REED

Helen A. Reed, 90, Linn, died July 9, 2002, at Green Meadows Skilled Care, Linn.

She was born Dec. 21, 1911, in Osage County, a daughter of Frank X. and Cora Coulter Knoerr. She was married to Morris Reed, who preceded her in death.

She worked at St. Peter's rectory in  Jefferson City until her retirement. She was a member of St. George Church and St. Ann's Sodality.

Survivors include: two brothers, John Knoerr and Wilbur Knoerr, both of Linn; four sisters, Catherine Balkenbush and Marie Thompson, both of Linn, Laurine Stewart, Cincinnati, and Dorothy Nilges, Bourbon.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. George Church. The Rev. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Morton Funeral Home in Linn, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. George Activity Center or a charity of the donor's choice.

BUNCH

Services were Monday for Michael L. Bunch, 50, Charlton, N.Y., formerly of  Jefferson City, who died July 3, 2002.

He was born Nov. 7, 1951, in  Jefferson City, a son of Martin and Helen Holmes Bunch. His father survives in  Jefferson City. He was married May 27, 1978, to Mary P. Mika, who survives.

He graduated from  Jefferson City High School. He received a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a master's degree from Union College. He worked at KAPL in Niskayuna for 27 years, most recently as manager of the plant testing technology group. He was an instructor for 26 years at John Izzo's Okinawan Karate School and was a sixth-degree black belt. He was a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Adirondack 46er and the Winter 46er groups. He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include: one son, Matthew Bunch, Charlton; and one brother, Gary Bunch, Lohman.

Services were at Our Lady of Grace Church. The Rev. Tony Diacetes officiated. Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery in East Glenville, N.Y.

Memorials are suggested to the North Warren Emergency Squad, c/o the funeral home, 9 Glenridge Road, East Glenville, N.Y.

Arrangements were under the direction of Glenville Funeral Home, East Glenville, N.Y.

HAWKINS

Daniel Alan Hawkins, 14,  Jefferson City, died July 9, 2002, in an automobile accident.

He was born April 22, 1988, in  Jefferson City, a son of Alan E. and Brenda Kay Hawkins, who survive in  Jefferson City.

He was a student at Cole R-5 School, Eugene, and was on the Cole R-5 junior high basketball team. He played baseball with the Brazito Lions Club for nine years. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in  Jefferson City.

Other survivors include: three brothers, Ryan Daniel Emmerich, Henley, Jacob Chancelor,  Jefferson City, and Robert A. Poe, Eldon; three sisters, Clarissa Kay Hawkins,  Jefferson City, Rachel Dawn Emmerich, Henley, and Ashley Lynn Emmerich, San Antonio, Texas ; paternal grandmother, Minnie Kate Hawkins, Shelbina; maternal grandfather, Robert E. Poe,  Jefferson City; and maternal grandmother, Clara M. Johns, Carthage.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church,  Jefferson City. The Rev. Alan Spears and the Rev. James Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Henley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home in Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to the Cole R-5 Athletic Booster Club, in care of Cole R-5 School, Eugene, Mo.

HODGES-MARRIOTT

Erma L. Hodges-Marriott, 74, Versailles, died July 10, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Barnett, a daughter of Edgar and Opal Dean Dutcher Hodges. She was married Jan. 27, 1963, to C.L. Bartlett, who died Oct. 24, 1978. She was married Sept. 11, 1988, in Stover, to Malcolm "Mac" Marriott, who died March 16, 2002.

A 1945 graduate of Stover High School, she co-owned and operated the White House Beauty Shop in Versailles for many years. She owned and operated Laurie Office and Supply in Laurie and was a Lady Finelle cosmetics representative. She worked at the Versailles Wal-Mart as a greeter. She was an organizer of ABWA Ozark Paradise Chapter in Laurie, serving as the first president from 1979-1980. She was a member of the ABWA Visionaries Chapter in Versailles. She was a member of the Junior Sorosis Club in Versailles, serving as president from 1996-1998. She served as treasurer of the Versailles Nutrition Site. She was a member of the Versailles Chapter 410 Order of the Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron of the Barnett and Versailles chapters. She was district deputy grand matron in 1989 and grand warder of the 1994 grand family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Versailles.

Survivors include one brother, Dean Hodges, Stover.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Versailles. The Rev. Jeanie Leeper will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Versailles Nutrition Site or a charity of the donor's choice.

PARSONS

A. Jacquline "Jacque" Parsons, 69,  Jefferson City, died July 10, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 3, 1933, in Bloodlin, a daughter of George W. and Bessie Francis Moses. She was married Jan. 1, 1955, in Mendota, Ill., to Carlos V. Parsons, who died Jan. 18, 1979.

She graduated from Lesterville High School. She worked for Homemaker Healthcare, Inc. and was a private duty nurse. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion. She was a Marine Corps veteran.

Survivors include: five sons, Carl Parsons, Taos, Patrick Parsons, Lincolnton, N.C., and Tammy Parsons, Barry Parsons and Douglas Parsons, all of  Jefferson City; one daughter, Colleen Fletcher, Fulton; one brother, Charles Moses,  Jefferson City; five sisters, Ruby Krohn, Boulder City, Nev., and Lena Branson, Donna Montgomery, Sue Kliethermes, and Sallie Jacobs, all of  Jefferson City; and 14 grandchildren.

One grandchild preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Gary Baker will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Friendship House of the Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid Missouri.

UPTON

Gladys E. Upton, 83,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 13, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Cadet Creek Cemetery near Bonnots Mill. The Rev. Arnold Bickel will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

JACQUIN

Julietta B. Jacquin, 81, Linn, died July 10, 2002, at Green Meadows Skilled Care, Linn.

She was born May 23, 1921, in Osage County, a daughter of Michael J. and Rosie Voss Boes. She was married May 1, 1946, in Linn, to Glenn Jacquin, who died Nov. 20, 2001.

A lifelong resident of Osage County, she graduated from Linn High School in 1939. She was a member of St. George Church; St. Ann's Sodality; VFW Ladies Auxiliary; Western-Catholic Union; Catholic Knights of America; and board of regents at St. Marys Health Center.

A homemaker, she worked with A.S.C.S. for 25 years until her retirement in 1975.

Survivors include: three daughters, Sherry Jacquin, Springfield, Charlotte Schnieders, Manassas, Va., and Carolyn Hurley, Paragould, Ark.; two sisters, Janet Vossen and Rose Anderson, both of Linn; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. George Church, Linn. The Rev. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be in St. George Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. Visitation also will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. George Church, Linn Senior Center or the Alzheimers Association.

DORSEY

Robert Gene "Bob" Dorsey, 69, Arcadia, Mich., died July 8, 2002, at West Shore Medical Center, Manistee, Mich.

He was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Hoisington, Kan., a son of Paul R. and Vivian Barbara Kennedy Dorsey. He was married May 16, 1998, in  Jefferson City, to Georgia J. Hildebrand Patton, who survives at the home.

He graduated from high school in Gardner, Kan., in 1951. He graduated in 1962 from Kansas State College of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's of science degree. He worked for Ford Motor Company and retired from Prudential Life Insurance Company, where he worked in sales. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Manistee. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Other survivors include: four sons, David Dorsey and Bobby Dorsey, both of Detroit, L.C. Patton, Independence, and Guy Patton,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Kimberly Dorsey, Australia, and Janice M. Lupkey,  Jefferson City; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Deacon Larry Hildebrand will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

DANFORTH

Louis Danforth Jr., 70, Vienna, died July 7, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born April 1, 1932, in Indianapolis, a son of Louis Jr. and Adah Wilkinson Danforth. He was married April 2, 1977, in Bridgeton, to Judy Enke, who survives in Vienna.

He was employed as a restaurant worker.

Other survivors include: one brother, Douglas Danforth, St. Louis; and one sister, Carol Mihalevich, Lee's Summit.

The remains were cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
