BLOCK
Robert Edward Block, 79, Jefferson City, died June 2, 2002, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.
He was born April 11, 1923, in Jefferson City, a son of Victor and Mayme Caspari Block. He was married Nov. 27, 1947, in St. Martins, to Stella Marie Herman, who survives at the home.
He was a 1942 graduate of St. Peter High School and attended the University of Missouri. He worked for Jefferson Cleaners. He worked for 34 years at Capital City Water Company, retiring in 1986 as superintendent.
He was a life member of the American Water Works Association and was instrumental in establishing Cole County Water District 3. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church where he was on the parish council and active in the Holy Name Society. He was a member of Apache Flats Lions Club, St. Martin Baseball team, Jefferson City Radio Control Club and Academy of Model Aeronautics.
He was scoutmaster of St. Martin Boy Scout Troop 12. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: three sons, David J. Block, Jamestown, Wayne F. Block, Sussex, Wis., and Gary H. Block, California; three brothers, James Block and Richard Block, both of Jefferson City, and Victor Block, St. Elizabeth; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin Catholic Church. The Rev. Edwin A Schmidt will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in St. Martin Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church or to Masses.
CAHOW
William D. Cahow, 42, Otterville, died June 2, 2002, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born March 5, 1960, in Washington , a son of Phillip L. and Alice Jones Cahow. His mother, Alice Petree, survives in Hartsburg. His father and stepmother, Phillip and Scarlet Cahow, survive in Kansas City.
He was a lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area and attended school in Otterville. He worked as a laborer in the construction industry.
Survivors include: one son, Leo Carpenter, Nevada; one daughter, Amanda Cahow, Nevada; one brother, Larry Cahow, Oak Grove; and paternal grandmother, Lila Cahow, Wheatland.
Private family services will be held.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
CURNUTT
Doris Dean Curnutt, Sunrise Beach, died June 1, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was a daughter of Edward and Anna Hankerson. She was married to Earl L. Brown, who died Feb. 1990. She was married in 1998, in Versailles, to Kenneth Curnutt, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she was a Methodist.
Survivors include: two sons, Earl L. Brown, Jr., Linn Creek, and Eric L. Brown, Lebanon; three daughters, Eldonna K. Gorden and Cassandra S. Kimbrell, both of Mena, Ariz., and Sherry R. Leach, Joplin; one sister, Esther M. Harris, Independence; 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Private family services will be held. The body will be cremated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
GOFF
Mildred Mary "Mim" Goff, 84, Jefferson City, died June 3, 2002, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
She was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Steedman, a daughter of A.T. and Stella F. Quick Becker. She was married March 27, 1949, in Jefferson City, to Chester W. Goff, who died Aug. 31, 1991.
She was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. She and her husband owned and operated Becker's Market for a number of years before moving to Kansas City in 1966. She moved back to Jefferson City in 1990. She was a member of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church in Raytown.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Wilson, Jefferson City, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
SCHWALLER
Sylvester W. "Zeke" Schwaller, 83, Holts Summit, died June 1, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 12, 1918, in Mary's Home, a son of Albert and Sophia Doerhoff Schwaller. He was married May 25, 1942, in Mary's Home, to Nellie Priest, who survives at the home.
He was a graduate of Eugene High School. He worked for Shikles Motor Company, Heisinger & Kolb, and McKay Buick. He also was a real estate agent and a self-employed contractor. He was a draftsman for FAB Building Supply until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include, two daughters, Judy Morse, Holts Summit, and Susie Schroeder, Jefferson City, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One great-grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City. The Rev. Joseph S. Corel will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

O'MALLEY
Michael Joseph "Bud" O'Malley, 73, Jefferson City, died May 31, 2002, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born Oct. 30, 1928, in Coaldale, Pa., a son of Michael P. and Ellen Dougherty O'Malley.
He was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School and attended New York University. He was a member of St. Gregory's Benedictine Abbey for several years. He worked for the Hammond Organ Company as a sales representative. He worked for Ramada Inns in management and for the Secretary of State in archives as a records analyst until his retirement.
He was a teacher at Helias High School and also taught art and music.
A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and was organist at various churches. He was a member of the American Legion and the Evening Optimist Club. He was one of the founders of the Jefferson City Little Theatre and was a charter member of the Jefferson City Cantorum. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include four brothers, Conal O'Malley, New Providence, Pa., Paul O'Malley, Irvine, Calif., Edward O'Malley, Columbia, Md., and Thomas O'Malley, Lancaster, Pa., and one sister, Marie Gorman, Lincroft, N.J.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Coaldale, Pa. Burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pa.
Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Thursday at Paddy Malone's for an Irish wake.
Memorials are suggested to Masses or the Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.
KINDRICK
Vera B. Kindrick, 92, Versailles, died June 3, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Jan. 5, 1910, in Blackwater, a daughter of Bernie J. and Edith Evans Jeffress. She was married Nov. 12, 1930, to James W. Kindrick, who died Jan. 16, 1973.
She was a cook at Top's Cafe, The Snack House, Pat's Cafe in Versailles, and later at the Versailles Nutrition Site. She was a member of the Glensted United Methodist Church near Versailles.
Survivors include one daughter, Edna Lee Wright, Camdenton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Paul Burns will officiate. Burial will be in Glensted Cemetery near Versailles.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Glensted United Methodist Church.
BROWN
Services were Tuesday for Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Brown, 53, Lee's Summit, who died May 30, 2002, at Independence Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 15, 1949, in St. James, a daughter of Frank and Nora Richardson Grotha. Her mother survives in St. James. She was married in 1968 to Dale Brown, who survives in Lee's Summit.
She earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, and a master's degree in school administration from Lincoln University.
She taught at Washington Public School, St. Francis Borgia Regional High School, Washington , St. Joseph Cathedral Elementary and Shull Elementary and Timber Creek schools in the Raymore-Peculiar School District.
She was a member of MENC and MSTA. She was a founding member and president elect of Central Missouri Kodaly Association.
Other survivors include: two sons, Timothy Brown, Columbia, and Jeoffrey Brown, of the home; and three sisters, Patricia Tompkins and Martha Ehrsam, both of Jefferson City, and Angie Holt, St. James.
Services were at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. James. Burial was in Licklider Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
