SAPP

Stanley Guy Sapp, 67, Centertown, died July 24, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 28, 1934, in Cole County, a son of James G. and Velma Vesta Knife Sapp. His mother survives in St. Martins. He was married April 18, 1954, in Jamestown, to Charlotte "Chinky" Pettigrew, who survives at the home.

He was a 1953 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended  Jefferson City Junior College.

He was self-employed in the trucking industry. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Jamestown. He was a member of the  Jefferson City Jays Boys basketball booster club. He was active in coaching boys basketball and girls softball. He was an Air Force veteran.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Rhonda "Shelly" Mantle,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Jean Klatt, St. Martins, and Carol L. Porter,  Jefferson City; and one grandson.

One son, Stanley Wayne Sapp, died March 15, 1955.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors,  Jefferson City. The Rev. Jerry Moon, the Rev. Chester Marshall and the Rev. Rick Conley will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery, Jamestown.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday.

WRIGHT

Robert Maynard Wright Sr., 72, Kingdom City, died July 24, 2002, at Callaway Community Hospital.

He was born Oct. 14, 1929, a son of Maynard E. and Vola R. Heflin Wright.

He owned and operated Wright's Grocery and Gas of Kingdom City. He was a member of Midland Baptist Church.

Survivors include: three sons, Ronald Earl Wright, Llano, Texas , Donald Harold Wright, New Albany, Miss. and Robert L. Wright, state of Mississippi; three daughters, Marilyn Jean Kaskus, Fulton, Andrea Renee Taylor, Mokane, and Marilyn Ann Shuck, Moses Lake, Wash.; three brothers, Jack Wright, Mt. Pleasant, Miss., Charles Wright, Tupelo, Miss., and David Wright, Milford, Conn.; one sister, Wilana Blythe, Tupelo; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

One son, Robert Maynard Wright Jr., preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Larry Paris will officiate. Burial will be in Richland Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

BOYD

William B. "Bill" Boyd, 80, Fulton, died July 26, 2002, at Callaway Community Hospital.

He was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Jasper County, a son of Clyde R. and Christina L. Maxwell Boyd. He was married Aug. 21, 1946, to Mary Lee Muir, who survives.

A 1940 graduate of Fulton High School, he graduated from Westminster College in 1947. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

He owned the Boyd & Boyd land title plant in Fulton since 1958. He held offices in the Missouri Land Title Association and American Land Title Association.

He also served as president of the Kiwanis Club, Fulton Band Boosters, Kingdom Historical Society and United Way. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, 40 and 8, Marine Corps League and Masonic Lodge. He served on the Chamber of Commerce Board, on Boy Scout committees and coached in the Midget Baseball League.

He was a member of the Methodist Church, serving on the board of trustees and singing in the choir. He served three years on the Fulton School Board. He served two terms as public administrator of Callaway County and one term in Audrain County.

Other survivors include: two sons, William Boyd and Jack Boyd, both of Fulton; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Court Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.

Memorials are suggested to the YMCA or a charity of the donor's choice.

STEWART

Winona G. Stewart, 75, Kansas City, died July 24, 2002, at her home.

She was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Dawn, a daughter of Everett V. and Martha Olwen Evans Griffith. She was married to Richard C. Stewart, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Dawn High School in 1944 and from Research Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at North Kansas City Hospital until her retirement in 1988. She was a pledge of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp. She was a member of Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church. She volunteered for the Block Cancer Foundation, delivered Meals on Wheels and was a Scout leader.

Survivors include: two sons, Andrew Stewart, Weston, and Gregory Stewart, Smithville; two daughters, Shari Rhoades, Camdenton, and Donna Covell, Olathe, Kan.; one brother, Leland Griffith; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Pine Ridge United Presbyterian Church in Kansas City. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home in Kansas City.

Memorials are suggested to Platte Senior Services.

SMITH

Mary Jane Smith, 78, Macks Creek, died July 25, 2002, in St. Louis.

She was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Macks Creek, a daughter of Orville P. and Zelphia Ruth Bonner Hack. She was married Sept. 26, 1944, in Springfield, to Russell Francis Smith, who survive at the home.

She retired from Sears after 25 years and was a sewing instructor. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star, both in Macks Creek.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Margaret Theresa Manhardt, Pinehurst, N.C., and Mary Frances Dreste, St. Louis, and Ruth Agnes May, Sanford, N.C.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Macks Creek. The Rev. David Stephenson will officiate. Burial will be in Macks Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice, 9890 Clayton Rd., Suite 220, St. Louis, MO 63124, Attn: Ann Meyer-Richards.

FOOTE

Jack Foote, 77, Lebanon, died May 26, 2002, in Springfield.

He was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Eldon, a son of Clarence and Lula Jackson Foote. He was married Feb. 20, 1988, to Margaret Weeks Wright Foote, who survives at the home.

He was a real estate agent.

Survivors include: two sons, John Foote, Florence, and Donald Foote, Alhambra, Calif.; three daughters, Laura Robb, Lebanon, Margie Rife, Fowler, Ill., and Marsha Metzner, Sedalia; two stepsons, Dan Wright, Columbia, and John Wright, Springfield; two stepdaughters, Susan Allen, Lebanon, and Jane Owen, Long Lane; one brother, Charles Foote, Cincinnati; one sister, Norma Jean Perry, Monument, Colo.; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Eldon City Cemetery. The Rev. Walter D. Simpson will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.

SCHRECK

James John "Jim" Schreck, 85, Tipton, died July 26, 2002, at Tipton Manor.

He was born April 26, 1917, in Sedalia. He was married Oct. 25, 1941, in Keytesville, to Sudie Ruth Albin, who died Oct. 18, 2001.

He was a resident of the Tipton area for most of his life. He owned and operated a farm. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. He was a member of Moose Lodge in Sedalia, Eagles Lodge in California and the Fortuna Area Senior Citizens.

Survivors include: six sons, Bill Schreck, Clarksburg, Bob Schreck, Kennerdell, Pa., Dick Schreck, Corydon, Ind., Larry Schreck, Boonville, Ron Schreck, Fortuna, and Arnie Schreck, Tipton; five daughters, Sharon Fulton and Dolores Holdren, both of Tipton, Lois Rowles, Syracuse, Mary Hodler, Columbia, Judy Young, Otterville; three brothers, Ben Schreck, Ted Schreck and Monte Schreck, all of Vidor, Texas ; three sisters, Ruth Smith, state of Florida, Rosemary Gitney, Wilmington, Del., and Charlotte Blaschke, Vidor; 31 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton. Fr. David Veit will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Fortuna Senior Citizens or St. Andrew's Catholic Church.

WORLEY

Raeferd John "Ray" Worley, 72,  Jefferson City, died July 25, 2002, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

He was born June 1, 1930, in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Clayton and Dorothy Beliel Worley. He was married July 28, 1950, at Chicago Heights, Ill., to Marjorie Ann Peach, who died July 28, 1995. He was married May 2, 1998, in  Jefferson City to Dolly May Whitley-Deppe, who died July 2, 2000.

He had attended the Walnut School at Fairfield, Iowa. He had served with the United States Air Force from July 16, 1947, until July 17, 1950. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post #5, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post #1003. He had been employed as an apartment manager, maintenance supervisor and heavy equipment operator. He also worked at the Flintcoat Roofing Material Company and at the Allis Chamber Implement Co. in Chicago Heights, Ill. He had been the owner-operator of the Worley Asphalt and Paving Company, and then was self-employed as the owner/operator of the Worley Home & Lawn Maintenance Company.

Survivors include three sons, David G. Worley, Bonnots Mill, Raymond J. Worley, Estacada, Ore., and Edward Lynn Worley,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Jacqueline Christiansen, Tacoma, Wash., and Suzanne Littrell,  Jefferson City; four brothers, Lester Worley, Washington , Iowa, Kenneth Worley, Burlington, Iowa, James Worley, Iowa City, Iowa, and Verle Worley, Washington , Iowa; one sister, Doris Minort, Fairfield, Iowa; and 16 grandchildren.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at St. Peters Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Lammers officiating. Burial will follow in Longview Cemetery, with graveside military honors.

Memorials are suggested to the Raeferd Worley Memorial Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.

VOLKART

Erdella June Volkart, 79,  Jefferson City, died July 26, 2002, at Oak View Skilled Care Center.

She was born June 10, 1923, in Fessenden, N.D., a daughter of Christian and Lydia Pepple Rudel. She was married April 14, 1948, in Chamois, to Oscar F. White , who died in 1973. She was married Nov. 22, 1974, in Chamois, to Jewell R. Volkart, who died in 1988.

She was a graduate of Fessenden High School in Fessenden and a graduate of Minot State Teachers College in Minot, N.D., where she earned her bachelor of science in education.

She was a teacher for 25 years. She was co-owner of A+ Educational Materials from 1990-1996. She was formerly active in the Chamois United Methodist Women's Organization; the American Legion Auxiliary; and the Chamois United Methodist Church Choir.

Survivors include: one son, Samuel White , Lake of the Ozarks; one daughter, Tammy Nilges,  Jefferson City; one sister, Eva Dittus, Harvey, N.D.; one brother, Glen Rudel, Phoenix; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Chamois United Methodist Church. The Rev. Deborah Pope will officiate. Burial will be in Chamois City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Chamois.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Chamois United Methodist Church.
