BENTLEY

Terry E. Bentley, 58,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 30, 2002, at  Jefferson City Manor Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 23, 1944, in Madison, Wis., a son of Jay and Edith Ragles Bentley.

He moved to  Jefferson City in 1955.

Survivors include one brother, Roger Bentley,  Jefferson City.

Private graveside services will be Wednesday in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Special Olympics.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

HUTCHISON

Hobert A. Hutchison, 91, Versailles, died Sept. 29, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 12, 1910, near Latham, a son of Gilbert N. and Sarah Agnes Pettigrew Hutchison. He was married June 21, 1930, to Elizabeth Ellen Lingle, who died June 4, 1996.

He graduated from Fortuna High School and was a retired farmer and livestock trader. He was a member of the NFO, an original sponsor of the FFA in Versailles and was a 4-H leader and sponsor. He was a member of the Fortuna Senior Citizens. He was a member of Versailles United Methodist Church, where he served as deacon and usher, and was active with the MYF.

Survivors include: three daughters, Sarah E. Gares and Nellie C. Farris, both of Versailles, and Linda L. Greife, Camdenton; one brother, Tom Hutchison, Fortuna; two sisters, Marion Drake, Tipton, and Wilma Gates, Sedalia; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

One son, Don W. Hutchison, and one grandchild preceded him in death.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Jim Randall will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Hobert A. Hutchison Scholarship Fund.

KEETH

Services were Saturday for Lester Lee Keeth Sr., 58, Independence, who died Sept. 25, 2002, at the Medical Center of Independence.

He was born Oct. 4, 1943, in Waynesville, a son of Wayne P. and Vivian Ferguson Keeth. He was married Dec. 15, 1973, to Glynda I. Peterson, who survives at the home.

He graduated from Waynesville High School in 1961 and earned a bachelor's degree from Lincoln University. He worked at Wayne's Service Station, Waynesville.

In 1968, he began work in the prison in  Jefferson City. Since 1973, he worked as electric/utility plant manager at the Missouri Public Service Company, known as "Aquila," in Sibley.

Other survivors include: two sons, Lester Keeth Jr., Sparta, and Robert A. Agan, Blue Springs; one daughter, Barbara Wood,  Jefferson City; one brother, Edward Keeth, Springfield; and two grandsons.

Services were at Waynesville Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Mark Rounsaville officiated. Burial was in Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Lester Keeth Sr.

PENLAND

Ewell Austin "Squeak" Penland, 90, Crocker, died Sept. 29, 2002, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.

He was born Jan. 13, 1912, in Crocker, a son of Franklin and Alta Caldwell Penland. He was married Sept. 19, 1935, in Durant, Okla., to Clara Belle Speer, who died Jan. 5, 2001.

He was owned and operated Crocker Cash Grocery and Feed Store for 50 years. He was on the REA Electric Board of Pulaski County for 36 years.

Survivors include: one son, Calvin Penland, Crocker; two daughters, Gloria Tanner, Crocker, and Sue Foster, Waynesville; one brother, Cecil Penland, Crocker; four sisters, Telia Hunig, Crocker, Velma Alcorn, Arnold, and Nora Marshall and Yvonne Chesley, both of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Two grandchildren preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Long Funeral Home, Crocker. Randy Satterfield, Margaret Knaggs and Chris Brophy will officiate. Burial will be in Crocker Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

RICHARDSON

Karry R. Richardson, 43, Versailles, died Sept. 30, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born May 11, 1959, in Versailles, a daughter of Jack and Delores Schreck Williams. Her father and stepmother, Jack and Sarah Williams, survive in Versailles. Her mother and stepfather, Delores and Jerry Watring survive in Versailles.

She worked at Stride-Rite in Tipton and was a member of Fortuna Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Brandy Richardson, Tipton; four brothers, David Williams and Todd Williams, both of Versailles, Kevin Cobb, Tipton, and Vince Williams, Kansas City; four sisters, Rebecca Meyer and Jacqueline Kauffman, both of Versailles, Terry Williams, Fortuna, and Donna Phillips, England; and grandmothers, Frances Tankersley, Fortuna and Helen Schreck, Versailles;

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Dan Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.

SIMMONS

Denise S. Simmons, 35,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 26, 2002, in  Jefferson City.

She was born Nov. 12, 1966, in Chicago. Her father, Dennis Pettitt, survives in South Bend, Ind. She was married March 19, 1996, in South Bend, to Leonard N. Simmons, who survives at the home.

A homemaker, she was a resident of the  Jefferson City area for six years.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Latrice Pettitt, South Bend, Ind.; two brothers, Anthony Longstreet and Andre Longstreet, both of Chicago; and two grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.

Memorials are suggested to the Denise S. Simmons Memorial Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

TREADWAY

Lawrence S. Treadway, 62, Sunrise Beach, died Sept. 27, 2002, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

He was born Sept. 23, 1940, in St. Louis, a son of Charles and Elsie Saffley Treadway.

Private graveside services will be Thursday in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

LARANGEIRA

Matthew Joseph Larangeira, 16, Taos, died Sept. 30, 2002, in  Jefferson City.

He was born July 5, 1986, in  Jefferson City. His father Senior Chief (USN) Anthony J. Larangeira survives in Honolulu, Hawaii. His mother, Connie June Evans Todd, survives in Taos.

He was a junior at Blair Oaks High School and was involved in the student council, Future Business Leaders of America, the Spanish club and the math club. He also played baseball.

Other survivors include: two brothers, Anthony Larangeira and Thomas Larangeira, both of Taos; one sister, Caralee Todd, Taos; maternal grandmother, Mitsuko Evans, Taos; paternal grandparents, Tony and Leslie Larangeira, Toms River, N.J.; and paternal great-grandmother, Ruth Stocker, Toms River, N.J.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Eugene Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Jackson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
