PARRACK
Noel Edward Parrack, 47, Topeka, Kan., formerly of Macks Creek, died Nov. 1, 2002, in Encinitas, Calif.
He was born Sept. 30, 1955, in Humansville, a son of Clarence and Sally Campbell Parrack. His mother survives in St. Mary's, Kan. He was married Oct. 31, 1988, in Reno, Nev., to Betty Paska, who survives at the home.
He owned and operated Bird Bird Trucking Co. and hauled for CFI Trucking, Joplin.
Other survivors include: four sons, Billy Parrack, San Pablo, Calif., Calvin Parrack, Livermore, Calif., and Robert Tundstall and Rodney Cook, both of Topeka; one daughter, Sherri Tundstall, Topeka; three brothers, Richard Parrack, St. Mary's, and Robert Parrack and John Bush, both of Kansas City; one sister, Mary Nichols, Kansas City; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home, Macks Creek. The Rev. Tommy Parrack and the Rev. Robert Parrack will officiate. Burial will be in Macks Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
SNELLINGS
Dollie Snellings, 78, Montreal, died Nov. 3, 2002, at Laurie Care Center.
She was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Lee's Summit, a daughter of George and Edith Caviness Shepherd. She was married May 10, 1941, in Camdenton, to Elda Snellings, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Myetta Missionary Baptist Church. She had lived in Linn Creek and Kansas City.
Other survivors include: one son, Gene Snellings, Montreal; three brothers, Louis Shepherd, Nixa, and Bruce Shepherd and Johnny Shepherd, both of Sunrise Beach; one sister, Betty Burch, Camdenton; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
One son, Jerl Snellings, and three grandsons, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Paul Burns will officiate. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
BANKER
Helen E. Banker, 90, Jefferson City, died Nov. 5, 2002, in Lohman.
She was born Nov. 19, 1911, in Dickson City, Pa., a daughter of Simon and Caroline Stahura Wisniewski. She was married June 30, 1932, in Whitestone, N.Y., to Robert H. Banker, who died July 29, 1966.
She was a resident of Whitestone from 1925-1996, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In 1996, she moved to Jefferson City, where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
Survivors include: one son, Robert H. Banker Jr., Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters, Delemar N. "Del" Ehrhardt, Lohman, and Carolyn C. Doll, Freehold, N.J.; one brother, Charles Wisneski, Ridge, N.Y.; one sister, Martha Brennan, West Palm Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jerome Brownlee will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Flushing Cemetery, N.Y.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Lutheran Hour Ministries, Trinity Lutheran Church Bus Program, Trinity Lutheran Church Parish Nurse Program, Missouri River Hospice of Jefferson City, Immanuel Lutheran Church or Millneck Manor School for the Deaf in Muttontown, N.Y.
HICKAM
Truman H. Hickam, 89, Versailles, died Nov. 6, 2002, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
He was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Barnett, a son of Edmond and Grace Leona Williams Hickam. He was married Aug. 20, 1938, to Wilma V. Marriott, who survives at the home.
He retired from the Missouri Conservation Commission in 1976. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Versailles.
Other survivors include; one son, Robert E. Hickam, Kansas City; one daughter, Susan Scholl, Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Versailles.
READE
Una Florence Reade, 90, Tipton, died Nov. 4, 2002, at California Care Center.
She was born Feb. 27, 1912, in Moniteau County, a daughter of Wade and Elsie Bond Newkirk. She was married to Leo H. Heather, who died May 25, 1963. She was married to Louis C. Reade, who died Jan. 14, 1982.
She lived most of her life in Kansas City, moving to Tipton in the early 1980s. She worked as a seamstress for a clothing manufacturer in Kansas City, until her retirement. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Kansas City. She was a volunteer at Tipton Nutrition Center.
Survivors include: three grandchildren, Vincent Heather and Sonia Porter, both of Tipton, and Linda Beck, Salina, Okla., and five great-grandchildren.
One son, Donald N. Heather and two grandchildren, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Don Schutte will officiate. Burial will be in Moreau Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
SAKKINEN
Carole Ann Carpenter Sakkinen, 52, Bland, died Nov. 5, 2002, at her home.
She was born Sept. 27, 1950, in St. Louis, a daughter of Kenneth W. and Willadeen M. Holzschuh Carpenter, who survive in Bland. She was married Nov. 15, 1997, in Bland, to Daniel Sakkinen.
She was a police officer for the city of Linn and a member of Beemont Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Cancer Society
Other survivors include three brothers, Jim Carpenter and Mike Carpenter, both of Bland, and Gary Carpenter, Belle; and one sister, Brenda Carpenter, Linn.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville. The Rev. Bill Hafley will officiate. The body was cremated.
SMITH
Frances "Sue" Smith, 61, Brazito, died Nov. 4, 2002, at Oak View Living Center.
She was born March 18, 1941, in St. Louis, a daughter of Clyde and Donia Young Robertson. Her mother survives in Brazito. She was married July 18, 1981, in Gainesville, to George E. Smith, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she graduated from Russellville High School. She attended Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg. She worked in the date procession department of Healthcare Services Group for 18 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Community Christian Church.
Other survivors include: one son, Bruce Loesch, Jefferson City; two daughters, Cindy Renick, Russellville, and Patty Riegel, Linn; three stepsons, Keith Smith, Las Vegas, Ken Smith, Holts Summit, and Dan Smith, Jefferson City; one stepdaughter, Pam Frank, Stafford, Va.; one brother, Joe Robertson, Versailles; two sisters, Faye Ann Adler, Wichita, Kan., and Carol Wharton, Salisaw, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Gary Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
VAUGHN
Garland Franklin Vaughn, 93, Kansas City, Kan., died Nov. 4, 2002, at Medical Lodge Post Acute Care Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born May 7, 1909, in Miller County, a son of Charles F. and Cora Angeline Harrison Vaughn. He was married to Alice Rosie Murray, who preceded him in death. He was married to Alpha Roark, who preceded him in death.
He was a member of Calvary Temple in Kansas City.
Survivors include: two sons, Carl Melvin Vaughan, Tuscumbia, and Roy Dale Vaughan, Bartlesville, Okla.; one daughter, Rosalee Jeffries, Kansas City, Kan.; one stepdaughter, Lois Groeber, Tuscumbia; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bible Way Church of Eldon. The Rev. Larry Albertson will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
