LAWRENCE-MADDOX
Mildred E. Lawrence-Maddox, 85, Fulton, died Sept. 17, 2002, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
She was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, a daughter of James L. and Lettie Mae Smith Sparks. She was married Aug. 27, 1936, in Fulton, to Ruben Lawrence, who died Nov. 23, 1979. She was married Oct. 13, 1987, in Montgomery County, to Milton "Mick" Maddox, who died in 1990.
She was a waitress at Gasper's, Lay's and Kate's Cafe. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Merlin Sparks, Fulton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Bob Guese will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday.
HENDRICKS
Nicole Hendricks, 22, Gravois Mills, died Sept. 14, 2002, near Versailles, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Her unborn son also did not survive the crash.
She was born Aug. 29, 1980, in Creve Cour, a daughter of Robert L. and Barbara Dunman Hendricks. Her mother survives in Gravois Mills.
A 1998 graduate of Versailles High School, she worked at Three Pigs Restaurant. She was a member of Locust Baptist Church near Gravois Mills.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Dallas Moritz will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested for a bench in memory of Nicole Hendricks and her unborn son in care of the funeral home.
HOOD
Ila Hood, 80, Olathe, Kan., formerly of Stover, died Sept. 17, 2002, at her home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1922, in Bagnell, a daughter of Charles M. and Frances J. Scrimanger Payne. She was married Jan. 21, 1941, to Joseph R. Hood, who died Nov. 18, 1989.
She was a retired purchasing agent for the Jones Store Company in Kansas City. She was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Versailles and St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tipton.
Survivors include: two daughters, Joyce Ann Hauber, Coalville, Utah, and Marcia J. Reidy, Leawood, Kan.; two sisters, Jeri Matlock, Sun City, Ariz., and Olive Welsh, Sedalia; 14 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, Versailles. Burial will be in St. Andrews Cemetery, Tipton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
GATEWOOD
Kimberli Renea Hoover Gatewood, 34, Sunrise Beach, died Sept. 17, 2002, in Buffalo from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Oct. 3, 1967, in Kansas City, a daughter of Teddy L. and Donna Adams Hoover, who survive in Sunrise Beach.
She was a 1986 graduate of Camdenton High School. She worked at Windsor Estates Convalescent Center, where she was a licensed practical nurse. She was studying to become a registered nurse.
Other survivors include: one son, Matthew Kyle Hoover, of the home; two daughters, Danielle Millican and Megan Hoover, both of the home; one sister, Melinda Meyers, Sunrise Beach; paternal grandmother Dorothy Hoover, Sunrise Beach; and maternal grandmother Dorothy Adams, Independence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. The Rev. Nick Stutesman will officiate. Burial will be in Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery, Laurie.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today.
HAWKINS
Marvin K. Hawkins, 71, Gravois Mills, died Sept. 14, 2002, at his home.

SAND
Ila Hood Sand, 80, Olathe, Kan., formerly of Stover, died Sept. 17, 2002, in Olathe.

MILLICAN
Kimberly Millican, 35, Buffalo, formerly of Sunrise Beach, died Sept. 17, 2002, in Buffalo.

HAGER
Ruth A. Hager, 88, Jefferson City, died Sept. 19, 2002, at Jefferson City Manor Care Nursing Center.
She was born Jan. 10, 1914, in Sweet Springs, a daughter of Charles O. and Elizabeth J. Alfter Choate.
She attended schools in Houstonia and Knob Noster before moving to Jefferson City, where she worked for Tweedie Footwear Company from 1938 to 1943. She moved to Columbia in 1945 and worked for the Boone County collector, assessor and county clerk offices for several years. She returned to Jefferson City in 1974 and worked seven years for the Missouri Department of Revenue until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the Central United Church of Christ in Jefferson City.
Survivors include: five nieces, Cheryl E. Troughton, Jefferson City, Patricia J. Miller, St. Charles, Judith A. Gromowsky, Kansas City, Peggy J. McCraith, Hillsboro, and Vicki L. Tischer, Gladstone.
Private graveside services will be Saturday in Hickman Cemetery near Clarksburg.
Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
LAMM
Clarence "Dean" Lamm, 81, Clarksburg, died Sept. 19, 2002 at Moniteau Care Center, California.
He was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Bunceton, a son of Percy V. and Bessie I. McGill Lamm. He was married March 16, 1940, in Pettis County to Wilma Lee Kidwell, who died April 30, 1985.
He owned Lamm Construction, Omaha, Neb., and was a retired farmer.
Survivors include: one son, Ronald Dean Lamm, Clarksburg; two daughters, Bessie Lee Rennert, Fortuna, and Charolette Sue Napier, Jefferson City; one brother, Percy Lamm Jr., Denver; one sister, Lorene Daniels, Boonville; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Jack Bowlin will officiate. Burial will be in the California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday.

McCORMICK
Rita Aletha McCormick, 79, Jefferson City, died Sept. 18, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

John Paul Schwarzer, 90, St. Martins, died Sept. 18, 2002, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

William H. Wines, 76, Jefferson City, died Sept. 19, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

BURKHOLDER
Ezra Z. Burkholder, 68, Versailles, died Sept. 19, 2002, at his home.
He was born April 19, 1934, in Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pa., a son of Esra and Lydia Zimmerman Burkholder. He was married to Mattie Z. Martin, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer and a member of the Old Order Mennonite Clearview Church in Versailles.
Other survivors include: eight sons, Warren M. Burkholder, Ephrata, Pa., Elmer M. Burkholder, Withee, Wis., David Burkholder and Lloyd Burkholder, both of the home, Ezra Burkholder, Cleon Burkholder and Andrew Burkholder, all of Versailles, and Abner Burkholder, Calif.; three daughters, Mabel M. Eby, state of Michigan, Erma Kilmer and Minerva Martin, both of Versailles; five brothers, Paul Burkholder, Eli Burkholder, Aaron Burkholder and Weaver Burkholder, all of the state of Pennsylvania , and Raymond Burkholder, Baring; six sisters, Mary Martin, Esther Zimmerman, Lydia Reiff, Anna Martin, Edna Weaver and Elizabeth Weaver, all of the state of Pennsylvania ; and 40 grandchildren.
Four grandchildren preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Clearview Mennonite Church. Pastor Daniel Newswanger, Pastor Harry Leinbach, Pastor Raymond Stauffer and Pastor Raymond Shirk will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the family home near Versailles.
