CROWSON
Eula Mae Crowson, 78, Fulton, died Oct. 3, 2002, at her home.
She was born May 27, 1924, in Readsville, a daughter of Jack and Allie Davis Blackburn. She was married in 1960 to Claude Crowson, who died Nov. 30, 1979.
She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Katherine Kemper, Columbia; one son, the Rev. Mike Crowson, Fulton; one brother, Bill Blackburn, Fulton; three sisters, Helen Hoover and Iva Lee Farrell, both of Fulton, and Wanda Myers, Mexico; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Mike Crowson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.
WELDON
William H. Weldon, 94, of Jefferson City, died Oct. 4, 2002, at his home.
He was born May 16, 1908, in Westfield, N.J., the son of William H. and Sarah Jones Weldon. He was married in July 1956 in Connecticut to Betty Goshorn, who survives at the home.
He attended the Pingry School in Short Hills, N.J., and graduated from Lafayette College in 1931 with a major in English.
In October 1942, he was commissioned lieutenant junior grade in the U.S. Navy. He reported for active duty at Inshore Patrol School, Boston, Mass., in November 1942 and was stationed at the naval base at Cape May, N.J. Later, he was stationed at the submarine chaser training center in Miami, Fla., and at the amphibious training base at Camp Bradford, Va., in 1943. He achieved the rank of lieutenant in January 1944, and in April 1944, he served as commandant of the First Naval District. He was the first commanding officer of LST1014 when it was commissioned in May 1944. LST 1014 won three battlestars for its World War II service. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre in World War II, participating in the capture of the Southern Palau Islands, the Leyte Landing in the Philippines, and the assault and occupation of Okinawa. He stayed in the Far East at the end of World War II in October 1945. He resigned his commission in May 1946.
He was a member of the board of directors of the Storer Broadcasting Company. He also served as an honorary Missouri colonel under Gov. Warren E. Hearnes.
He was employed as a broadcast radio sales account executive with the John Blair Company in New York, N.Y., from 1934 until his enlistment in the Navy in 1943.
In 1949, he established Blair Television Inc., a television sales representative firm in New York, as a separate corporation, and served as the first president.
In 1958, he resigned the post and became the owner of KRCG-TV in Jefferson City. At one time, he owned and operated two television stations in Jefferson City and Sedalia and one radio station, KWOS.
He was the publisher of the Jefferson City News Tribune for many years until ill health forced his retirement.
Mr. Weldon also owned and operated Cardinal Airlines and a Cessna aircraft dealership in Lynchburg, Va.
He raced automobiles for the Porsche Racing Team in the 1950s at Sebring and Watson Glen and obtained his pilot's license in the late 60s. An avid golfer, Mr. Weldon was a member of the Pine Valley Golf Club in New Jersey and other notable golf courses.
Other survivors include: one adopted son, Frank Gifford Handy Weldon of Jefferson City; four daughters, Lenore "Tony" Weldon, New Bloomfield, Sally Weldon Brooks, Big Foot, Mont., Donna Weldon and Blair Yakola; two brothers, Norbert Weldon of Juno Beach, Fla., and Robert Weldon, Westfield, N.J.; and two grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be conducted Tuesday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
FRANKLIN
Ruby G. Franklin, 91, Linn Creek, died Oct. 3, 2002, at Lake Regional Health Systems in Osage Beach.
She was born July 9, 1911, a daughter of John and Setta Gouge Fudge. She was married on April 14, 1929, to Clarence Franklin, who preceded her in death.
She was born and raised in Linn Creek, and lived there after her marriage. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She attended Freedom Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her son, J.C. Franklin, Linn Creek, her grandson, three granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Pitts officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials are suggested to Freedom Cemetery.
PENDLETON
Numan E. Pendleton, 94, Westphalia, died Oct. 5, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born July 6, 1908, in Meta, a son of Irvin and Ollie Frances Evans Pendleton. He was married April 4, 1935, in Meta, to Edna Mae Bilyeu, who survives in Westphalia.
A former Meta resident, he was manager for the Meta Cheese Factory for many years.
He worked for Meta Exchange for 35 years until his retirement.
He was a member of Meta Christian Church.
Other survivors include: one son, Carthel "Pee Wee" Pendleton, Columbia; two daughters, Joyce Fick, St. Louis, and Loas Zimmer, Jefferson City; one brother, Winston Pendleton, Wildwood; two sisters, Cleta Bilyeu, St. Clair, and Amy Champlain, Wildwood; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta. The Rev. Manuel Seaton will officiate. Burial will be in Stokes Cemetery near Meta.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

EWING
Irven Pryor Ewing, 75, Mokane, died Oct. 6, 2002, at his home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1926, near Boydsville, a son of James H. and Lillian Redman Brooks Ewing. He was married June 26, 1948, in Moberly, to Margaret Ann Taylor, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer in the Mokane area all of his adult life.
He was a member of Mokane United Methodist Church, Odd Fellows Lodge in Tebbetts and VFW Post 2657 in Fulton.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include: two sons, James Andrew Ewing, Tebbetts, and Irven Craig Ewing, Mokane; one brother, Kenneth Ewing, Tebbetts; four sisters, Geraldine Ewing O'Toole, Downy, Calif., Gladys Ewing Miller and Juanita Ewing Attebery, both of Fulton, and Hazel Ewing Daro, Fairbanks, Alaska; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. The Rev. Larry Sapp Jr., will officiate. Burial will be in Middle River Cemetery near Mokane.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.

JENKINS
Veronica Elizabeth Iven Jenkins, 90, Jefferson City, died Oct. 5, 2002, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
She was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Henley, a daughter of William F. and Katherine Schulte Frank. She was married Jan. 29, 1929, in Marys Home, to John Henry Iven, who died Oct. 1, 1970. She was married Sept. 29, 1980, in Jefferson City, to Hershel Isaac Jenkins Sr., who survives at the home.
She was a sales clerk with J.C. Penny Company for 17 years, retiring in 1978. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Other survivors include: one son, Robert J. Iven, Jefferson City; one daughter, Joann C. Thessen, Taos; four stepsons, Hershel Jenkins Jr., O'Fallon, Rick Jenkins, Brandon, Fla., Randy Jenkins, Jefferson City, and David Jenkins, Conneautville, Pa.; two sisters, Elfie Meyerpeter, Jefferson City, and Irene Sanning, Eldon; 15 grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 13 step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church Chapel. The Rev. Donald W. Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
