LETT

Howard A. Lett, 82, Versailles, died Sept. 19, 2002, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.

He was born Aug. 24, 1920, near Proctor in Morgan County. He was married July 24, 1945, to Katie Mae Ritchie, who died Dec. 29, 2001.

He was a farmer. He worked for Shryack-Givens Grocery Company in Versailles, Banquet Foods in Marshall and was a prison guard in  Jefferson City for 13 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 104 in Versailles, a life member of VFW Post 5902 in Gravois Mills and a member of Timberwolfs Association. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall and a former member of First Baptist Church in Versailles. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received a purple heart.

Survivors include: four daughters, Irene Moody, state of Arizona, Viola Lee, Versailles, Freda Driskell, Marshall, and Reta Davis, Columbia; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. The Rev. Leslie Howard and the Rev. Paul Callahan will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart or Diabetes associations.

TAYLOR

Kevin R. Taylor, 63, Camdenton, died Sept. 19, 2002, at his home.

He was born July 22, 1939, in Johannesburg, South Africa, a son of Alexander and Mary Jane Whittaker Taylor. He was married Nov. 11, 1961, to Agnes Ferguson, who died Oct. 24, 1995.

Survivors include: two sons, Ian Taylor, Alpharetta, Ga., and Wade Taylor, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Sandra Sequeira, Johannesburg, and Pam Kochav, Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Bruce Taylor, Johannesburg; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. The Rev. Tracy Carroll will officiate. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to Missouri Hospice.

THOMPSON

Myrtle E. Thompson, 97, Chamois, died Sept. 19, 2002, at Green Meadows Skilled Nursing Facility in Linn.

She was born June 2, 1905, in Chamois, a daughter of Rudolph and Pauline Seivert Thee. She was married Sept. 15, 1924, in Linn, to Russell Thompson, who died Sept. 9, 1981.

She was a lifelong resident of the area and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chamois, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Survivors include: one son, Delbert Thompson, Largo, Fla.; four daughters, Eileen McIntosh, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mildred Kormann and Bonnie Kormann, both of Chamois, and Violet Lynch, Lake City, Fla.; one brother, Paul Thee, Red Cloud, Neb.; one sister, June Dyke,  Jefferson City; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchild and one great-great-great-grandchild.

One daughter, Beulah Joy Thompson, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Chamois. The Rev. Larry Hendrickson will officiate. Burial will be in Chamois City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday at Morton Funeral Home, Chamois.

Memorials are suggested to St. Aubert Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.

REESE

Arlie William Reese, 81, Fulton, died Sept. 19, 2002, at his home.

He was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Warren County, a son of Florence A. and Frances W. Astroth Reese. He was married Oct. 17, 1953, in Warrenton, to Edith May Wegener, who survives at the home.

He moved to Fulton in 1964 and worked as a registered land surveyor for Benard Browning until 1970. He worked for Harbison-Walker until 1985. He was a member of the Fulton United Church of Christ and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Karen Riley, Albuquerque, N.M., and Joyce Reese, St. Louis; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Warrenton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday.

MAUPIN

Donald G. Maupin, 62, New Franklin, died Sept. 20, 2002, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

He was born Dec. 14, 1939, in Franklin, a son of Arthur Lee and Nellie Jackson Maupin. He was married Sept. 22, 1961, in Boonville, to Cheeta Duncan, who preceded him in death.

She was a member of Friendship Foursquare Fellowship, New Franklin. He owned restaurants in New Franklin, Boonville and Fayette.

Survivors include: one son, Jason Maupin, New Franklin; one daughter, Sheila Kempker,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Raymond Maupin and Jimmy Maupin, both of Franklin; two sisters, Norma Robertson, Franklin, and Darlene Wilkerson, New Franklin; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Friendship Foursquare Fellowship. The Rev. Wayne Purvis will officiate. Burial will be in Clarks Chapel Cemetery, near New Franklin.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Markland-Gardner Funeral Home, New Franklin.

LAWSON

Patricia A. Seeney Lawson, 64, Rockville, Md., formerly of  Jefferson City, died Sept. 18, 2002, at Walter Reed Army Hospital, Washington , D.C.

She was born Oct. 8, 1938, in Jackson, Mich., a daughter of Ardis and James Seeney. She was married Dec. 24, 1960, in  Jefferson City, to Charles Lawson, who survives at the home.

She was a graduate of Lincoln University High School and Lincoln University. She attended graduate school at University of MissouriÐColumbia.

She was a teacher at St. Peters School,  Jefferson City, and Douglas High School, Columbia. She taught yoga and meditation classes in her home. She was a member of the Lincoln University alumni association, Washington , D.C., chapter.

Other survivors include three brothers, James H. Seeney Jr., Somerset, N.J., Charles E. Seeney, Edmund, Okla., and Kenneth Seeney, Holts Summit.

One daughter, Jacqueline Lawson, preceded her in death.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Hines Rinaldi Funeral Home, Silver Springs, Md.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday.

BORTON

Mayme Borton, 31, Lawrence, Kan., died Sept. 18, 2002 at a Topeka hospital.

She was born May 5, 1971, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Ray Rolland and Sharon K. McDowell Borton. Her mother survives at the home.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lawrence. She worked for several restaurants in the Lawrence community.

Other survivors include: two brothers, Quincy Borton and Tracy Borton, both of the home; one sister, Rosetta Goodyear, of the home; and one grandmother, Rosetta Saunders, Eudora, Kan.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel. Bishop Paul Markham will officiate. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Longview Cemetery,  Jefferson City.

Visitation will be from 8-9 a.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the Mayme Borton Memorial Fund.

HOWARD

Georgia Nell Howard, 91, Meta, died Sept. 20, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Care Center in St. Elizabeth.

She was born March 24, 1911, in Morgan County, a daughter of Thomas A. and Anna Mosely Gilbert. She was married Dec. 21, 1955, in Vienna, to Oscar Howard, who died Aug. 4, 1983.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in  Jefferson City and a homemaker. She attended Meta High School. At age 72, she earned a General Educational Development (GED) certificate for high school graduation. She was a volunteer teacher's aide through the Foster Grandparent Program at Linn, Meta and Westphalia schools and the Adult Education Center in  Jefferson City for 13 years, retiring at 88.

Survivors include: two stepdaughters, June Williams, Hermann, and Betty Radmacher, Linn; and step grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. The Rev. John Schutty will officiate. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery near Meta.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Peter Catholic Church Building Fund or St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

KLEIN

Flossie O. Klein, 89, Florence, died Sept. 21, 2002, at Boothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.

She was born March 29, 1913, in Florence, a daughter of Julius and Zelma Fischer Klein.

She attended Self Chapel school near Florence and was a member of the Senior Citizens Club, Florence.

Survivors include two sisters, Delsie Klein, Versailles, and Marguerite Werner, Versailles.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Scrivner-Morrow Chapel, Stover. The Rev. Orval Woolery will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John's UCC Cemetery, Florence.

Visitation will be Monday from 1 p.m. until the funeral.

Memorials are suggest to St. John's UCC Cemetery.
