EASTWOOD

Dorothy Fern Eastwood, 81, Fulton, died Oct. 30, 2002, at Callaway Community Hospital.

She was born Feb. 8, 1921, in Brumley, a daughter of G.B. and Charlsie Helton Pope. She was married Sept. 30, 1950, in Fulton, to S. C. Eastwood, who died March 10, 1978.

She worked for Monsanto in St. Louis, for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator, and Samuel Shoe Co. She retired from J. C. Penney, Fulton. She was a member of First Christian Church, where she was a Sunday school leader. She also was a 4-H leader.

Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Alan Eastwood, Fulton; two daughters, Barbara Lynn Maupin and Beverly Elaine Lepley, both of Fulton; three brothers, Jim Pope, Fulton, Joe Pope, Kingdom City, and Bill Pope, San Antonio, Texas ; seven sisters, Mary Ross, Fulton, Jean Bolton, Kingdom City, Dean Reed, Corpus Christi, Texas , Ruby Monk, Wendell, Idaho, Fay Humbird, Indianapolis, Lucille Cobb, Springfield, and Nancy "Bertie" Hays, St. James.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Kathryn Ann Eastwood, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. William Korte, the Rev. Bill Nigus and the Rev. Walter Lockhart will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

HOWSER

Connie Sue Howser, 60, Eldon, died Oct. 30, 2002, in Osage Beach.

She was born June 3, 1942, in Eldon, a daughter of Claude C. and Clara Honiker Burris. She was married Nov. 11, 1959, in Kansas City, to Lee Boyd Howser, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Sandra Lynn Howser and Dolly Ann Heinle, both of Florissant; one stepdaughter, Rosie Willis, Eldon; three brothers, James Burris, Donald Burris and Dewey Burris, all of Eldon; six sisters, Betty Laughlin, Blue Springs, Josephine Buster and Beverly Buster, both of Pleasant Hill, Carolyn Pollitt, Holts Summit, Marsha Martin, Olean, and Marla Burris, Eldon; one grandson; five step grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Jim McGowin will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.

STEINER

Roy L. Steiner, 80, California, died Oct. 31, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 2, 1922, in Moniteau County, a son of John E. and Emma Margaret Baer Steiner. He was married April 22, 1944, in New Bern, N.C., to Pauline Herndon, who survives at the home.

He was a 1939 graduate of California High School. He retired in 1972 as regional right of way officer for the Federal Highway Administration. He was a member of St. Paul's UCC, Jamestown. He was a Marine veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: one brother, Harold J. Steiner, Kenai, Alaska; one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.

One son, Michael Steiner, died in 1973.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Chester Marshall will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Masonic Cemetery, California.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's UCC Building Fund, Jamestown, Mo. 65046 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 915 Olive St., Suite 815, St. Louis, Mo. 63101.

WRIGHT

Terra Sue Woolley Wright, 47, Belle, died Oct. 30, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Aug. 22, 1955, in Wood River, Ill., a daughter of Harold "Wimp" and Virginia Shockley Woolley, who survive in Belle.

She served as president of Ladies Auxiliary Post 3410, Belle, and was active in the VFW.

Other survivors include: one son, Christopher Wright, Belle; two daughters, Nichoel Snodgrass and Crystal Wright, both of Belle; five sisters, Debra Wright, Mt. Vernon, Ill., Vicki Stallman, Moberly, and Sherri Crider, Christi Graham and Kerri Hoover, all of Belle; maternal grandmother, Veta Shockley, Belle; and three grandsons.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, Belle. Bruce Elmore and Doug Lane will officiate. Burial will be in Skaggs Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Sassmann's Funeral Home, Belle.

Memorials are suggested to Community Breast Care Project, in memory of Terra Sue Wright, c/o Mariam Kuensting, 412 Route T,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65109.

AYRES

Corda Viola Ayres, 87, Versailles, died Nov. 1, 2002, at Good Shepherd Care Center.

She was born June 5, 1915, in Camden County, a daughter of Thomas B. and Deliah Flippin Bishop. She was married Feb. 15, 1936, in Buffalo, to Thomas Carroll Ayres, who died June 24, 1993.

She worked as a secretary for Sheriff Kenneth "Pete" Goodman and Judge A.J. Bolinger in Versailles. She and her husband owned and operated Ayres Dairy for many years. She was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Versailles and was active in the Womens Civic Club and the PTA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Beverly Ann Hughes Yarger, Versailles; one brother, Rollo Bishop, Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandsons, one great-grandaughter, three stepgrandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Diane Miller will officiates. Burial will be in West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to Westminster United Presbyterian Church.

FENSTEMAKER

Letha A. Fenstemaker, 92, Laurie, died Nov. 1, 2002, at Laurie Care Center.

She was born May 19, 1910, in Lawrence, Kan., a daughter of John and Mattie Corbin Hallmark. She was married to Stanley T. Fenstemaker, who died in 1984.

She was an insurance secretary.

Survivors include: two sons, Alan Fenstemaker and Gary Fenstemaker, both of Laurie; six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Clinton Cemetery, near Lawrence.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

HAYWORTH

Sybil Hayworth, 89, Tipton, died Nov. 1, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born July 28, 1913, in Nottingham, England, a daughter of John and Ada Watkins Freestone. She was married Aug. 31, 1946, in Lansing, Mich., to Clarence Ed Hayworth, who died Jan. 25, 1990.

She moved from England to America in 1926. She worked as a secretary at American State Bank in Lansing prior to moving to Tipton. She was a member of Syracuse Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Gwen Phelps, state of Florida; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. John Hayworth will officiate. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be prior to the funeral.

Memorials are suggested to Tipton Manor.

BELL

Stephen Jack Bell, 45,  Jefferson City, died Oct. 31, 2002, at his residence.

He was born April 22, 1957, in Detroit, a son of Harold Jack and Janet M. Ball Bell. His father survives in Canton, Texas .

He was a 1975 graduate of San Gabriel High School, San Gabriel, Calif. He received a certificate of machine tools in 1985 from Central Vocational Technical School, Sapulpa, Okla. He worked for Wal-Mart in maintenance in Lake Havasu, Ariz. He was a member of Southridge Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: two sons, Stephen L. Bell and Freddy D. Bell, both of Buckeye, Ariz.; two brothers, Ray Bell, Houston, and Nathan Bell, Dallas; and four sisters, Carolyn McCurley,  Jefferson City, Cheryl Rice, Lake Forest, Calif., Jackie Ritz, Ft. Worth, Texas , and Kim Anderson,  Oklahoma City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Southridge Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Walker will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1013, Columbia, Mo. 65205.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
