BURLINGAME

Grace V. Burlingame, 97, Eldon, died June 30, 2002, in Eldon.

She was born June 27, 1905, in Eldon, a daughter of Benjamine D. and Dora Savage Madole. She was married Jan 14, 1925, in Eldon, to Aubrey W. Burlingame, who died Aug. 12, 1972.

She lived in the High Point/Eldon communities all of her life, moving from the farm to Eldon in 1989. She made uniforms for the military during World War II. She was employed with Glaser Brothers Manufacturing Company in Eldon for 20 years.

Survivors include: one son, Lenvil Burlingame, Columbia; one daughter, Wilma Barrett, Springfield; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Shirley Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

DREXEL

Angela A. Drexel, 70, Sunrise Beach, died June 27, 2002, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

She was born July 9, 1931, in Ashton, Neb., a daughter of Anton and Florence Gorezki Karajewski. She was married Oct. 14, 1950, to Henry Drexel, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie.

Other survivors include: two sons, Robert Drexel, Omaha, Neb., and William Drexel, Plano, Texas ; one daughter, Joan Rebensdorf, Coto De Caza, Calif.; one brother, David Karajewski, North Platte, Neb.; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Omaha. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Omaha.

Memorials are suggested to Mother Shrine of St. Patrick in Laurie.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

JONES

William Spencer Jones, 90, Mexico, formerly of Hartsburg, died June 30, 2002, at Audrain Medical Center, Mexico.

He was born Aug. 22, 1911, in Ashland, a son of William T. and Edna Pearl Bullard Jones.

He was a graduate of Ashland High School and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia.

He was a member of the Audubon Society, Sierra Club, Wilderness Society and the Nature Conservancy. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: three sisters, Merle Jones and Alice Ewing, both of Norman, Okla., and Faye Olmsted Jones, Lawrence, Kan.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors,  Jefferson City. The Rev. Ken Lumley will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hartsburg.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

HEDGPETH

Eunice Valerie Hedgpeth, 81, Iberia, died June 29, 2002, at Maries Manor Health Care, Vienna.

She was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Stoutland, a daughter of Keller R. and Maggie Alpha Jacobs Barr. She was married July 8, 1981, in Chula Vista, Calif., to William Louis Hedgpeth Jr., who survives at the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Roby Lee Edwards, Gainesville, Ga.; one daughter, Anita Sue Maples, Eldon; one stepdaughter, Raenel Wilde, Santee, Calif.; three brothers, Donald Barr and Bob Barr, both of Springfield, and William Barr, Lee's Summit; one sister, Mildred Webster, Stoutland; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

One stepson, Michael Hedgpeth, preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, in Stoutland Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon, Tuesday at Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.

SMITH

Robert G. Smith, 67,  Jefferson City, died June 29, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born July 14, 1934, in Sullivan County, a son of Francis and Verna Mabel Lunsford Bonebright Smith. He was married Oct. 12, 1990, in Lake Ozark, to Anita Cortesio, who survives at the home.

He attended school in Unionville. He was director of respiratory therapy at Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville from 1971-1989 and was a respiratory therapist at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City from 1989-1996. He was a member of Unionville Masonic Lodge 210, the National Rifle Association and VFW Post 5170 in Unionville. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Other survivors include: one son, Brandon Haas, Columbia; two daughters, Dee Funk and Hillary Haas, both of  Jefferson City; two sisters, Virginia Bruckshaw, Kansas City, and Donna Ramirez, Tomah, Wis.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. The Rev. Alvin H. Lange will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in St. Louis.

AMOS

Arvil E. Amos, 83, Kansas City, died June 30, 2002, at North Kansas City Hospital.

He was born Sept. 25, 1918, in Cole County, a son of Alonzo and Ada Robertson Amos. He was married to Mary Ann Amos, who survives at the home.

He was worked for 30 years for Local Union 663, heavy construction. He was a Navy veteran.

Other survivors include: one son, Donald Amos, Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Carolyn Mabbitt, Kansas City; one brother, Norman Amos,  Jefferson City; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.

Visitation will be from 6-8:30 p.m. today at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, Kansas City.

Memorials are suggested to the Building Fund, Tower View Baptist Church, 7301 NE 50th St., Kansas City, Mo. 64119.

CLARY

Caleb R. Clary, 13, Linn, died June 30, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 6, 1989, in Warrensburg, a son of John T. and Helen Clary. His father survives in Columbia and his mother survives in Linn.

H was a member of Christ Church Fellowship in Warrensburg.

Other survivors include one sister, Heather D. Beck,  Jefferson City, and paternal grandfather, Ralph E. Clary, Clinton.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home in Linn. Pastor Becky Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to United Cerebral Palsy Association or the Easter Seals.

GILLIAM

Curtis Ray Gilliam, 73, Iberia, died July 1, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born March 4, 1929, in Miller County, a son of Claude and Verna Wolliver Gilliam. He was married April 25, 1945, in Brumley, to Betty Duncan, who survives at the home.

He worked in construction for many years and owned RAJAC Construction and Development Corporation in  Jefferson City for 19 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Carpenters Local 945. He was a member of Mt. Union Church of Christ near Brumley.

Other survivors include: two brothers, William Gilliam and Gene Gilliam, both of Brumley; two sisters, Christine Collins, Cassville, and Maxine Duncan, Iberia; two granddaughters.

One son, Jack D. Gilliam, died April 29, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Roy Westbrook will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Fair Haven Children's Home in Stafford.

WILLIAMSON

Louis Lee "Louie" Williamson, 52, Fulton, died June 30, 2002, in Fulton.

He was born Nov. 15, 1949, in  Jefferson City, a son of Robert H. and Marie Snell Williamson. His stepmother, Lora Williamson, survives in Columbia. He was married Nov. 7, 1975, in Fulton, to Brenda Fischer.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. A farmer, he attended Central Christian Church. He graduated from Mokane High School in 1968.

Other survivors include two daughters, Leah Beth Williamson and Karen Marie Williamson, both of Fulton; and one sister, Delores Mason, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Bob Vegirad will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Mokane Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

DICKENSHEETS

Mary Jayne Dickensheets, 79, Gravois Mills, died June 29, 2002, at her home.

Arrangements are at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
