JOHNSON

Pearl Johnson, 94, Dixon, died June 30, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born icon July 4, 1904, in Dixon, a daughter of Marion and Minnie Jones Davidson. She was married icon April 1, 1933, in Vienna, to Samuel Calvin Johnson, who died Feb. 26, 1971.

She attended Wheeler Church, near Dixon, and later Worldwide Church of God, Rolla.

A homemaker, she was a secretary at the Maries County Courthouse until 1933. She also was employed at a glove company in Bland.

Survivors include: three sons, Lowell Johnson and Charles Johnson, both of Dixon, and Don Johnson, Vienna; one daughter, Minnie Branson, Holts Summit; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Al Kersha will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery, near Dixon.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday.

MORRISON

Paul Earney Morrison, 66, Camdenton, died June 30, 1999, at his home.

He was born icon Dec. 29, 1932, in Versailles, a son of Bert and Cora Howery Morrison. He was married icon Dec. 15, 1990, in Salem, Wis., to Ruth Anne Steiskal, who survives at the home.

He had lived in Camdenton for the past two years. He was employed as a heavy equipment machanic with the U.S. government. He was an Army veteran.

Other survivors include: four sons; one daughter; four stepdaughters; three sisters, Milva Lee Stafford and Marjorie Hart, both of Versailles, and Judy Ann Williams, Gravios Mills; and nine step grandchildren.

Private burial will be in Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

PHILLIPS

Berdie Phillips, 89, Ferguson, Iowa, died June 30, 1999, at her home.

She was born icon March 18, 1910, in Brumley, a daughter of Izazc M. and Mary Suns Rodden. She was married icon in 1926 in Melbourne, Iowa, to Walter Phillips, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: one son, Richard Phillips, Ferguson; one daughter, Velda Howard, Parsons, Kan.; three sisters, Alice Phillips, Des Moines, Julie Brockman, Jefferson City, and Mary Brockman, New Bloomfield; three brothers, Gilbert Rodden, Eddie Rodden and Chester Rodden, all of Brumley; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son and one grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Estel Perrin Avey Funeral Home, Marshalltown, Iowa. The Rev. Bobby Shomo will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today.

SOCHINSKI

Stanley A. Sochinski, 81, Jefferson City, died June 30, 1999, at Ellis-Fischel Cancer Center, Columbia.

He was born icon March 5, 1918, in New York City, a son of John and Sophie Gregovich Sochinski. He was married icon Oct. 21, 1945, in Jefferson City, to Mary F. Bassman, who survives at the home.

He had been a resident of Jefferson City since 1946 and had graduated from high school in New York City. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was employed with the Missouri State Auditor's office from 1949 until1971.

From 1971 to 1973, he was an analyst with the Missouri Division of Employment Security. He served as the administrator for Anesthia Associates from 1973 until his retirement in 1984.

He was a member of Central United Church of Christ and American Legion Roscoe Post 5.

Other survivors include: three sons, James R. Sochinski, Blacksburg, Va., Robert A. Sochinski, Jefferson City, and John N. Sochinski, Orlando, Fla; one daughter, Patti Hall, Milwaukee, Wis.; one brother, Henry Sochinski, Long Island, N.Y.; one sister, Joan Assante, Woodside, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services and entombment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Stanley Sochinski Memorial Fund.

WILHELM

Dr. Warren F. Wilhelm, 81, Lake Ozark, died June 29, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born icon June 4, 1918, in Chicago. He was married icon March 23, 1945, to Tozia Stawicki, who survives at the home.

He attended Beloit College, Beloit, Wis., and received his medical degree in 1945 from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. An Army veteran, he completed his residency and fellowship training in internal medicine at the Mayo Foundation, Rochester, Minn. He became the medical director of Research Clinic, Kansas City and then established his private practice in internal medicine and diagnosis. He was associated with Research Medical Center for over 32 years, serving as chief of medicine, chief of staff and on the board of trustees.

He also served as president of the Jackson County Medical Society, president of the Kansas City Heart Association, president of the Kansas City chapter of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association and president of the American Diabetes Association. He was named a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians. He also received teaching appointments at medical schools for the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Kansas. He retired in 1984.

He was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach. He was a member of the Greater Lake Area Arts Council and was a past president of the Ozarks Lake Rotary Club.

Other survivors include: two sons, Rick Wilhelm, Southlake, Texas, Dr. Don Wilhelm, Lake Ozark; one daughter, Nancy Ford, Edmond, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.

One son, Bob Wilhelm, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church.

Visitation will follow services at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Lake Ozark General Hospital Foundation-Coronary Care Unit, 54 Hospital Drive, Osage Beach, Mo. 65065; or to the scholarship fund at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, 5567 Hwy. 54, Osage Beach, Mo. 65065.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

TAYLOR

Mildred Pauline Holzhauser Taylor, 79, Mokane, died June 29, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born icon Dec. 14, 1919, in Portland, a daughter of Adolph M. and Mildred Sommers Holzhauser. She was married icon Jan. 4, 1937, to Joseph Milton Taylor, who died June 12, 1958.

She was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church, Portland.

She worked at the Boone Store, Mokane.

Survivors include: four daughters, Jessie Bartley and Jo Anne Clingman, both of Mokane, Juanita Clingman, Steedman, and Janice Miller, Tebbetts; three sons, James M. Taylor, Mokane, Jerry R. Taylor, Jefferson City, and Jack W. Taylor, Tebbetts; one sister, Mary Margaret "Sis" Rogers, New Franklin; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, John Merlin Taylor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Mokane Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the March of Dimes or the American Heart Association.

BODE

Mary Ann Bode, 65, Jefferson City, died June 30, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

HENDRICKS

David C. Hendricks, 57, Meta, died June 30, 1999, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.

He was born icon Sept. 2, 1941, in Jefferson City, a son of Eugene and Veronica Gerling Hendricks. His mother survives in Meta. He was married icon Oct. 20, 1962, in Meta, to Gertrude Handing, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School.

He worked for Prost Builders, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Union Local 396, St. Louis.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Shari Finnigan, Dixon, Pam Hendricks and Cheryl Basiger, both of Meta, and Kateena Matteson, Fayetteville, N.C.; one brother, Louis Hendricks, Brinktown; three sisters, Evelyn Surface, Holts Summit, Lorene Hagenhoff and Nancy Gragert, both of Meta; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be private.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.

McINTIRE

Delbert R. McIntire, 83, Holts Summit, died June 30, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

Arrangements are incomplete with Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Holts Summit.

BEANLAND

Edsel G. Beanland, 76, Eldon, died July 1, 1999, at his home.

He was born icon Oct. 9, 1922, in Barnett, a son of Edward T. "Ted" and Minnie Josephine Bookout Beanland. He was married icon Sept. 14, 1944, in Stowmarket, Suffolk County, England, to Doris M. Hawkins, who survives at the home.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a water well driller for most of his life. He invented the tire bead breaker and the concept of armor plating to protect pilots.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Clifford, Cole Camp; three sons, Ernest Gerald Beanland, Kansas City, and Howard Lynn Beanland and Bobby Edsel Beanland, both of Eldon; one brother, Howard Dale Beanland, Collinsville, Ill.; two sisters, Fern Koleson, Collinsville, and Jewel Daugherty, Edwardsville, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Edward Fort Beanland.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Howard Lynn Beanland and Pastor Ray Hogan will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Lake Ozark Hospice.
