HACK

Mary Malissa Hack, 92,  Jefferson City, died June 19, 2002, at  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

She was born Aug. 2, 1909, near Tunas, a daughter of B.W. and Otta Barnhart Stidham. She was married Aug. 26, 1929, in Buffalo, to Ralph Hack, who died Sept. 16, 1977.

She had lived in Dallas County and worked in her father's general store and the post office. She was the postmaster from 1957 until her retirement in 1969. She had been a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, near Tunas, and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, New Bloomfield. She had lived in New Bloomfield.

Survivors include: one daughter, Treva Jennings, New Bloomfield; one sister, Geneva McDaniel, Buffalo; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

One daughter, Ella Dewey, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. The Rev. Rick Hopkins and the Rev. Bud Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, New Bloomfield.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Mary Hack Memorial Fund.

KEYS

E. Irene Keys, 75,  Jefferson City, died June 14, 2002, at her home.

She was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Croyle, Pa., a daughter of Oliver and Pearl Miller. She was married to Howard Richard Keys, who preceded her in death.

A homemaker, she moved to  Jefferson City from Land O' Lakes, Fla., in 2000.

Survivors include: three sons, Howard "Rick" Keys Jr.,  Jefferson City, John A. Keys, Apex, N.C., and Kenneth Keys, state of Maryland; one daughter, Judith I. Keys, Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Velda Archibald and Dorothy Miller, both of Land O' Lakes; one brother, Devore Miller, state of New Jersey; and one granddaughter.

Burial will be at sea.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society.

KUSCHEL

Robert A. Kuschel, 72, Hermann, died June 18, 2002, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Chamois, a son Albert J. and Armella Leffmann Kuschel. He was married June 1, 1968, in Hermann, to Irene E. Wiegand, who died Oct. 16, 1991.

He was a farmer and also worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory for several years until retiring. He was a member of Hermann United Methodist Church and a former member of St. James U.C.C. in Morrison. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include one brother, Reuben Kuschel, Chamois.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann. The Rev. Darrell Deeker will officiate. Burial will be in Hermann Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to St. Johns, Stolpe or Clary cemeteries.

LAIRMORE

Mabel Victoria Lairmore, 91,  Jefferson City, died June 19, 2002, in Columbia.

She was born Sept. 13, 1910, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Antone and Clara Louise Loesch Buel. She was married Oct. 4, 1930, in  Jefferson City, to Victor Lairmore, who died Oct. 18, 1943.

She worked for the Division of Employment Security from 1960 to 1975. She was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of First Church of God. She earned a GED at age 48 and graduated from  Jefferson City Business College at 50.

Survivors include: one son, Donald Buel Lairmore, Columbia; three daughters, Dorothy Michel-Lairmore,  Jefferson City, Dolores Ann Werdehausen, Holts Summit, and Donna LaRue Gregory, Columbia; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. The Rev. Mark West will officiate. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to First Church of God,  Jefferson City.

MORLAND

Gerry D. Morland, 34, Chamois, died June 18, 2002, at his home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1967, in  Jefferson City, a son of Carl E. and Marjorie M. Stockhorst Morland, who survive in Chamois. He was married Feb. 21, 1992, in Osage County, to Kimberly Sue O'Dell, who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he graduated from  Jefferson City High School in 1986 and Linn Technical School in 1988.

He worked for Mike Kehoe Ford in Linn as an auto mechanic since 1988. He had worked for Ewers Tire Company in  Jefferson City.

He attended the Catholic church and the Christian Community Methodist Church in  Jefferson City.

Survivors include: two sons, Lucas R. Morland and Levi S. Morland, both of the home; one daughter, Lacy M. Morland, of the home; one sister, Judy Ann Grothoff, Holts Summit; and maternal grandmother, Veronica Stockhorst, Fulton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. George Church in Linn. The Rev. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Morton Funeral Home in Linn.

Memorials are suggested to the Gerry Morland Children's Scholarship Fund, in care of Morton Funeral Home, P.O. Box 259, Linn, Mo. 65051.

THOMAS

Charlotte Pauline Thomas, 86, Fulton, died June 19, 2002, at Audrain Medical Center, Mexico.

She was born July 24, 1915, in Fulton, a daughter of Frank and Elena Mae Stewart Massey. She was married March 31, 1934, to Louis Brown "Brownie" Thomas, who died May 21, 1990.

She worked as a psychiatric aide at Fulton State Hospital, retiring in 1977. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fulton.

Survivors include: two daughters, Sharon Cave and Dora Craighead, both of Fulton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

One grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas, Fulton, Mo. 65251.

WILSON

Cleo Wilson, 78, Eldon, died June 18, 2002, in  Jefferson City.

She was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Barnett, a daughter of James M. and Beatrice L. Adcock Routon. She was married Sept. 19, 1951, in Harrison, Ark., to Ernest Wilson, who survives at the home.

She lived in Barnett and Eldon before living in the Kansas City area for more than 40 years. She moved back to Eldon after retiring. She worked for Glaser Brothers Pants Factory, Eldon. She was a member of Hopewell Christian Church.

Other survivors include: three sons, Jim Wilson, Eldon, Dwayne Wilson, Lee's Summit, and Chester Wilson, Kansas City; one daughter, Pat McKinley, Eldon; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

One son, Darrell Wilson, and one grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Minister Tom Farrington will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

COZART

Herbert James Cozart, 72, Stover, died June 19, 2002, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Weskit, Pa., a son of Hubert C. and Rebecca Ruth Hilton Cozart. He was married May 31, 1962, to Aileen Alliett, who survives at the home.

He retired as a senior master sergeant in the Air Force after 20 years of active duty.

Other survivors include: one son, Christopher James Cozart, Napoleon; one daughter, Judy Ann Pape, Syracuse, Ohio; three brothers, Stanley L. Cozart, Columbus, Ohio, Gerald L. Cozart, Campbell, Ohio, and Joseph Cozart, Pickerington, Ohio; four sisters, Maxine Harvey, St. Joseph, Margry Clark, Las Vegas, Glenda Jones, Columbus, and Patricia Adams, St. Petersburg, Fla.; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine, Ohio. Burial with military honors will be in Bald Knobs Cemetery, near Long Bottom, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

LARSEN

Services were today for William H. Larsen, 75, Warrensburg, who died June 18, 2002, at Western Missouri Medical Center, Warrensburg.

He was born Jan. 26, 1927, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, a son of Harold and Ada Bishop Larsen. He was married to Elizabeth J. "Betty" Hughes, who died Oct. 22, 1993.

He was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. He served in the Navy during World War II and Korea. He worked in insurance until retirement in 1994.

Survivors include: five daughters, Sharon Herzberg, Overland Park, Kan., Michelle Harris,  Jefferson City, Mary Peterson, Humboldt, Iowa, Janice Reece, Bismark, N.D., and Linda Brehmer, Brainerd, Minn.; two sisters, June Colton, Battle Lake, Minn., and Lucille Slosser, Council Bluffs; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Private family graveside services with military honors were in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, Mo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cutler Funeral Home, Council Bluffs.
