OBERMILLER
Myra Jean Obermiller, 79, Jefferson City, died Oct. 7, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Jackson, a daughter of Theodore and Ethel Davis Obermiller.
She graduated in 1940 from Jackson High School and was a 1944 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University.
She taught school in Oceola, Ark., from 1944-1945. She moved to Muskegon, Mich. in 1946 and taught elementary school for 34 years, retiring in Jefferson City in 1980. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City, where she sang in the choir She also sang in the choir in Muskegon.
Survivors include: three brothers, James Obermiller, Grand Rapids, Mich., Jack Obermiller, Cape Girardeau, and Jerry Obermiller, Jefferson City; two sisters, Martha Egley, Webster Groves, and Madge Abernathy, Centerville, Ohio.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Rudolph W. Beard will officiate. Entombment will be in Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church Music Department.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
PARRACK
Bert V. Parrack, 81, Macks Creek, died Oct. 9, 2002, at his home.
He was born June 6, 1921, in Macks Creek, a son of Alfred and Ollie Lynch Parrack. He was married to Alice Knox, who died in February 1995. He was married Aug. 25, 1996, in Tunas, to Berniece Green, who survives at the home.
He was a factory worker for a novelty company. He was a member of Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church in Tunas.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Parrack, Pennlyn, Pa.; one daughter, Barbara Harless, Tunas; one stepson, Kenneth Ray Eidson, Macks Creek; one stepdaughter, Nancy Stovall, Eldon; one sister, Erma D. Hicks, Urbana; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
One son, two daughters, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step grandchildren preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home in Camdenton. The Rev. Donnie Leap will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Tunas.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
SHAFFER
Jamie Newman Shaffer, 38, Roach, died Oct. 7, 2002, at South Point Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born Feb. 10, 1964, in Kansas City, a son of Jack N. and Joyce Loretta Postalwait Shaffer, who survive in Camdenton. He was married July 16, 1988, to Mildred Ann Rogers, who survives at the home.
He lived in St. Joseph and moved to Camdenton in 1976. He graduated from Camdenton High School in 1982. He worked as a mechanic and as a cook. He was a typesetter with the Camdenton Reveille newspaper and was a caregiver and worked in maintenance at Mozark Health Resort in Roach. He was a member of a Camdenton Boy Scout troop and the National Rifle Association.
Other survivors include: one son, Joshua Glenn Shaffer, of the home; two daughters, Cassondra Shaffer and Chelsey Shaffer, both of the home; two brothers, Jeffrey Newman Shaffer, Warrenton, and Jason Newman Shaffer, Springfield.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. J.R. McQuire will officiate. Burial will be in Laughlin Cemetery near Camdenton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
HOLZEM
Helen E. Holzem, 85, Morrison, died Oct. 10, 2002, at Green Meadows Skilled Nursing Center, Linn.
She was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Chamois, a daughter of Joseph and Bertha Rippstien Boss. She was married Nov. 17, 1942, in Chamois, to Harry Holzem, who survives.
She worked at Oberman Pant Factory in Jefferson City. She also worked at International Shoe Company and Handi Pac Toy Manufacturing, both in Hermann.
She was a member of Assumption Church, Morrison, and the ladies sodality.
Other survivors include: two sons, Clifford Holzem, Jefferson City, and Ken Holzem, Linn; three daughters, Betty Niederer, Owensville, Judy Rohrbach, Taos, and Debbie Troesser, Wardsville; three sisters, Rosella Boss, Chamois, Genevieve Boss, Linn, and Dorothy Topel, Peoria, Ill.; one brother, Don Boss, state of Florida; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Church. The Rev. Pat Dowling will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Assumption Church, with a wake service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Mid-Missouri Alzheimer's Association or Assumption Cemetery.

CARDWELL
Earl T. Cardwell, 75, Ashland, died Oct. 10, 2002, at his home.
He was born Feb. 28, 1927, in Jefferson City, a son of Sidney W. and Melinda M. Snelling Cardwell. He was married June 26, 1951, to Ruby Cain, who survives in Ashland.
He attended Jefferson City schools and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of operating engineers Local 513 for 50 years. He was a member of AARP.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Sandra McKee, Ashland; two sisters, Sidney Johnsey, Eldon, and Willman Hazelbaker, Des Moines, Iowa; four grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland.

FRANK
Edward Francis Frank, 85, Wardsville, died Oct. 10, 2002, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged.
He was born Sept. 8, 1917, in Taos, a son of Bernard and Elizabeth Beller Frank. He was married July 31, 1945, in Wardsville, to Pauline Sue Ann Schrimpf, who died Feb. 21, 2001.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was employed with Duke Linhardt Construction Company. He was a foreman with the Shell Construction Company. In 1983, he retired as a construction trade instructor with the Jefferson City Public Schools and Nichols Career Center.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, and the Holy Name Society. He was a lifetime member and a 61-year member of of Carpenters Local 945. He was a charter member of the Wardsville Lions Club and of the Taos Fire Department Board of Trustees. He served 15 years on the R-2 School Board and was on the board during the construction of Blair Oaks High School.
Survivors include: two sons, Paul E. Frank, Jefferson City, and Gary L. Frank, Wardsville; two daughters, Lois D. Fairchild, and Wanda K. Hoelscher, both of Jefferson City; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The Rev. Louis E. Dorn will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church.

JACOB
Jimmie C. Jacob, 59, Osage Beach, died Oct. 9, 2002, at Ozark Care Center, Osage Beach.
He was born March 13, 1943, in St. Louis, a son of John C. and Wanda Juanita Jacob. He was married June 25, 1960, in St. Louis, to Patricia Medlock, who survives at the home.
He owned Ozark Realty for 25 years. He was a member of Elks Lodge 2517 in Osage Beach, the Bagnell Dam Board of Realtors in Lake Ozark and the Missouri Association of Realtors.
Other survivors include: one son, Mark Jacob, Sugarland, Texas ; one daughter, Elizabeth Tollefson, Annapolis, Md.; one brother, Bill Tate, Rockford, Ill.; three sisters, Marcella James, Wanda Wilson and Lela Kofron, all of St. Louis; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Randy Gray will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.
LUGO-DIXON
Elba Lugo-Dixon, 64, Jefferson City, died Oct. 5, 2002, in Puebla, Mexico.
She was born June 26, 1938, in Puebla, Mexico, a daughter of Roberto and Consuelo Mendez Lugo. Her mother survives in Puebla. She was married Sept. 7, 1962, in Puebla, to Ted Dixon Sr., who survives at the home.
She graduated from the University of Puebla in Mexico in 1958, with a degree in pharmacology and accounting. She worked for a local pharmacy for many years.
Other survivors include: two sons, Ted Dixon, Jr., and Richard Dixon, both of Kirkwood; two daughters, Rebecca Dixon-Lazzaro, Brentwood, and Adriane Dixon-Crouse, Jefferson City; one brother, Rafael Lugo, Puebla, Mexico; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. James Smith will officiate. Private family burial will be at a later date.
