GUINEY
Kathleen Virginia Guiney, 88, Fulton, died Oct. 26, 2002, at her home.
She was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of James Patrick and Mary Ann Peyton Lydon. She was married July 14, 1947, in Gary, Ind., to William Edward Guiney, who died July 4, 1980.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Shepherdsfield community.
Survivors include: a son, William T. Guiney, Poway, Calif.; two daughters, Madeline Welker, Fulton, and Mary Ann Guiney, the state of South Dakota; a sister, Anne Bemis, San Clemente, Calif., and several grandchildren.
Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Debo Funeral Home in Fulton.
FREISE
Sherry M. Freise, 47, Topeka, Kan., formerly of Jefferson City, died Oct. 25, 2002, at her home.
She was born July 12, 1955, in Union, a daughter of Walter W. and Myrna L. Mothershead Ellison. Her father survives with her stepmother, Paula Ellison, in Eureka. Her mother survives with her stepfather, LaDon Peterson, in Camdenton. She was married Dec. 18, 1976, in Union, to David G. Freise, who survives at the home.
She was a 1973 graduate of Union High School, a graduate of the Nichols Career Center School of Dental Assistants, Jefferson City, and a graduate of East Central Junior College, Union. She was a dental assistant for Dr. J.B. Askew.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka, the Spinning Heels Square Dance Club, Jefferson City, and a sponsor of the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Sarah N. Barnhart, Topeka, Kan., Megan E. Frost, Eudora, Kan., and Jackie S. Freise of the home; four sisters, Brenda Bucceri, Nobleton, Fla., Sheila Mahaffey, Manchester, Jeana Shelton, St. Clair, and Billy Messex, Kansas City, and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Monday with a Rosary service at 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at Brennen-Mathena Funeral Home, Topeka.
Memorials are suggested to the Capper Foundation or the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging.
WATRING
Lewis "Ed" Watring, 73, Syracuse, died Oct. 25, 2002, at KATY Manor Nursing Home, Pilot Grove.
He was born March 25, 1929, in Cooper County a son of Lewis Franklin and Anna Laura Rogers Watring. He was married Sept. 25, 1977, to Maggie Hardy, who died June 12, 1995.
He was a member of Otterville Methodist Church. He was a heavy-machinery operator and did bulldozing for Langkop Construction for 36 years.
Survivors include: two sons, Stephen Watring, Pilot Grove, and Kenneth Watring, Auxvasse; two daughters, Pam Wallenburn, Otterville, and Shirley Jones, Smithton; four sisters, Lillian Rimel, Ruby Knipp, Maggie Klein, Tipton, and Anna Hirst, Columbia; two brothers, Jay Watring, Tipton, and Jerry Watring, Versailles, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Dale Watring.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. Rev. Jim Downing will officiate. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family attending from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Jill Wallenburn Fund at Otterville Bank, or to the Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program at Children's Therapy Center.
TRIM
Alice M. Trim, 93, Jefferson City, died Oct. 26, 2002, at her home.
She was born Nov. 26, 1908, in Pattonville, Texas , a daughter of James M. and Minnie E. Gann. She was married Aug. 11, 1928, in Paris, Texas , to James E. Trim, who died Dec. 11, 2001.
She attended school in Shiloh, Texas . She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: four sons, Joe E. Trim, Dixon, Floyd Trim and Gary Trim, both of Jefferson City and Lloyd Trim, Bay City, Texas ; one sister, Gertrude Burns, Amarillo, Texas ; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Harold G. Trim, and two grandsons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors- Jefferson City Chapel. Henry Winters will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
WRIGHT
Eugene J. Wright, 60, Meta, died Oct. 25, 2002, at his home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1942, in St. Louis, a son of George and Mabel Barnes Wright. He was married July 26, 1969, in St. Louis, to Luisa M. Santacruz, who survives at the home.
He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Meta, and Teamsters Local Union, Jefferson City. He worked for Farmer's Concrete Company, Jefferson City.
Other survivors include: one son, Christopher Wright, Meta; one daughter, Christine Bushong, Petaluma, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Jefferson City. The Rev. John Schutty will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.
WOOLLEY
Mildred Ruth Woolley, 76, Belle, died Oct. 25, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 13, 1925, near Koenig, a daughter of Virgil and Stella Johnson Gieck. She was married Aug. 21, 1946, to Lloyd Woolley, who survives.
She attended school in Indian Creek. She worked in the shoe factories in Belle, Owensville and Washington , and retired from the United Shoe Workers of America. She was a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary 3410, Belle, for which she served as president.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Sandra Dingley, Belle; a son, Vincent Woolley, Belle; four grandchildren, Ryan, Jamie, Jennifer and Vincent, Jr.; a sister, Marie Reed, Owensville, two brothers, Boyd and Gilbert Gieck, both of Belle, and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Sassmann's Chapel, Belle. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. today.
WATKINS
Dale Watkins, 52, Gravois Mills, died Oct. 24, 2002, at Lake Regional Health System.
Arrangements are at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
BARBOUR
Claude B. Barbour, 73, Stover, died Oct. 27, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 5, 1929, in Leeton, a son of Galen and Edna Phelps Barbour. He was married April 11, 1948, in Warsaw, to Helen Marie Jackson, who survives at the home.
He was a graduate of Holden High School.
He worked at Union Wire and Rope in Kansas City for 17 years and retired from Gates Rubber Co. in Versailles, after working for 11 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Stover.
He played in the Stover's Melody Makers band.
He was an Army veteran.
Other survivors include: one son, William Russell Barbour, Fortuna; three daughters, Pamela Coontz, Versailles, Marsha Lynn Garrett, Raytown; and Patricia Dianne Meyer, Cole Camp; one sister, Pauline Castagno, Liberty; nine grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles. The Rev. Dinzel Webb will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
