SCHLUP
Lorene B. Schlup, 92, Jamestown, died May 20, 2002, at her home.
She was born Dec. 4, 1909, in Wooldridge, a daughter of Albert and Maggie McClahan Bruce. She was married Feb. 1, 1936, in Kansas City, Kan., to Bernard L. Schlup, who survives at the home.
She attended Wooldridge School and was a lifetime member of Wooldridge Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. A homemaker, she previously lived in the state of California.
She also is survived by one sister, Eula Renfrow, Columbia.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Chester Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Thursday.

IRVIN
Beverly R. Stone Irvin, Jefferson City, died May 21, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was a daughter of Abe and Mayme Hughes Stone. She was married Oct. 3, 1959, in Montgomery City, to Loran "Doc" Irvin, who died Nov. 1, 1999.
She was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was a homemaker and lived in Kansas City for 27 years until retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church, New Bloomfield.
Survivors include: one son, Gregory Loran Irvin, Kansas City; one daughter, Melissa J. Nilges, Holts Summit; two sisters, Doris Murphy, Jefferson City, and Mildred Schnieder, California; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. The Rev. Bill Wormsley will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Friday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
GOTSCH
Loretta D. Gotsch, 87, Jefferson City, died May 21, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born April 13, 1915, in Mokane, a daughter of John D. and Martha Alice Drummond Zbinden. She was married April 13, 1948, to Curtis Gotsch, who died in 1986.
Survivors include: two daughters, Susan Busch, Tulsa, Okla., and Nancy Bird, Jefferson City; one sister, Laura Mueller, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.
Private family services and burial will be in Steedman Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
MELTON
Rick Eugene Melton, 49, Osage Beach, died May 19, 2002, at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born July 31, 1952, in California, a son of Donald and Faye Bellamy Melton, who survive in California. He was married Aug. 25, 1979, in St. Louis, to Linda Lee Fritsche, who survives at the home.
He graduated from California High School in 1970 and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg in 1974. He worked for Concord Laboratories as a manufacturer's representative in St. Louis. He was owner of Pillar Technologies where he designed and marketed a three-wheeled scooter. He also worked as a financial representative with Edward Jones Investments in Camdenton. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Chapel in Osage Beach.
Other survivors include one son, Scott Oliver Melton, of the home, one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Melton, of the home, and one sister, Cheryl McKinney, Wichita, Kan.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Hope Lutheran Chapel, Osage Beach. The Rev. John Dautenhahn and Stewart Pepper will officiate. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Thursday at the church.

MOSLEY
Joseph Carson Mosley Sr., 94, Mexico, formerly of Mokane, died May 21, 2002, at Audrain Medical Center, Mexico.
He was born Aug. 6, 1907, in Toledo, Mo., a son of Clyde and Rosie Frey Mosley. He was married April 22, 1929, in Belleville, Ill., to Lois Maddox, who died Nov. 13, 1999.
He worked as the Mokane postmaster for 42 years. He was a member of 612 AF & AM of Mokane for 70 years. He also belonged to IOOF 597 and the Mokane Lions Club.
Survivors include: two sons, James "Jim" Mosley, Mexico, and Joseph Mosley Jr., Hot Springs Village, Ark.; two daughters, Maurene Painter, Victoria, Texas , and Martha Linhardt, Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Opal Farson, Phoenix; 17 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
One infant son and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Foundation for the Blind.
SMITH
Samuel Wiley Smith, Jr., 88, Jefferson City, died May 19, 2002, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born May 20, 1913, in Eminence, a son of Samuel W. Sr., and Nettie Bell Grimes Smith. He was married May 16, 1941, in Van Buren, to Freda Pauline Stark, who survives in Jefferson City.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winona and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include: one son, Stanley K. Smith, Sr., Harrisburg, Pa.; one daughter, Brenda M. Smith Forck, Jefferson City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Winona. The Rev. Monte Shinkle will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Duncan Funeral Chapel, Winona.

WILSON
Stirla Ann Wilson, 56, Rocky Mount, died May 22, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born July 3, 1945, in Lebanon, a daughter of Ernest and Lena Waters Heimbeaugh. She was married in Versailles, to Durwood Wilson, who survives at the home.
She worked for Fasco in Eldon for 23 years. She attended the Big Rock Baptist Church near Barnett.
Survivors include: two sons, Ernest Lee Wilson, Montreal, and Leonard Wilson, of the home; three sisters, Barbara Teer, Camdenton, Phyllis Bishop, Eldridge, and Freida Orlando, Camdenton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles. The Rev. Rod Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Rocky Mount.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

MOHR
Kenneth B. Mohr, 67, Chamois, died May 23, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Sept. 17, 1934, in St. Louis County, a son of Henry and Theresa Gauding Mohr. He was married Nov. 26, 1965, in St. Ann, to Sue Ann Enloe Mohr, who survives at the home.
He worked for McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis for 36 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Oklahoma Church of Christ and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and was retired from the Naval Reserves.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Connie S. Weaks and Theresa A. Marksbury, both of St. Louis County, and Dawn R. Mohr, Chamois; one sister, Genevieve Leuthans, St. Louis County; and one grandson.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Oklahoma Church of Christ in Osage County. Woody Wilkinson will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Stars and Stripes Relay for Life Team, or a charity of the donor's choice.
BASINGER
Robert C. Basinger, 84, California, died May 23, 2002, at California Care Center.
He was born Oct. 17, 1917, near Versailles, a son of Christian W. and Sarah Badertscher Basinger. He was married Oct. 26, 1941, in California, to Doris E. Tuepker, who died July 24, 1997.
He was a 1935 graduate of California High School. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of California United Church of Christ. He was a member of the NFO and MFA.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Weis, California; one brother, Clayton Basinger, California; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Gary Schulte and the Rev. Judith Rinehart Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Evangelical Cemetery, California.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Saturday.
