GRONER

Christine Regina Groner, 93, St. Thomas, died June 15, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.

She was born Dec. 23, 1908, in Koeltztown, a daughter of Frank and Mary Boeckman Wieberg. She was married Feb. 7, 1928, in St. Thomas, to Simon Henry Groner, who died April 8, 1991.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in St. Thomas. She was a member of St. Ann's Sodality, the Sewing Circle and the Over 50 Club.

Survivors include: three sons, Raymond Groner, Clement Groner, and Art Groner, all of St. Thomas; two daughters, Rita Otto, St. Thomas, and Odelia Schmidt, Wardsville; five brothers, Frank Wieberg, Argyle, Robert Wieberg, St. Ann, Cornelius Wieberg, Groom, Texas , Alfred Wieberg, Westphalia, and Marcellus Wieberg,  Jefferson City; one sister, Marie Cox, Newton, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, and three step great-great-grandchildren.

Two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Thomas. The Rev. Don Antweiler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8:30 p.m. today, with a senior citizens rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a wake service at 8 p.m., at St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.

HOFF

John August Hoff, 92, Tipton, died June 16, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born March 31, 1910, in Nevada, a daughter of Albert and Katie Thiel Hoff. He was married May 16, 1934, in Tipton, to Amelia Helen Schmid, who died Jan. 25, 1998.

A lifelong resident of Tipton, he was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton, and the Tipton Knights of Columbus. He worked as a broom maker.

Survivors include: one son, Donald Hoff, Tipton; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

One grandson preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. The Rev. Henry Reichert and the Rev. Edwin Schmidt will officiate.

The remains will be cremated.

Memorials are suggested to St. Andrew's School.

REEVES

Eldon Reeves, 55, Vienna, died June 17, 2002, at his home.

He was born Feb. 12, 1947, in Vienna, a son of Melvin and Reba Reeves. He was married June 17, 1965, in Vienna, to Edna Handing, who survives in Vienna.

He was a member of Vienna Christian Life Assembly and was a self-employed car dealer. He worked in construction and wood cutting.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Kristy Logan and Jennifer Reeves, both of Vienna; one brother, William Reeves, Farmington; four sisters, Norma Jean Helton, Dixon, Betty Siebert, Vienna, Jackie Giddens, St. Clair, and Patty Blakenship, New Haven; and two grandsons.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pastor Don Kelley will officiate. Burial will be in Vienna Public Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Reeves family.

SHERRELL

Lenora Mann Sherrell, 92, Vienna, died June 17, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 16, 1910, in Trimble, Wis. She was married in Vienna, to William "Bill" Sherrell, who died Dec. 1, 1971.

A homemaker, she attended Sheppard Baptist Church and Pisgah Baptist Church, near Dixon.

Survivors include: two sons, Douglas Sherrell, St. Louis, and Robert Sherrell, Decatur, Texas ; one daughter, Benita Jones, Vienna; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one step grandson; five step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-granddaughter.

One son, Stephen Sherrell, died Feb. 6, 1955, and one daughter, Georgia Hamm, died Sept. 21, 1988.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. The Rev. Michael Mann will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

WELCH

Catherine E. "Cathy" Welch, 74, California, died June 16, 2002, at her home.

She was born May 10, 1928, in Elston, a daughter of Herbert and Caroline Moeller Stegeman. She was married March 31, 1954, in Marshall, to LeRoy Welch, who survives at the home.

A homemaker, she worked in cashiering for Military Bases Exchanges Services and the Noncommissioned Officers Clubs. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Sodality. She attended the Nutrition Center, California.

Other survivors include: one son, Wayne Welch, Washington , D.C.; six brothers, Elmer Stegeman, Paul Stegeman, Marvin Stegeman and Bob Stegeman, all of  Jefferson City, Leroy Stegeman, Meta, and Edwin Stegeman, Wardsville; and four sisters, Irene Adrian,  Jefferson City, Florence Toebben, Vienna, Mary Taggart, Westphalia, and Ann Berendzen, Centertown.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Annunciation Catholic Church. Msgr. Francis Gillgannon will officiate. Burial will be in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Moniteau Chapter, c/o Judy Allee, P.O. Box 333, Latham, Mo. 65050.

COTHREN

Margaret J. "Peggy" Femrite Cothren, 57, Rocky Mount, died June 18, 2002, in  Jefferson City.

She was born Sept. 15, 1944, in Philadelphia, a daughter of Chester and Pauline Brown. She was married to Dean E. Femrite, who preceded her in death. She was married June 30, 2001, in Henley, to John F. Cothren, who survives at the home.

She worked at Fasco Industries in Eldon for 25 years as a repair operator.

Survivors include: two sons, Dean E. Femrite Jr., Portland, Ore., and Chad A. Femrite, Eugene; one daughter, Tina L. Godbey, Eldon; two stepdaughters, Terri L. Murry, Holden, and Pam Owens, Barnett; three brothers, Jim Brown and Charlie Brown, both of Janesville, Wis., and Bob Brown, Leesville, La.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Two stepsons and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

No services are planned. The body was cremated.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

DUNKIN

Nell Dunkin, 96, Versailles, died June 18, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 28, 1906, in the state of Washington , a daughter of C.C. and Ona Weaver Wilson. She was married Jan. 17, 1942, to John S. "Jack" Dunkin, who died Jan. 11, 1971.

She worked at American Sales in Versailles and was a member of Versailles United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Jeanie Leeper will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Eldon.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday.

SANDBOTHE

Anna T. Sandbothe, 90, Linn, died June 18, 2002, at Green Meadows Skilled Care, Linn.

She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Linn, a daughter of Jule and Estelle Boillot Hubert. She was married to Alphonse H. Sandbothe, who died Oct. 21, 1994.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. George Church.

Survivors include nephews and nieces.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. George Church. The Rev. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at Morton Funeral Home in Linn.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

AMES

Dorothy A. Ames, 73, Chamois, died June 18, 2002, at Green Meadows Health Care Center.

She was born Oct. 3, 1928, a daughter of Henry F. and Cora A. McKnight Walker. Her mother survives in Chamois. She was married April 24, 1948, in Chamois, to Harry M. Ames, who died April 22, 1986.

She attended St. Aubert and Chamois schools. She was a homemaker and a member of Chamois Christian Church.

Survivors include: one son, Terry Ames, Chamois; one daughter, Debra Gilbert, Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Geneva White , Chamois, and Mary Lindhorst, Kansas City; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Shirley Cemetery near Chamois. The Rev. Gary Ruff will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to Green Meadows Health Care Center Alzheimer's Unit.

Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Directors, Chamois.
