NIERMEYER
Andrew N. Niermeyer, 84, Jefferson City, died Dec. 30, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born
Aug. 13, 1915, near Otterville, a son of William E. and Maggie Watring Niermeyer. He was married
March 24, 1943, in Sedalia, to Mariana Hotsenpiller, who died Aug. 28, 1985.
A World War II veteran, he worked in sales for Tiger Laundry, Columbia, until his retirement. He was a member of Sedalia VFW.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kathy Graf, Jefferson City; four sons, Mike Niermeyer, Otterville, and Jim Niermeyer, Bill Niermeyer and Scott Niermeyer, all of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Conn Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. J.D. Cooper and the Rev. Farrie Cole will officiate. Burial will be in Otterville I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to Jefferson City Residential Care Center.
WOLKEN
Myrina Helen Wolken, 86, Jefferson City, died Dec. 29, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born
May 16, 1913, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Joseph and Emma Rackers Stegeman. She was married
Sept. 22, 1937, in Taos, to Hubert John Wolken, who survives at the home.
She was employed as a clerk with the Missouri Department of Revenue. She also was a sales clerk with J.C. Penney Company and Herman's Department Store, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of and a volunteer with Immaculate Conception Church, St. Ann Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary and Legion of Mary Auxiliary.
Other survivors include: one son, Ron Wolken, Jefferson City; three daughters, JoAnn Wilson, Jefferson City, Betty Snoddy, Boonville, Donna Weiner, Overland Park, Kan.; one brother, Robert Stegeman, Jefferson City; two sisters, Gladys Becker, St. Louis, and Anna Mae McDowell, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Gregory L. Higley will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Capital Improvement Campaign; the Helias Foundation; the Samaritan Center; or the American Heart Association.
MERRY
Easter Merry, 92, Fulton, died Dec. 30, 1999, at Callaway Community Hospital.
She was born
March 31, 1907, in Tebbetts, a daughter of Arnold and Olivia Reifsteck Burre. She was married
June 1, 1935, in St. Louis, to John Merry, who died April 13, 1972.
A seamstress, she had lived in Monett. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Monett, and Monett Senior Center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Monett City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
Memorials are suggested to the Monett Senior Center.
HUGHES
Ellis Hughes, 79, Rocky Mount, died Dec. 29, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born
April 8, 1920, in Greenville, a son of John L. and Edna McBroom Hughes. He was married
July 6, 1968, in Versailles, to Maxine Hicks, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a truck driver for Midland Container.
Other survivors include: two sons, Richard Hughes and Dale Hughes, both of St. Louis; two stepdaughters, Brenda Adams, Hermann, and Joyce Makings, Kansas City; one brother, John Hughes, Lake Ozark; one sister, Norma Zaleski, Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, one step granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Memorials are suggested to Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.
