PARRACK
Billy G. Parrack, 69, Macks Creek, died Sept. 6, 2002, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
He was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Macks Creek, a son of Alfred M. and Ollie J. Lynch Parrack. He was married March 11, 1961, in Macks Creek, to Mariann Scott, who survives at the home.
A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a farmer, carpenter and member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Macks Creek.
Other survivors include: one son, Michael Parrack, Macks Creek; one daughter, Alisa Breedlove, Waynesville; one brother, Bert Parrack, Tunas; one sister, Erma Hicks, Urbana; four grandchildren, one step grandchild and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Revs. Dean Rooffener and Tommy Parrack will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
SWEET
Services were Tuesday at Elliot-Gentry Funeral Home, Cabool, for Lloyd O. Sweet, 71, formerly of Vienna, who died Aug. 30, 2002.
He was born Feb. 14, 1931, near Cabool, a son of Forrest and May Sweet. He was married Dec. 22, 1954, to Doris Campbell, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he attended school in Cabool. He worked as a mechanic and operated a service station near Vienna. He served as a police officer, fire marshal and was the mayor of Norfork, Ark., when he retired. He attended Galatia Assembly of God Church in Arkansas.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Thelma Gilpin, Lohman, and Rita Dover and Teresa Baumgardner, both of Mountain Home, Ark.; four sons, Lloyd E. Sweet and Gary Sweet, both of Vienna, Ronald Sweet, Mountain Home, and Roger Sweet, Norfork; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded him in death.
The Rev. Tom Fortner officiated. Burial with military honors was in Cabool Cemetery.
DIETZEL
Paul T. Dietzel, 81, California, died Sept. 7, 2002, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
He was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Jamestown, a son of John And Barbara Schull Dietzel. He was married Jan. 11, 1957, to Eola Schilb, who survives at the home.
He attended Fairview School and was a retired farmer. A former Jamestown resident, he was an Army veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include four brothers, Charles Dietzel, Everett Dietzel, Alvin Dietzel, all of Jamestown, and Earl Dietzel, Columbia, and one sister, Rose Wyckoff, Jamestown.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home., California. Don Smith and Leslie Olson will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the World War II Memorial Fund.
GOFF
Adeline B. Goff, 86, Clovis, Calif., formerly of Jefferson City, died Sept. 6, 2002, at Community Living Center, Fresno, Calif.
She was born May 22, 1916, in Spring Garden, a daughter of Oscar and Burie Henley Blackburn. She was married in 1935, in Jefferson City, to William Cardwell, who preceded her in death. She was married Sept. 29, 1947, in St. Louis, to Mahlon P. Goff, who died Sept. 29, 1986.
She was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was a homemaker and worked for J.C. Penny's Store for 40 years until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Bob L. Cardwell, Clovis, Calif., and one grandson.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Riverview Cemetery. The Rev. Jerrol L. Boehmer will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
GLENN
Robert Lee "Bob" Glenn, 58, Lake Ozark, died Sept. 6, 2002, at Lake of the Ozarks Retirement Center, Lake Ozark.
He was born May 9, 1944, in Litchfield, Minn., a son of Lee and Aleta Cunningham Glenn. His mother survives in Winterset, Iowa. He was married July 9, 1966, in Dallas County, Iowa, to Linda Paul, who survives in Lake Ozark.
He worked as a tool and die maker, a construction manager and a supervisor in erecting bridges and mall projects. He owned and managed motels in Iowa and Missouri including the Tomahawk Inn in Lake Ozark.
Survivors include: two sons, Douglas Glenn, Ankey, Iowa, and Brian Glenn, Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Ronnie Glenn, Sunrise Beach, and Charles Glenn, state of Hawaii.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church, Dallas Center, Iowa.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
GUNN
Paul D. Gunn, 84, Versailles, died Sept. 7, 2002, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
He was born Jan. 12, 1918, near Barnett, a son of Halcyon D. and Daisy Jones Gunn. He was married Aug. 20, 1949, in Versailles, to Elizabeth F. Williams, who survives at the home.
He was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Versailles. He was a member of American Legion Post 104 in Versailles, a life member of VFW Post 5902 in Gravois Mills and a member of Morgan County Historical Society. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include: one son, Ralph L. Gunn, Versailles; one daughter, Lynne G. Keesling, Wichita, Kan.; one brother, Roscoe Gunn, Romney, W.Va.; two sisters, Nancy Satter, Clear Lake, Iowa, and Ethel Kelsay, California; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in Versailles or Versailles Nutrition Site Building Fund.
JAMES
Pauline Mae James, 76, Gravois Mills, died Sept. 7, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born May 23, 1926, in Lamar, Ark., a daughter of Clarence L. and Olga Cowell Fetters. She was married to Coyle E. James, who died March 18, 2002.
Survivors include: two sons, Paul James, Kansas City, and Coyle James Jr., De Soto, Kan.; three daughters, Joann Cole, Hartman, Ark., Kathryn Maciel, Kansas City, and Jeanne James, Gravois Mills; one brother; two sisters; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in Arkansas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
GAUCK
Gloria A. Gauck, 56, Lohman, died Sept. 7, 2002, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Sept. 19, 1945, in Chicago, a daughter of Albert and June Julian Fahrenkrog. She was married Feb. 21, 1971, in South Holland, Ill., to the Rev. Carl Gauck, who survives at the home.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University in De Kalb, Ill.. She received her master's degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago and her MBA from Northern Illinois University. She worked for the Illinois Department of Mental Health as a psychologist. She worked for the Missouri Department of Mental Health and for Advent Enterprises, Inc. as a vocational evaluator. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lohman.
Other survivors include: two sons, Kenneth Gauck and Matthew Gauck, both of Springfield; one daughter, Karen Gauck, Springfield; one sister, Grace Hays, Auburn, Kan.; and two granddaughters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Bishop Gerald Mansholt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
SURFACE
Thomas L. Surface, 59, Holts Summit, died Sept. 7, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born April 9, 1943, in Jefferson City, a son of Carney and Esther Pirner Surface. He was married Oct. 29, 1966, in Jefferson City, to Jacqueline "Jackie" Willmeno, who survives at the home.
He was area supervisor for BG Maintenance in Jefferson City, where he worked for 26 years. He worked for Farmer's Concrete as a truck driver, for Von Hoffmann Press and North School in Holts Summit as custodian. He attended schools in Jefferson City.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Beverly Lamb, Tebbetts, and Laurie Arnold, Holts Summit; three brothers, Carney Surface Jr., Holts Summit, and Robert Surface and Ronald Surface, both of Jefferson City; and four granddaughters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors in Jefferson City. The Rev. Lowell Perkins will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
