Company in Boonville. She moved to Versailles in 1969 and worked as a receptionist for a doctor. She returned to Boonville and retired as a cook for the Boonville school system. She also lived in Columbia and then moved to  Jefferson City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Versailles. She was a past member of the Eastern Star Lodge in Versailles.

Survivors include: two sons, Gary Hurt, and Michael Hurt, both of Columbia; one brother, James Elmer Fisher,  Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at William Wood Funeral Home in Boonville. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

LEE

Eulah I. "Judy" Hutchison Lee, 88, St. Martins, died May 13, 2002, in  Jefferson City.

She was born July 22, 1913, in Eldon, a daughter of James G. and Myrtle Rosetta Wright Hutchison. She was married Dec. 31, 1963, in Las Vegas, to Anthony "Tony" Lee, who died May 6, 1983.

She was a cook at the Little Company of Mary's Hospital. She was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church, St. Martins.

Survivors include: two sons, John Earl Franklin, San Jose, Calif., and Dennis Lucas, Barnett; one daughter, Janice Lucas, Arcadia, Calif.; one sister, Ellen Guyan, Torrance, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Ed Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

WALSTON

Letha V. Walston, 59, Camdenton, died May 12, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born Aug. 28, 1942, in Roswell, N.M., a daughter of John and Dora Montgomery Washman. Her father survives in Camdenton.

She worked at Modine Manufacturing for nearly 27 years as a production worker.

Other survivors include: one son, Richard Walston, Camdenton; one daughter, Anita Wilkey, Montreal, Mo.; four brothers, Thomas Washman, Lebanon, James Washman, Camdenton, Gaylord Washman, Pacific, and Charlie Washman, Truth or Consequences, N.M.; one sister, Ida Mae Hamilton, Truth or Consequences; and eight grandchildren.

One son, Billy Walston, preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Honey Cemetery, Stoutland.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

KAY

Bernice A. Kay, 96,  Jefferson City, died May 14, 2002, at  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

She was born Nov. 18, 1905, in Gladstone, a daughter of Raymond C. and Hettie Howard Stevens Austin. She was married May 2, 1936, in Chicago, to Julian Alexander Kay, who died Oct. 9, 1990.

She was a homemaker and lived in  Jefferson City for two years. She previously lived in Palm Springs, Calif., where she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Community Church of Palm Springs.

Shs is survived by nephews and nieces.

Private family services will be Friday. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.

BAILEY

Charles Bailey, 73, Lake Ozark, died May 14, 2002, in Lake Ozark.

He was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Miller County, a son of Willis H. and Eunice E. Clark Bailey. He was married May 25, 1973, in Eldon, to Virginia A. Potter, who survives at the home.

He worked in land and sales for more than 30 years. He was an Army veteran and attended Parks Air College.

Other survivors include two brothers, Donald O. Bailey and Bob G. Bailey, both of Eldon.

One son, Ricky C. Bailey, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Danny Graham will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Old Path Baptist Church.

EICKHOFF

Agnes Eickhoff, 86, Russellville, died May 14, 2002, in Russellville.

She was born July 2, 1915, in Marys Home, a daughter of Frank and Maggie Talken Koetting. She was married June 19, 1943, in Marys Home, to Otto John Eickhoff, who died Jan. 24, 1988.

She was a lifelong resident of the Russellville area and a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Mary's Home.

Survivors include: one son, Harry Eickhoff, Russellville; one brother, Otto Koetting,  Jefferson City; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

ULREY

Jack Ulrey, 89, Eldon, died May 15, 2002, in Eldon.

He was born Feb. 17, 1913, in Eldon, a son of Dan and Molly Barringer Ulrey. He was married June 24, 1947, in Eldon, to Ann Rusk Ulrey, who died Oct. 24, 1999.

He worked for the Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in Eldon for many years until his retirement. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Eldon and Masonic Lodge 381. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Ulrey, Bartlesville, Okla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Fred Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Eldon United Methodist Church.
