HUNTER

Mary H. Hunter, 83, Overland Park, Kan., died Sept. 14, 2002, at Menorah Medical Center.

She was born near Sedalia, a daughter of Lon and Anne Hill. She was married to KP Hunter, who survives.

She attended Houstonia High School and business college. She worked as a secretary for International Harvesters. She was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church where she was active in volunteer work and was on the board of trustees for nine years.

Survivors include: two sisters, Hazel Peterson, Wilton, Conn., and Lucille Bardolie, Versailles.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Broadway United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Broadway United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Amos Family Chapel, Shawnee, Kan.

HUNTINGTON

Joe Ben Huntington, 72, Raytown, died Sept. 14, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City.

He was married to Bonnie Huntington, who survives at the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Brenda Curtis; two brothers, George Huntington and Tom Huntington; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in Versailles Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

LINSENBARDT

Rupert Theodore "Barb" Linsenbardt, 82, Lohman, died Sept. 14, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born July 4, 1920, in Lohman, a son of Gustav F. and Flora J. Fluegel Linsenbardt. He was married Feb. 17, 1946, in Lohman to Corine Linhardt, who survives at the home.

He was a 1940 graduate of  Jefferson City High School. He was enrolled in a vocational education program while attending school and worked for Jeff City Novelty Company, later known as Bryan Electric Co. He worked at Curtiss-Wright Aircraft in St. Louis until 1941. He taught at the Aircraft Sheet Metal School in  Jefferson City as part of the state vocational education program. In 1942 he entered Civil Service training in Chicago and upon completion he taught aircraft maintenance at the U.S. Naval School in Millington, Tenn. He worked for A.E. Fischer Sign Company in  Jefferson City and for G & H Electric. He worked for Richard Howerton Electric until his retirement in 1985. He worked on a part-time basis after his retirement for Bee-Seen Signs. He was a farmer and owned and operated a saw mill.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman. He was a member of the CBI Veterans Association, the Hump Pilots Association, the Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post 5 and the Roy Sone VFW Post 103 in  Jefferson City. He was a 55-year member of the IBEW Local 257. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: two sons, Thomas Linsenbardt, Lohman, and James Linsenbardt, Columbia; two daughters, Elizabeth Honse, Vienna, and Diane Kalaf, Lohman; two brothers, Albin Linsenbardt, Lohman, and Aldo Linsenbardt, Baltimore; two sisters, Nelda Bubach, Lohman, and Olivia Linhardt, Russellville; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

One grandson and one step granddaughter preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lohman. The Rev. Carl Gauck will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

SHELTON

Alberta Ellen Shelton, 91,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 14, 2002, in  Jefferson City.

She was born Nov. 7, 1910, in Bourbon, a daughter of James and Celia Vaughn Downes. She was married March 1, 1933, in Edwardsville, Ill., to Dr. Edward Olney Shelton, who died Jan. 18, 1982.

A former resident of Eldon, she attended Owensville High School. She graduated in 1931 from St. Louis University School of Nursing, St. John's Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldon. She was a 50-year member of Chapter CH of the PEO Sisterhood in Eldon. She was a former member of Euterpean Club and Niangua Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include: one son, David Shelton, St. James; one daughter, Cathy Rutledge,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Lola Sassman and Eva Hensley, both of Owensville; five grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Bob Buster will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Eldon Building Fund.

BRAMMELL

Goldie M. Brammell, 86, Springfield, formerly of Fulton, died Sept. 16, 2002, at Doctor's Hospital, Springfield.

She was born May 4, 1916, in Fulton, a daughter of George and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Holmes Wilfley. She was married Oct. 4, 1975, to Charles Brammell, who died May 16, 1995.

She worked in the packing department at International and Samuels Shoe Factory. She was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Howard Hinkley, Springfield, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Ray David and Norman Dell David, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Bill Nigus will officiate. Burial will be in Central Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.

EYNARD

Albin J. Eynard, 89, Westphalia, died Sept. 16, 2002, at Westphalia Retirement Center.

He was born Oct. 10, 1912, in Bonnots Mill, a son of August and Gertrude Kramer Eynard. He was married Jan. 22, 1936, in Bonnots Mill, to Alvina E. Bonnot, who survives in Westphalia.

He was a farmer and a rural mail carrier in Osage County for 41 years. He was a member of St. Louis Church in Bonnots Mill and Catholic Knights of America.

Survivors include: two sons, Donald J. Eynard, O'Fallon, and Robert C. Eynard,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Mary Ann Schepker,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Jerome Eynard,  Jefferson City, and Wilfrid Eynard, Kansas City; one sister, Ruth Marie Kuster, Linn; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

One son, Bill Eynard, and two grandchildren preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Church in Bonnots Mill. The Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik, the Rev. Michael J. Wilbers, V.G., the Rev. George J. Kramer and the Rev. Frederick J. Elskamp will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Church in Bonnots Mill.

CATRON

Alice Laudenberger Catron, 96, Sedalia, died Sept. 15, 2002, at Fair View Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 16, 1905, in Kansas City, a daughter of Herbert and Willa Fall Laudenberger. She was married July 15, 1939, to Orestes Roosevelt Catron, who died March 18, 1984.

She was a 1925 graduate of Smith Cotton High School. She attended Southwest Baptist College and the University of Missouri, graduating with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1934.

She was a teacher in Houstonia, Sedalia and in  Jefferson City from 1951 to 1973, when she retired after 41 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Gideons International ABWA, Helen G. Steele Music Club and Garden Club 7.

Survivors include: one son, John David Catron, Katy Texas ; one daughter, Mary Alice Brock, Huntsville, Texas ; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Drew Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Heckart-Gillespie Funeral Home, Sedalia.

Memorials are suggested to Gideons Living Memorial Bible Plan.

DILLON

Lehman Alfred Dillon, 58, Sunrise Beach, died Sept. 16, 2002, near Stover, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born April 18, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio, a son of Albert L. and Marcella Mount Dillon. His mother and stepfather, Marcella and Richard Wells, survive in Lemon Grove, Calif. He was married Aug. 5, 1988, in Naperville, Ill., to Mary P. Curtin, who survives at the home.

He was a retired detective for the Tucson Police Department and later a bank security guard. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Laurie; the Fraternal Order of Police; and the Elks Lodge.

Other survivors include: one son, Richard Dillon, Anchorage, Alaska; one sister, Marian Lewis, Christiana, Tenn.; and two stepbrothers, Michael Wells and Patrick Wells, both of the state of California.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Dennis Catholic Church, Lockport, Ill. The Rev. Jim Curtin will officiate. Graveside services will be in Chicago.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

Memorials are suggested to the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Laurie.

CLARKE

Nora Catherine Knipp Clarke, 92, San Leandro, Calif., died Sept. 14, 2002, in San Leandro.

She was born June 30, 1910, near Tipton, a daughter of Peter J. and Lena Dick Knipp. She was married Sept. 3, 1942, in Kansas City, to Thomas Christian Clarke, who died April 18, 1971.

She and her husband owned and operated the Blue Bird Motel in Kansas City in the 1950s. They were co-owners of the Travel Lodge at the Wharf in San Francisco, the St. Francis Apartments in Castro Valley and other properties. She lived in Kansas City, Ypsilanti, Mich., and in the Bay area in California. She was a member of St. Leander's Catholic Church in San Leandro and the YLI Council 68.

Survivors include: one brother, Edward J. Knipp, Tipton.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton. The Rev. Louis E. Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A rosary will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home in Tipton.
