TAYLOR

Olivia Maurine Taylor, 100, Eldon, died Aug. 21, 2002, at her home.

She was born Nov. 10, 1901, near Barnett, a daughter of William M. and Lura Boan Greenway. She was married Nov. 1, 1923, in California, to Bailey Otto Taylor, who died Nov. 23, 1989.

She graduated from Eldon High School and attended Central Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg. She later taught in Ohio and the Prairie Grove School in the Barnett area. She was a member of the Eldon First Christian Church, and the Happy Hour and Farmer's Wives Clubs.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

One infant son died April 27, 1938.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Shirley Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the Eldon First Christian Church Building Fund.

EDDY

Albert W. Eddy, 70, Marshfield, died Aug. 22, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 1, 1932, in Galt, Iowa, a son of James H. and Edith Rummens Eddy. He was married June 11, 1955, in Stover, to Inez Marie Kreglinger, who survives at the home.

He was a 1951 graduate of Stover High School. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served in the standby reserves until 1961.

He worked for the Missouri Conservation Commission as a towerman. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla in 1960. He worked for Wagner Electric and Sachs Electric, both in St. Louis; Bull Moose Tube Company, Gerald; Independence Stave Company, Lebanon; and retired in 1995 from Roper Electric, Springfield.

He was ordained a deacon and was a member of Faith Southern Baptist Church, Marshfield.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Jeanne Freeman, Marshfield; two sons, Duane Eddy and Daren Eddy, both of Marshfield; one sister, Grace Walters, Versailles; one brother, James Eddy, Gravois Mills; and three granddaughters.

One son, Jonathan Eddy, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Faith Baptist Church, Marshfield. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Stover Cemetery, Stover.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, and from noon-2 p.m. Monday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.

Memorials are suggested to Marshfield Fire Department or the Webster County Baptist Association.

GAUL

Opal M. Gaul, 77, Warrensburg, died Aug. 20, 2002, at Country Club Nursing Home, Warrensburg.

She was born July 15, 1925, in Versailles, a daughter of George and Cora Ann Burns Roberts. She was married to Roy Gaul, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and lived in Warrensburg for 27 years.

Survivors include: one son, Dwain Gaul, Paige, Texas ; one brother, Robert Roberts, Independence; one sister, Sylvia Komm, Lincoln; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Two sons preceded her in death: Ronald Eugene Gaul, in December 1968, and Clarence Leroy Gaul, in September 2001. One great-grandson died in March 2002.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles.

JOHNSON

Terrence Lee Johnson, 54, Branson, died Aug. 22, 2002, at St. Louis University Hospital.

He was born Aug. 15, 1948, in  Jefferson City, a son of Floyd and Nina McNeal Johnson. His father survives in  Jefferson City. He was married Dec. 27, 1987, in  Jefferson City, to Karen Brown, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of  Jefferson City High School and Lincoln University. He served in the Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He worked as an accountant and manager in the hotel industry. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Korean Veterans, Veteran's Task Force, Branson Leadership Community and the Humane Society.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Tausha Bryan,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Ann Colter,  Jefferson City, and Norma May, Naples, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson. The Rev. Jim Cariker will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.

STROWMATT

Norma Clarice Strowmatt, 73, Versailles, died Aug. 23, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 3, 1929, in St. Louis, a daughter of Von R. and Eula Gertrude Abernathie. She was married to Anthony J. Regguinti, who died March 2, 1952.

She was a laboratory technician at the Gunn Clinic for 20 years. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Versailles.

Survivors include: one daughter, Cindy Davenport, Versailles; one son, Craig Strowmatt, of the home; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

One son, Anthony Joseph Regguinti Jr., died Aug. 18, 1965, and one grandson died June 23, 1985.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Versailles Cemetery, Versailles.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles.

Memorials are suggested to the Animal Orphanage, Inc. of Versailles.

SCHEPKER

Ronald Lee Schepker, 44, St. Peters, died Aug. 22, 2002, at Depaul Hospital, St. Louis.

He was born May 1, 1958, in St. Louis, a son of Leroy M. and Dorothy Ann Renaud Schepker. Both parents survive in St. Peters. He was married June 7, 1980, to Cynthia Louis Merlenbach, who survives.

He attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel and DeAndres Catholic schools. He attended the University of Missouri-Rolla and was a graduate of Ranken Technical College with a degree in HV AC/refrigeration. He worked for the National/Schnucks Groceries for 25 years.

He was member of All Saints Catholic Church, St. Peters.

Other survivors include: three brothers, William M. Schepker, Wentzville, Larry A. Schepker,  Jefferson City, and Joseph P. Schepker, Rolla; and two sisters, Constant S. Schepker, St. Peters, and Cynthia A. Smith, St. Peters.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Stygar Mid Rivers Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, St. Peters. Burial will be in St. Charles Memorial Gardens, St. Charles.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the masses at the church of the donor's choice.

WANKUM

Charles John Wankum, 70, Meta, died Aug. 21, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 23, 1931, in St. Thomas, a son of Otto and Barbara Marie Rackers Wankum. He was married Oct. 22, 1955, in  Jefferson City, to Helen Marie Schroeder, who survives at the home.

He worked for DeLong's in  Jefferson City for 42 years, until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Meta and the Argyle VFW Post 8045. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include: four sons, Charles "Chuck" Wankum Jr., St. Elizabeth, and Allen Wankum, Danny Wankum and Jerome Wankum, all of Meta; three daughters, Barbara Scheulen, St. Elizabeth, Mary Kay Frazier and Carol Verhoff, both of Meta; one brother, Otto Wankum Jr., Meta; two sisters, Marie Hoeller, Koeltztown, and Lorene Lattine, Kansas City; 17 grandchildren and two great-granddaughers.

One infant son preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Cecilia Church. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.

HUMPHREY

Carl Merritt Humphrey, 89,  Jefferson City, died Aug. 22, 2002, at Capital Healthcare Center.

He was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Maysville, a son of Burt and Alpha Merritt Humphrey. He was married June 25, 1935, in Fayette, to Margaret Todd, who died March 4, 2000.

He was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, with a bachelors of science degree in agriculture and a master's degree in education. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity, the Alpha Zeta fraternity and the Gamma Sigma Delta fraternity. He received the Faculty Alumni Award and the Award of Merit from the University of Missouri.

He taught vocational agriculture in Adrian and Odessa and served as director of vocational agriculture education in the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for 30 years before his retirement in 1978. He was a member and past president of the Cole County Area Retired Teachers Association. He was a former member of the Red Cross Board and the Cole County Area Red Cross. He was a member of the American Vocational Association. He was past president of the  Jefferson City Kiwanis Club and past lieutenant governor of the Eleventh District of the  Jefferson City Kiwanis Club. He was one of 500 people honored in 1990 for outstanding contribution to the industry of agriculture by the national FFA, where his picture hangs in the Alexandria, Va., Hall of Achievement. He was also a member of the FFA Alumni Association.

Survivors include: one son, William Todd Humphrey, Estes Park, Colo.; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by one son, Earnest Carl Humphrey on Dec. 23, 2000.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors --  Jefferson City Chapel and from 1-2 p.m. at First Christian Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Dr. Lawrence Veatch will officiate. Burial will follow in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Mid-Missouri Alzheimer's Association, 2420 Hyde Park Rd.,  Jefferson City, 65109.
