LOGSDON
Bessie D. Logsdon, 86, California, died July 4, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born March 27, 1916, in Gower, a daughter of Jesse O. and Rosetta Dean Painter. She was married Dec. 6, 1942, in Kansas City, to A. Douglas Hunter, who preceded her in death. She was married April 27, 2001, in California, to Lee R. Logsdon, who survives at the home.
She attended North Kansas City High School and worked for TWA in Kansas City. She worked for Capital City Telephone, now Sprint Telephone Company, in Jefferson City, from 1950 until her retirement. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion 40 & 8 Auxiliary. She was a member of the California United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one stepson, William Lee Logsdon, state of Florida; two brothers, James "Jake" Painter, Jefferson City, and Vernon Painter, Newark, N.J.; one sister, Lorene Walburn, Cincinnati, Iowa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. The Rev. Carol Koenig will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens, Jefferson City.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.

STROBEL
Nelda C. Strobel, 81, Jefferson City, died July 3, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born April 15, 1921, in Cole County, a daughter of Henry and Hulda Goldammer Fischer. She was married March 2, 1946, in Lohman, to Oscar Strobel, who died May 7, 1992.
She attended school in Russellville and was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Society, the Alter Guild, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Lutheran Laymans League.
Survivors include: three sons, Howard Strobel, Salem, Ore., Melvin Strobel, Dothan, Ala., and Eugene Strobel, Jefferson City; two daughters, Phyllis Robinson, and Joyce Ittner, both of Jefferson City; three sisters, Norma Liescheidt, Jefferson City, Viola Gordon, Sedalia, and Helen Laughlin, Topeka, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church. The Rev. Tony Alter and the Rev. Alvin Lange will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
SANDBOTHE
Raymond Henry Sandbothe, 73, Taos, died July 4, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Vienna, a son of Herman J. and Mathilda Rose Redel Sandbothe. He was married May 24, 1952, in Taos, to Virginia Rackers, who died Feb. 5, 1996.
He was a 1947 graduate of Vienna High School. He was a civil service technician with the Missouri Army National Guard from 1953 until his retirement in 1988. He held numerous positions in the Missouri National Guard State Headquarters, including administrative assistant to the chief of staff, Missouri Army National Guard. In 1970, he was promoted to staff sergeant major. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army and Missouri Army National Guard for more than 39 years.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church. He was a member of the Taos Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5 and was a lifetime member of the Missouri Army National Guard Association.
Survivors include: three sons, Daniel J. Sandbothe and Dennis J. Sandbothe, both of Taos, and Douglas R. Sandbothe, Wardsville; two daughters, Angela M. Reinkemeyer, and Eileen J. Richter, both of Taos; six brothers, Ambrose G. Sandbothe, Chesterfield, Charles J. Sandbothe, Vienna, Clarence P. Sandbothe, Taos, Louis A. Sandbothe, Rocky Mount, Arnold A. Sandbothe, Lake Ozark, and Eugene G. Sandbothe, Wardsville; two sisters, Rosemary A. Kaskie, Peoria, Ill., and Bernice Smith, Ballwin; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Dave Buescher will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and from 11-11:45 a.m. Saturday, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors in Taos.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or School in Taos.
POECKER
Elsie L. Poecker, 88, California, died July 3, 2002, at California Care Center.
She was born Nov. 11, 1913, near Jamestown, a daughter of Adolph and Elisa Haldiman Grossglauser. She was married March 24, 1940, in Clayton, to Edward P. Poecker, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she was president of McKinley Elementary School PTA and attended California High School. She was a quilter at Calvary United Church of Christ and was past president of the quilting circle. She served as a den mother and assistant Girl Scout leader. She was a member of California United Church of Christ; Womens Guild; Evangelines; and was a past member of California Area Senior Citizens.
Other survivors include: two sons, David E. Poecker, Olathe, Kan., and Paul W. Poecker, St. Charles; one daughter, Karen Joslin, Overland Park, Kan.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One infant son preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at California United Church of Christ. The Rev. Gary Schulte and the Rev. Judith Rinehart-Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in California Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services.

THROCKMORTON
Margaret Marie Throckmorton, 87, Fulton, died July 5, 2002, at Presbyterian Manor, Fulton.
She was born Nov. 4, 1914, in Charleston, Neb., a daughter of Peter and Antonio Marie Kudlacek Marik. She was married March 10, 1934, in West Plains, to Eldo LeRoy Throckmorton Sr., who survives.
She was active in the Missouri Round Dance Association.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Joyce Epperson, Fulton; one son, Eldo LeRoy Throckmorton Jr., Fort Washington , Md.; four grandchildren and eight great-granddaughters.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bruce Williamson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home.

INZUNZA-GARCIA
Services were July 10 for Abelino "Abe" Inzunza-Garcia, 26, Vienna, who died July 3, 2002, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born March 2, 1976, a son of Abundio and Gloria Garcia Inzunza, who survive in Avondale, Ariz.
He worked as a certified nurse's assistant at Maries Manor Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Vienna.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jonathon Manuel Inzunza and Edward Abelino Inzunza, both of Vienna; one brother, Edgardo Inzunza, Avondale; two sisters, Yadira Munoz and Noreyda Inzunza, both of Avondale; paternal grandmother and maternal grandmother, both from the country of Mexico; and his fiancée, Sherry McCoy, Vienna.
Services were in Avondale, Ariz, under the direction of Adobe Chapel Funeral Home, Tolleson, Ariz. Burial was in Louis B. Hazelton Cemetery in Buckeye, Ariz.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
ORSCHELN
Conradine W. Orscheln, 90, Jefferson City, died July 5, 2002, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Dec. 28, 1911, in Loose Creek, a daughter of Matthias and Magdalene Schmitz Muenks. She was married May 25, 1932, in Loose Creek, to Charles P. Orscheln, who survives in Jefferson City.
She attended Immaculate Conception School, Loose Creek. A homemaker, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jefferson City; the Catholic Knights of America; and the Ladies Sodality.
Other survivors include: two sons, Herbert H. Orscheln, Linn, and Ralph H. Orscheln, Holts Summit; one daughter, Sister Bernice C. Orscheln, Jefferson City; one brother: Herman H. Muenks, Linn; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
One son, Edmund Orscheln, died Aug. 12, 1933, one granddaughter died in 1969 and one grandson died in 1988.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Loose Creek. Fr. Greg Meystrik will officiate. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, Loose Creek.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
SOMMERS
Vincent Richard Sommers, 89, Wardsville, died July 5, 2002, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
He was born March 2, 1913, in Osage Bend, a son of Joseph and Rose Braun Sommers. He was married Sept. 1, 1937, in Loose Creek, to Mathilda Josephine Haslag, who survives at the home.
He worked as a mechanic with U.S. Rents It and in carpentry, contracting, sawmill operations, rock and brick laying and farming. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville.
Other survivors include: two sons, Edward C. Sommers, St. Thomas, and Gary W. Sommers, Jefferson City; three daughters, Rose Mary Schaefer, Florissant, Elizabeth A. "Betty" Ginter, Wardsville, and Joanne H. Falter, Westphalia; two sisters, Frances Van Loo, Wardsville, and Augusta Rackers, Holts Summit; one brother, Alfred Sommers, Fulton; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
One son, Richard J. Sommers, and one grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The Rev. Louis E. Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Wardsville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church.

WILLIAMS
Nellie Beatrice Williams, 89, Versailles, died July 5, 2002, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born April 22, 1913, in Versailles, a daughter of Hugh C. and Nellie Moore Barbour. She was married May 8, 1932, to Jean N. Williams, who died Sept. 8, 1975.
She worked for Kansas City Bifocal, Versailles. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Versailles.
Survivors include: two sons, Harvey J. Williams and Larry O. Williams, both of Versailles; two daughters, Lottie Lee Scott and Nellie B. Gates, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Roy Bennett will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
